"I love this feeling. This is how I'd imagine a normal person feels every day of their life." First red flag that I was an alcoholic. I drank to self medicate.

Oh! I also used to drink to mask my social mistakes! I would say "Sorry, I've had a few" after I knew I had said something strange or inappropriate.

I never really cared for the alcohol buzz and yes, it does decrease my social inhibitions but my social inhibition level is so high that by the time I've drunk enough to be functionally uninhibited, I'm too drunk to be functional. So at some point I got to the point of "why bother?" and stopped.

Drank heavily in my teens and twenties to cope with parties, nightclubs and people I found stressful. Now I have a drink if that's what I did yesterday. Which means I'll do it tomorrow.

I don’t mind if some people drink. Just as long as they’re doing it responsibly. I don’t, and will never get addicted to alcohol. My husband and I only do it once a month, or during special occasions. And we know when to stop.

The two best tips I have in regard to getting hammered:
For every glass and alcohol, drink a glass of water. It helps to prevent a hangover. A lot.
Once you start drinking beer, *do not* go back to tequila (or other strong liquors, but tequila is my favorite shot). Trust me, it does not end well
At the risk of sounding like any alcohol commercial you've ever seen, please drink responsibly. The last thing you want is to wake up wondering where you are and how you got there

I can looking back on it, that I used alcohol as a way to fit in. For a long time really. While it helps in the moment, it’s not so useful long term.

this is a very interesting video! i find myself to mask so much LESS when inebriated (typically the devil's lettuce) but and i've heard of other autistics feeling like they "act" either more autistic or less autistic when in that state.

Certainly must be to see your beautiful face and getting to see it ☺️
For various reasons, I don't drink or do other substances, other than (in general) chocolate and sugar. I recognize risk in anything more than sugar/chocolate/junk food as I already have the logical side-effects of those on my health and they're great.
