Thank you LDS Youth for making this simple yet insightful message. The analogy in this video helps me understand the depth of priesthood power and authority. The satellite system is a valuable tool when it can get to the outer space and begins to function. Today, many types of communication such as GPS rely on the satellite in order to help people in their daily activities. Similiarly, each man who hold the priesthood of God and strive to live worthily will be an instrument in God's hands to bless lives of people around him and help him to find a meaningful, purposeful life.

While going through the things needed for the restoration of Christ's church on the earth, three of Christ's apostles, Peter, James and John, appeared and gave that priesthood power to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. Yes, the same Priesthood that Christ gave his apostles while on the earth.
It's quite the ironic time to play this with a Soyuz rocket and talk about failure when the Soyuz just did that because someone messed up with the ball joint. and that one of the fins fell off and caused the rocket to go out of control when that is exactly what happened in the Soyuz launch when one of its boosters sent the rocket to spin out of control. Ironic right!

It's not very straight forward in the video, but maybe some explaining will help. The priesthood is the vehicle that transports the product to those that need it. And the product is the atoning power of Christ.

Actually, it isn't confined to that. Men and women can both have priesthood authority in callings, priesthood blessings, saving ordinances administered by the priesthood, and priesthood revelation such as general conference talks or patriarchal blessings. The only aspect of the priesthood women cannot have is priesthood keys. I don't have priesthood keys, you probably don't, only 4 people in every ward actually do have priesthood keys. Also, even though women can't have priesthood keys, nobody can argue that that is unfair or bigoted or sexist any more than saying "God didn't give men the capability to give birth, even though that is essential to His plan of salvation. He must think women are superior." Elder M. Russell Ballard said, "Men and women have different gifts, different strengths, and different points of view and inclinations. That is one of the fundamental reasons we need each other. It takes a man and a woman to create a family, and it takes men and women to carry out the work of the Lord. A husband and wife righteously working together complete each other." TL;DR: Men and Women are equal before God, they just have different responsibilities.
Sorry pal, you're mistaken and misleading. As a lifelong member, I clearly see it's not just KEYS that are denied; but ORDINATION: females cannot be deacons, teachers, priests, elders, high priests, seventies or apostles, to name a few. Clearly, many among the first five offices listed do not have keys, aka authority over specific congregations within geographic areas. Yet not a single women or girl can administer saving ordinances, and that is a "key" difference. As the video shows, Christ's Atonement saves all men and women, yet the irony is that girls and women are denied taking part in this "light-sharing" not because of salvation or their worthiness; nor because they "give birth", which lacks the reality that it equally requires a man to create children. Their roles are restricted based on one thing alone: their gender, their biological sex; conveniently backed by all-male prophets, as revealed by an all-male Godhead. TL;DR: Women are denied being ordained to Priesthood offices because of gender, because supposedly only men can fully represent God's power and authority to adminster Christ's atoning power--but hey, we have different roles, right? Motherhood is equivalent to fatherhood, but priesthood is equivalent to... motherhood?
My dad once told me that when I became older then I would be an amazing dad, but my children would always love their mother more. He said that if I was the provider for my family then I would do a lot of work that went unrecognized. My dad then said something that really impacted me. “That won’t be fair, but it will be okay.” As a kid that seemed a very foreign concept, but the older I get the more wisdom I see in my father’s words. It isn’t going to be fair, but it will be okay. It is true that women are not able to be ordained to a priesthood office. I do not know why, but I do know that it is okay. There is no blessing that is reserved to priesthood officers, no advantage in life or in death. They are able to serve others and help them along their mortal journey, just as we all are commanded to minister. Yes, we all have different roles. I am not sure if fatherhood is equal to motherhood, but I am sure that it will be okay. I feel that if I were in a spaceship traveling to Heaven then I would be more worried about the worthiness of my ticket than whether I was a rocket scientist. My answer is not perfect; there are always more questions that can be asked. It is okay to ask those questions, but remember that in the end it is often a matter of faith. I do not know why women are not yet able to be ordained to the priesthood, and I do not know why the priesthood used to be limited to only the Levites. I do not know why the brothers Esau and Jacob fought over which of them could priesthood instead of them both getting it. I do know that God has the answers to those questions. Often commandments or other doctrine seems mysterious or even foolish at first, and the true motivation behind the commandment is only visible in hindsight. I am sure we won’t understand many things until the next life, and I am sorry for that. I do know that God leads His church, and I have faith in his priesthood.

But as a father, husband, Christian and Latter-day Saint, I'm asking you to open up your eyes to the Church's patriarchy and see how it mimics the world Christ has be apart from--namely, that men DO get most of the recognition for work, and women often DO NOT get recognized for theirs. Your dad may see your mother as getting more recognition, more love, but it is rarely the case historically and religiously. Love can be shared just as equally as authority. You may know Joseph Smith restored the Church with Hyrum and Oliver, but do you know of the prophetic contributions of Lucy Smith, Emma and Eliza? You know the prophets of old from Adam to Noah to Moses, but do you know of the prophets Deborah, Huldah or Miriam? Look them up in the scriptures! Your name comes from the Book of Mormon--do you realize how few women are named in those pages? Only 6 Old Testament women, along with Sariah, Abish-and that's it. Think about it: Nephi's wife doesn't get a name. The mothers of Mosiah, Alma the Younger, both Mormons and Moroni: it is as they didn't even exist. And I have to ask: who exactly is God? Because if you say Heavenly Father, you're half right: and then you’ll see who is getting more credit, and who did the work bringing forth our spirits but receives zero to little recognition: Heavenly Mother. Don’t worry, her title is not too sacred to speak. I do not know her name, but I know she exists. Because YES, fatherhood IS equal to motherhood: the creation, sustaining and nurturing of life that only men AND women can do together, united. Physiology? That’s set. Roles? Those can change.
