Very smart way of processing HOO, I never knew this. One question...where are your 3 or 2 nested layers of smart objects, I only see 1 in your processing video !
Photoshop only shows one at at time, but the smart object is made from a smart object. If you doubleclick on the smart object Photoshop will open that smart object as a second image where you can make edits. When you save it it updates the smart object in the original image.
Hi, thanks so much for your videos. There is a point where I have a problem. I shoot with an dual narrow band filter (l-extreme). So I separate Oiii and Ha layers with Siril and get two different black and white files. My problem is in photoshop, when I want to bring color to my files (at 24:13 in your video). After turning my image from grayscale to RVB, when I double-click on layer, I have R V and B channels checked. So, I uncheck red channel for example like you did. But then my image is completely and uniformely colored with 50% blue and 50% green, not like yours where you have colored parts and black parts. Am I missing something? As a consequence, I can not complete the full process of the image. I searched and tried but I'm stucked with this very precise step. Help! :) Thanks, Jerome
That's normal behavior for a single layer (or layer group). The process uses two (or more) layers to create full color; for instance one layer showing only red and a second layer showing only green and blue. The combination of the two layers then supplies all three color channels, red, green and blue. Each layer by itself only shows its color.
I love these processing videos! thanks for sharing!
Thanks.
I'm currently at 14h with the L-Ultimate. I think I need around 40h to get a strong OIII signal. Yours looks great.
Yes, Oiii is usually the challenge.

Thank you for this vid. Could you supply your settings for the "more aggressive approach" to BlurX, please?
Sure, I have Sharpen Stars turned up to 0.32 and Adjust Star Halos reduced to -0.20
Is there a Pixinsight version of layers processing because I thought PI could do everything ?
Not as far as I know.
Your stars are from the Oxygen3 layer so only monochrome in this version ?
Yes
