I have the data of liquid and solid input of one river, the liquid series is between 1943 and 2012 while the solid series is between 1988 and 2012. I have made a correlation between the solid and liquid inputs in the period 1988 till 2012, i got a correlation coefficient =0.87 and the correspondant equation, then I wanted to fill data gaps of solid series in the period 1943 till 1988 using the produced equation So, is it correct to that especially that I am doing filling gaps outside the interval of the observed data (1988-2012). ?
