I love this informative series, being a pass junkie! I also think that Seweweeks is the most exquisitely surreal place in SA. I'm about to do it for the third time in 30 years.
I was one of the first people to ever go up the God help me pass with a vehicle. My father who had the Willy's Africa franchise was approached by Firestone to make a promotion film. Think it was mid sixties . I did have photos of floating the jeep across the orange river.
I recently took family to see the poort. Really awesome! 60km/hr is too fast we traveled 40-20km. There's so much to take in & a surprising amt of wild life. Needless to say they were very impressed. We shall be back ;)

Would you say that this pass can be driven in an ordinary car? Need to travel that way but we don't have a 4X4/bakkie
@@joyellick1662 Yes indeed. We had a standard little Nissan 1400 bakkie. I wouldn't go after heavy rain though.
