Every year at my school we have a veterans day assembly. Our orchestra was going to play two songs, a medley of patriotic songs and God Bless America. We were supposed to play God Bless America during a slideshow of pictures of veterans from our community. Each veteran was supposed to submit their own picture, and my orchestra teacher timed the slideshow THE NIGHT BEFORE the assembly. According to her calculations, we would only have to repeat 2-3 times. That was not the case. Apparently, a lot of veterans had submitted their photos SUPER last minute, and the size of the slideshow had doubled. We had to repeat God Bless America. Six. Times. Every time after that, on the last measure, we watched as our conductor/orchestra teacher gave us the signal to repeat. My school cello's (Which I was using) end pin's favorite thing to do is slip down. Its end pin isn't like the other cellos, and it always slips. My orchestra teacher had had countless repairs on it, (Including one this year, the end pin was stuck and we couldn't even get it unstuck with pliers. Turns out the thing you turn to tighten and loosen the end pin (I forgot what it was called) was broken. I had to use a 3/4 cello for 2 weeks because there were no other available ones.) I was nervous for the assembly, as I have to fix the end pin several times during class everyday. Thankfully, all went well. Until the sixth time we had to repeat God Bless America. Towards the end, the end pin began to slip. I looked up, and thankfully we didn't have to repeat it again. If we did, I would've been doomed. The entire school, veterans, and others from the community were watching. The question still haunts me to this day: What would've happened if my end pin slipped?
Okay this is just too true. I use rock stops and mine doesn’t slip but it goes in because it won’t stop sliding in no matter how hard I tighten the end pin.

Gaming With Vlada our band calls us the orch dorks. Our cellos nearly fought them because they stole all the rock stops as a joke. It was not funny. You had a bunch of orchestra people scrambling around trying to find the damn rock stops.
I’m a cello, and that thing about the different Es’ pitches between violins and Double Basses is so true. And that thing about the bows moving while playing was funny and true. I liked this video.
Middle school cello player here. Very accurate except there'd probably be a bunch of kids yelling in the back and my teacher would be screaming. And this one kid would be playing meme music Seriously, I'm so sick of the people there that I'd quit if there wasn't only one other cello player.
I love how all the jokes are from all us orchestra nerds, I’m an orchestra nerd too. We had a March madness but it was orchestra and I won the whole thing!! 😂
I don’t know of any middle school orchestra that lets their kids even touch their instruments pegs😂😂 -EDIT- ok so some of y’all are saying “we get to tune” and “we learned how to tune in 6th grade” My orchestra did too and we only used our fine tuners. We couldn’t use our pegs because most of us would try at home and break a string haha😂 and it’s usually unnecessary, our instruments don’t get that out of tune and the fine timers can fix the little differences.
In my middle school, we have to learn how to tune on our own starting at the beginning of sixth grade. Then, in around January of that year, we learned to do pegs. It's not hard at all, and during the process of learning pegs we only had one string break (A violinist).
1st violins (me): hella quite since there’s only four of us 2nd violins:also really quiet except my friend he plays louder than he’s supposed to Cellos: really good; the only section that has the most vibrato Violas: all the smart kids -plays fast and likes all the fast pieces
In my class they aren’t all smart, this one kid keeps fucking playing two notes on a quarter note and it pisses me off so bad to the point I have to remind him to stop but that shit does not stop
Bruh you are obviously that type of person to say stupid things or ask stupid questions when it literally answers your questions in the description if you would just read it
my 6th grade orchestra- violins- snack eachother with stands and bows cellos- pretty much the backbone of our orchestra and the only one who apply themselves basses- hit eachother with the german bows violas- sound horrible and waste the whole period slowing the rest of the people down (im a viola😂)
lol nothing like my current or old orchestra except back in middle school, our viola section sucked until it was just one girl. she just didn't play loud. now we have two violas and they're our best section even if they're lazy
Lmao I’m a middle schooler and one time I forgot to close my case, and as I went down the stairs, my rosin flew out and broke down the stairs, I was screaming at people to go around, and mourned my rosin, kneeling on the ground and scooping up the rosin, in denial of its demise, it was traumatic, that’s why I always double check to close it
And I’m the concert master for he second violins and let me tell you, the seconds are sometimes better than the firsts. It depends on your level of orchestra. The seconds have a different part than the firsts remember, we have to try and figure out if we are playing with the firsts, violas, our just by ourselves. The seconds also play lower which can make it more difficult to sound good. Lower notes=less pretty=less good sounding
I'm in band but can relate to some of these, like tuning and the instrument sliding out of ur lap. And with rauzen or however u spell it, every always asks for my valve oil
Rosin really sucks tho just in generally. You have to much on your bow, the bow doesn’t work. You don’t have enough, the boy doesn’t work. And if you get it on your fingers it never comes off no matter how much you scrub. Your fingers just stay sticky. (Rosin is alcohol)
We had a concert last week.I’m first chair for 7th/8th. I almost dropped my bow during my solo....yeah I’ve been playing for 5 years. You could call me successful. 👍👍👍

My orchestra teacher had a lot of rosin but everyone broke it
Everybody asks me for some lol
Hi I don’t take orchestra, I play the flute and keyboard and piccolo in band. I was just wondering, what is rosin?
Thank you you including bass!
Who hasn’t played their violin as a cello at least once?I mean we all do it!
Nothing But Random mhm it’s just so entertaining though lmao
I play cello so I can’t relate but I definitely tried to play my cello as a violin before lol
I used to always play my Violin as a cello whenever we weren’t practicing a song
YESSS
we don't even have any bases because everybody joins band
Gaming With Vlada and they don’t even know how easy it is for them compared to us
All of our basses quit........
Sadness....
Yeah mine has to get 7th grade bass players for pieces that have bass parts
unicorno123 aj same im literally playing electric bass except for cello at the concert.
Gaming With Vlada our band calls us the orch dorks.
Our cellos nearly fought them because they stole all the rock stops as a joke. It was not funny. You had a bunch of orchestra people scrambling around trying to find the damn rock stops.
As a double-bassist, I can confirm all the ones for bass 😅
Jennifer Dawn yes
Jennifer Dawn me too
Yes
Is it hard carrying it around? Cuz there is a girl I know that plays it also and I see her struggle to carry it around
Same
I’m a cello, and that thing about the different Es’ pitches between violins and Double Basses is so true.
I'm the one playing meme music💯👌
Alissa Abercrombie
Same
I it's me and another in mine
I'm the one playing meme music
I can play suite number one on violin
I swear cellos are the worst at keeping track of rosin lmao. (This is coming from a cello student)
CitrusMew (also coming from a cellist) this is true
I’m the seventh chair cellist in my orchestra and the principal asks me for my rosin sometimes lmao
MoragaMaverick26 Huh?
I'm a freaking beginner in playing the Cello and everyone asks for mine 😭
ashton my section leader, the first chair cellist. Sorry if I was unclear lol
1:05 WE ARE DOING GAUNTLET TOO AND THAT IS A VERY ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF THE CELLO PLAYERs
LMFOAO I REMEMBER DOING IT IN 8TH GRADE
The 8th grade in my school is also doing this
Yeah the 7th grade class is doing it, I was going to do it but then I got moved to advanced class with the 8th graders
(I play the cello)
y’all did in in 8th? i did gaunlet in 6th
Ellianna Del Fierro me too
The one with the either way too much Rosen or not enough Rosen on the bottom of the bow is so relatable. It will NEVER EVER stick!!!!
*rosin
I love how all the jokes are from all us orchestra nerds, I’m an orchestra nerd too. We had a March madness but it was orchestra and I won the whole thing!! 😂
I get two things while carrying my cello
"Oh I thought there was a person behind you"
And
*ThAt'S a BiG ViOlIN*
Aryllix ghost same
Yes I play the cello and the waiting is soo boring and if you just lightly graze the string the teacher said that they heard you 😂😂😂😂
Ya my last concert my cello was so out of tune I barely played
2:45 * rosin promptly shatters completely, leaving a sticky residue everywhere *
YOOOO HOWD U KNOW WE WAS PLAYING GAUNTLET THIS IS REALLY A DAY IN MY LIFE 10/10 😭
I don’t know of any middle school orchestra that lets their kids even touch their instruments pegs😂😂 -EDIT- ok so some of y’all are saying “we get to tune” and “we learned how to tune in 6th grade” My orchestra did too and we only used our fine tuners. We couldn’t use our pegs because most of us would try at home and break a string haha😂 and it’s usually unnecessary, our instruments don’t get that out of tune and the fine timers can fix the little differences.
Honestly 😂
I was just thinking that 😂😂😂😂
we did a bit w/ pegs in 8th grade I think
At my school, 7th graders learn how to tune (even with the fine tuners)
In my middle school, we have to learn how to tune on our own starting at the beginning of sixth grade. Then, in around January of that year, we learned to do pegs. It's not hard at all, and during the process of learning pegs we only had one string break (A violinist).
2:51 lol that’s me during class
The Chicken Industries PUSSY SO GOOD IT GOT MY NAME ON UHH
The Chicken Industries same honeslty
Same
oml and with my tosin, tuner, and german bow, and music, its impossible to fit that all on a stand 😂😂
Same.
When you're band and orchestra and ur teachers fight over u
Why was this on my recommended..?
I’m in band......
Fox Girl Same lol I play flute
Alexa it’s a sign you should join orchestra.
It was in my recommended too but I’m a Cellist in Orchestra so it all works out.
well not everyone’s perfect
Lol u are a loser
I hate when my shoulder rest falls off
kill me same I get a mini panic attack
Me too
your user name certainly describes it
It happened to me in a concert and I dropped my violin, music and it went about 2 tones out of tune. It has a giant crack in the back. 😂
I think that means it's too loose....
It’s bothersome when you have to use your fourth finger and no one in your section can do it except for you. :/
righttt
Yes!!
@Sparkle Tiger
I am a middle schooler
:3
Facts, all the other cellos cant reach their fourth finger but i can so i start to stretch my fingers too much due to other cellos :(
THIS^^^
Can you imagine some women chilling in a middle school class with a bunch of instruments talking to herself? Lmao
1st violins (me): hella quite since there’s only four of us
2nd violins:also really quiet except my friend he plays louder than he’s supposed to
Cellos: really good; the only section that has the most vibrato
Violas: all the smart kids -plays fast and likes all the fast pieces
Awkward Emo ONLY 4 FIRST VIOLINS WTH
WHY THE HELL are there only 4 first violins?
In my class they aren’t all smart, this one kid keeps fucking playing two notes on a quarter note and it pisses me off so bad to the point I have to remind him to stop but that shit does not stop
WHERE ARE THE BASSES?!??!
@@tobiascummiskey1786 IKR!
So in my school the orchestra and band have seperate rooms and they are both on top of each other so when band plays it's like an actuall earthquake
Everyone else: Omg! i am so good
Me: - cello screech -
I don’t know what middle school they go to if their kids are this old
E’stheboss she’s a teacher
E’stheboss read the description
@@anitarashidi1872 r/wooooosh
come get your juice shut up commie
Bruh you are obviously that type of person to say stupid things or ask stupid questions when it literally answers your questions in the description if you would just read it
*when everyone in the comment section is in orchestra and you’re in band*
Edit: I love reading the replies lol, and btw I play flute.
Me too!!
Begone band go away I’m a girl of orchestra Ahhhhhhh
Nah, clarinet player in band here too!
*when there is no orchestra, OR band in your school*
I’m in a Jazz Band!!
I play clarinet
Who else here is from twoset?
Zicarx TheGreat • me.
Me heheh
Me lol
Ling Ling wannabe right here
JuSt A ReGulAr AcToR me too
my 6th grade orchestra-
violins- snack eachother with stands and bows
cellos- pretty much the backbone of our orchestra and the only one who apply themselves
basses- hit eachother with the german bows
violas- sound horrible and waste the whole period slowing the rest of the people down (im a viola😂)
anna k sounds just like mine lol
lol nothing like my current or old orchestra except back in middle school, our viola section sucked until it was just one girl. she just didn't play loud. now we have two violas and they're our best section even if they're lazy
I'm a cello, the violins (2/3) of the orchestra slack around and the 5 other violas and cellos hold up the orchestra.
Jocelyn Olis same
Teacher: "Alright Violins play your E"
Violin's: *Plays E*
Cello's: *Faints*
Bass': *Screams*
Viola's (me): *Ears bleed* "STOP THIS MADNESS!!"
YESS EVERYONE COVERS THEIR EARS WHEN THEY TELL US TO PLAY E (violinist)
The struggles of us basses 😂😂😭
When someone touches the hair on the bow *starts screaming like I'm being boiled alive* Noooooooooo!!!!!!!
1st violin is described by one word: *rushing*
1:05 is accurate though-
(Edit)Also as a middle school orchestra student, I can fully relate to this.
Lmao I’m a middle schooler and one time I forgot to close my case, and as I went down the stairs, my rosin flew out and broke down the stairs, I was screaming at people to go around, and mourned my rosin, kneeling on the ground and scooping up the rosin, in denial of its demise, it was traumatic, that’s why I always double check to close it
Clod be glad it wasn’t your instrument XD that would be traumatizing
Lin Tram
Yeah xD
@SW33TJAM
Update: I have lost passion in playing.
I’m switching to Theatre next year.
The shoulder rest is so relatable, as well as the rosin
My class:
First violins: really good, I’m the concert master
2nd: trash
Viola’s: okay
Cello’s: amazing
YOU DON'T USE APOSTROPHES TO MAKE WORDS PLURAL! YOU ONLY DO THAT FOR POSSESSIVES!
_The Grammar Nazi has spoken._
Lower notes=less pretty=less good sounding
aren’t you forgetting contrabasses?
H E Y WHO YOU CALLING TRASH
Day Dream Same thought tho. We aren’t trash we’re just unappreciated and always looked at as trash.
or something like " what measure are we on" or "what line we on."
Bases are so loud that I can realate violins like that I always cover my ears when I hear bases😂
I'm in band but can relate to some of these, like tuning and the instrument sliding out of ur lap. And with rauzen or however u spell it, every always asks for my valve oil
Ours is rosin :)
Rosin really sucks tho just in generally. You have to much on your bow, the bow doesn’t work. You don’t have enough, the boy doesn’t work.
And if you get it on your fingers it never comes off no matter how much you scrub. Your fingers just stay sticky. (Rosin is alcohol)
how does one completely butcher the word “rosin”
@@amarismilano845 sorry im not a string player
Rosin. I get how you feel. I was in band and switched to orchestra
Everyone: what instrument do you play?
Me: the bass
Everyone: what?
Me: sigh... the big tall thing
Everyone: oh... ok
Where are my bass players at?
Here
YeeYee.
Ayyy
hiya
Which one?
The bass is the most accurate thing i have ever seen. At all times.
We had a concert last week.I’m first chair for 7th/8th. I almost dropped my bow during my solo....yeah I’ve been playing for 5 years. You could call me successful. 👍👍👍
😂 soo true I play violin and my stand partner is always asking for me to let her use my rosen
What made this video 10x more accurate was that fact you were play Gauntlet.
When People come up to me
Person: H-
Me:What do you need
Why am I even here? I’m a trombone!
I felt it when she tried to take the bass rosin out
Violins: *good for no reason*
2nd violins: *squeak intensifies*
Violas: Really, really, really bad
Cellos: Not bad honestly
Bass: *E*
XVR Hydra Violins are good because they practice 40 hours a day, duh
@@CrumbsSugarCookie1 Fellow TwoSetter?
Paula Fernández Jerez Yeee
When you’re in high school and you still relate to this 😂
Lol I love the “No parkour zone” sign 😂
The wait was the music teacher done with her class and decided to make a RUclips video
I am a middle school orchestra student and I can confirm this
You forgot the part where the cellos are on the base line and still overpower everything 😂😂😂😂😂
Ahh the bow pokes
When one of her bow hairs fell off i felt that 🤘😔
Gauntlet I lost it at the cello playing gauntlet😂😂😂
this video was fake from the beginning, practice? who practices in middle school orchestra lol
Uh me. I literally practiced 2 days ago for my concert next Tuesday.
I do! My teacher makes us practice at least 75 minutes a week 😐
I practice violin literally every day but sometimes not on Saturday or Friday. :) I’m in 2nd violin and in first chairrrrr :)))
a lot of schools. including me
does no one understand this is a joke lmao
The bass ones were so accurate.
I should know, I play the bass
And the one with “violins play ur e”
*EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*
I got so many flashbacks when you played gauntlet 😂
1:11 happens to me *ALL. THE. TIME.* 😂😂😂
I felt every single thing of that. Especially the violin stuff.
Legend has it that the bass is still repeating measure 10 to this day
"When you get to measure 9, I want you to imagine you are a sea cucumber and your best friend is a blue flamingo and you are eating Cheetos while watching reruns of old black and white TV shows. How does that make you feel?"
I'M WHEEZING
7:20 I felt that but instead of dodging a bow I dodge the butt of a flute😪
