The Allegheny mountains are absolutely beautiful. If you are willing to walk or cross a stream or swamp you can get into some places that few people go. Reminds me of some of the videos you show in your big woods.
We used to hunt up there fifty years ago when deer was plenty and there were plenty of hunters in the woods moving the deer around. Hunting today is luck, be at the right place at the right time.
TY I am just an average hunter trying to share the stories of my adventures. No doubt about it, making my videos and watching others gets me through winter and spring when I can’t be in the woods deer hunting.
Family Camp up Leeper area. Love it. We hunt SGL 24 and Allegheny National Forest. If you are willing to walk 45 min it's like having your own property. Camp food is the Best. Enjoyed this.
Your attitude is a lot like mine, I am 64 been deer hunting 50 years, only missed the Opener once, my Hunting partner was killed 10 days before in tragic accident. I am okay with still hunting, but it must be private land. Nuthin like a fresh snow and moseying along. Walked up on a few that way, very exciting! For the Opener SIT! Then sit some more unless ya just can't take the cold no more. Hey man, Great video! I really enjoyed. Have a safe, fun season this year. Kenny/ Hunterdon County, NJ
Kenny, TY for the compliment on the video. I have been able to talk to so many good people like yourself through comments in my videos. I love sharing my stories, but love hearing other stories even more. There are such great people in the hunting community and I feel super fortunate that I still have my health at 53 to be able to go out and enjoy the peace of the woods and the excitement of what is around the next corner. It will be pretty tough for me to beat the deer of a lifetime I shot last fall on public land with my bow but I’m going to try. Good luck, have fun and be safe this fall. Curt
I do agree with that. Amazing on many bucks are shot in PA opening weekend! I did see a few nice bucks on my walk and i think that will lead me to where I might hunt next year.
No doubt… I did not even find that nice buck in my scope at 90 yards before he bolted. TY for the advice. I do appreciate all the help I can get. Season is approaching quick. Good luck this fall.
Sounds like a cliché but, its not... deer camp is not just about bagging a deer, its so much more. Theres nothing like deer camp and opening day. Good luck in future.
I totally agree Peter. It’s the tradition, the camaraderie, spending time with people you chose to be with telling stories, catching up, laughing and making some new memories along the way. For me, it’s family and friends and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. If we get a deer, that’s a bonus.
Hey buddy I’d like to meet up sometime we got a group that hunts right close you y’all I’ve hunted up that lane by the bridge our camp isn’t far from there
@@epicadventureswithbellaand3574 great memories at camp always. I usually end up at camp only opening weekend now that I have started hunting 3-4 states per year. Definitely be in touch once November rolls around. I have met so many good people so far through my RUclips journeys. 🤓🦌
nice video, looked like some beautiful country to be hunting inn. thanks for taking us along and sharing it with us

Family tradition is what it’s about! Like your videos Curt!!
@@GregG-u3i TY. Who you share the hunting weekends with is as important as going hunting.

I think there is a little bit of luck in every hunt. But you are correct, there are not enough hunters to move the deer around
Tons of deer in Pennsylvania u gotta find em and get away from ppl..
Nice video. Ready for deer hunting season to start again 👍🏻

Hunting camp memories are special to say the least. And there is endless property to explore in the Allegheny National Forest.

Great video! That’s a nice deer camp you guys have there.
TY When my cousins bought it it was nothing. Tons of work went into it almost 25 years ago and it has been the hub of many a great time ever since.
Our camp is in the Tionesta area. I love the late flintlock season the best.
We are super close to there and have trout fished in the Tionesta for close to 20 years.
That's how it goes some years, I think the rain really hurt this year but it just means more bucks and deer for next year.
I do agree with that. Amazing on many bucks are shot in PA opening weekend! I did see a few nice bucks on my walk and i think that will lead me to where I might hunt next year.
If your gonna walk you need an open sighted lever or pump. That high powered scoped bolt is useless for that type of hunting.

Same Brother Good Luck
What gamelands are ypu in?
@@joshegger3678 24. Lot of pressure! Just like everywhere!
What area/county in the ANF? For years I've been hunting Elk and Forest County.
Combination of Elk, Jefferson, Clearfield. Beautiful country, just a lot of big woods.

Hint where you killed that buck. He was there for there for a reason.
Amazing how smart these big old mature mountain bucks are.
Looks like you need to do more hunting and less talking.
