Classic reporter take. Lions beat the 14-2 Vikings by 20+ points for the 1 seed and now the Lion's D didn't play well. Maybe for the first time, they had a solid core that were able to play together, communicate and move as 1 without having to introduce a new replacement.

They blitzed heavily, and Darnold and his coaches never adjusted. That won't happen again going forward. The Viking's ineptitude in that spot masked the true depth of injury on Detroit's defense.

As a Washington fan I must agree here..... Dan Campbell is in my opinion the biggest reason we go for it so much.... They probably don't even realize it, but somewhere along the way when DC said touchdowns are worth more points than punts it made sense to them 😅
I think the reason it's said that way honestly tho is due to the perception of each team..... Detroit is viewed as high powered and high scoring, not needing extra drives...... Washington is viewed as playing better than their roster says they should be, we were assumed to be a 4 win team this year, so people view it as us being the lesser power in games and needing to steal an extra possession or keep the ball from the other offense....
It's not that Dan doesn't have rhyme or reason but that they don't understand his reasoning as easily...... Bad team gotta go for it to try to win..... Great team going for it is "giving chances for extra possession to the opponent giving them a better chance to win"
I think DC does it to keep the momentum and really squash teams hope..... I don't think they blow these teams out without going for it the way they do..... And I fkn AGREE with MCDC.... Stomp the opponent and don't let up til you're up by 35......
If they are up 28 on us and go for it on 4th down I am going to salute Dan Campbell, not complain, because it means he thinks Jayden MIGHT still be able to come back from down 28 😂😂😂
We got the two best head coaches in the game playing this week..... Should be Co-Coach of the Year...... I've got tremendous respect for the men up in Detroit.... Downtrodden and given up on just like us..... Even worse really..... Detroit DESERVES to have a great team to provide moments of happiness for their people.
There is no other team in the NFL that I'd be okay with losing to and CHEER for going forward except Detroit.... It's an honor gentleman, can't wait to watch this game🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡

Week 4, BUF was missing several starters, but the Ravens also had the 29th ranked defense in the league, and now have about three new starters. The Bills made an addition to their offense since and have played better, but this was the same Ravens team that nearly gave up 30 to the Raiders and the Bills only scored 10. At the end of the day, I just don't see how the Bills stop Henry without completely selling out to do so and they just don't have the backers to deal with TWO TEs. I think the Bills are going to try and play Henry and Lamar more conservatively, instead of crashing heavy on one, and it's just going to be a slow death.

A couple positives for the Texans this time in regards to the quick game and defending the run if we're harkening back to the previous match up...they'll have their full Front 7 healthy this time (Al-Shaair, Fatukasi) and I'm not accusing Demeco Ryans of pulling punches, but to Barnwell's points about Hollywood Brown, I don't think he'll see a lot of Jeff Okudah this time. Stingley could travel with someone, Lassiter will be back outside, and I think they'll try to be A LOT more physical this time. To Mina's point, Mahomes' legs will be huge in this one and the Chiefs are going to blitz the Texans into oblivion.

The weather will impact the running of Barkley as well, can’t cut as well in the forces you to just basically run north south.
And there’s nothing more I would like is to have hurts win the game by throwing.
When the Rams have the ball, I expect McVay to mix it up, eat up the clock as much as possible and turn this into a fourth-quarter game.
They have a tremendous amount of Momentum and confidence at this stage of the playoffs.
They have the veteran quarterback, who has one at all that if the game is close, he can be the difference.
The Eagles will probably win the game, but my gut tells me it is going to be very close !

The Bills will try to control the clock with runs and short passing plays. Their defense has struggled all season stopping anyone and they have survived on getting turnovers and outscoring opponents. The Broncos game was maybe their best defensive performance of the season. The weather may be a factor, but I would expect a high scoring game with the Bills winning due to home field advantage.

If you’re beating teams by two scores late, teams will be in no huddle and your defense will be in a prevent. That’s going to lead to a lot of yards. I saw the Commanders struggle in the red zone last week. That’s where the Lions defense thrives. The Commanders will score maybe 24 points. The Commanders D will hard pressed to stop the Lions from scoring 40 plus. That is why the spread is 9.5. If Jayden Daniels plays a legendary game, the Commanders will have a chance. That is the only way. Also, Goff has been elite under pressure this year. What is this dude talking about?

As a Washington fan it doesn't make sense dc gets flak for going for it ..i kinda understand but dont agree....

If the Bills want to win, just go spread and throw every down. The Ravens are still swiss cheese against the pass especially on the outside. The run is a trap against this team. It's a wasted down. Just throw it down field.

As always - the brainy-est NFL pod out there. If you're going to do analysis, do it like this.
Amidst all of this bulls*** talk about "who is qualified to talk football with former players - i.e. people in 'the know' v. Eye Candy that Sells, Mina Kimes continues to represent for folks who didn't play, but who are dedicated to data and the analysis that it bears - but who also is a fan of the games, and is all in the sport.
There is an especially dangerous trend I've noticed on social media in wake of the Charlie Dixon/Skip Bayless lawsuit, to suddenly start questioning the very existence of women in NFL analysis.
Mina Kimes lays waste to all that type of retrograde opinion, I believe.

Honestly, I feel like Mina needs to leave ESPN and just join Nick Wright on FTF, and they both can just bash the Lions the entire time together. MINA, Goff went 18 for 18 not because of the Seahawks injuries, but because HE'S A GREAT QB! If it was easy to do that, every team would be perfect against the Lions, they've been vasty more injured than the Seahawks were in that game. Why you hate the Lions, I'll never really understand.

1.) They're not taking Buffalo lightly. 2.) Nobody is even implying that. But the Ravens are a terrible matchup for the Bills. Even with the returning defenders, the way that defense is built, plays into the hands of what the Ravens want to do. AND, they will have to play more base than they want, to even have the best chance of stopping it.

Darnold left four TD passes out there? You know you can only score 1 TD per possession right? What are we talking about here?
He missed multiple on the same possession, with Brian branch jumping into his space.
Jayden is about to hit a wall. Well give up the 50 rush yards to him. Good luck in the redzone, we know they’ll move the ball. But are they scoring 35? Not a chance in hell.
