Back in his playing days, I never thought of Dave Stewart as the smiling, affable, good-humored guy that I see in this interview.
As an adolescent, when I saw him take the mound for the A's, he always had this stern, no-nonsense, ruthless game face on. I mean, even in his baseball card photo, I remember him looking like the ultimate imposing fierce competitor. Keep in mind, back in those days Oakland was a powerhouse. So on that club, Dave Stewart looked like he could go 35-0 by his intimidating aura alone! 😄
I don't follow mlb as closely now these days, but it is great to see a player I remember from my youth.
