I can't believe we are at the Season Finale of Season 1!!! I'm SO HAPPY that I started this series - it's been incredible, thank you to all who recommended it! I'll be taking a small pause in-between seasons as the holiday season begins and a lot of shows change on the channel - but it will return in the New Year! 💞😚
Good idea but I recommend watching the movie between seasons as code white is VERY MUCH a Christmas coded movied and you don't need to watch passed episode 15 to watch the movie. As long as you know the basics, you're good. The movie is made to be watchable for everyone do they can bring in new viewers.
I loved this episode. The fact that the conversation between Twilight and Desmond is so tense and makes you think much deeper into both of these complicated and complex men. I loved how Twilight played on like three-four angles and achieved more than one goal. He now made himself known to Desmond, pushed Desmond and Damian closer together, and gave Damian a push towards Anya as well. He also memorized Desmond’s bodyguards faces and numbers. It was really well written.
@@itzmehDevi The only thing he said was shared blood doesn't require any level of intimacy or understanding. This is true. People can "share blood" with relatives but be complete strangers because they never interacted or interacted very rarely on a shallow level. The only reason a child is different from a stranger is because of the shared life and experience of raising them. Or in the case of the mother, carrying them and giving birth to them. The blood itself doesn't create some magical bond that allows one to understand the other.
@@itzmehDevi It means that no matter how close someone is to you, even your own child, you can never fully know what they’re thinking or feeling inside. Everyone has their own thoughts and feelings that others can't completely understand. Being blood related doesn’t mean you’re immune to such things.
The movie is separate from the series, so it can be watched either way. I watched it after season two, but that was because it wasn’t available where I’m at until recently! I look forward to whatever you choose! 🤠
I went for Season 1, 2, and then the movie but I guess plotwise it doesn't really matter. Although in my opinion, maybe the family dynamics flow/grow better in that order.
Congrats on finishing SxF Season 1, there is no announcement date for Season 3 so we might end up having to wait Fall of 2025 or later. It's nice to hear you'll be starting Mob Psycho 100 and Apothecary Diaries, both are favorites of mine. If your looking for even more things to watch, you would probably like (for serious shows) Vinland Saga, The 86, Re:Zero and (for cute/fun) Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun.
If you are taking a break, you can watch the movie around Christmas time… I think that was when it came out in Japan. It has the winter/holiday theme, which would match where you are now. Then you can watch season 2 in 2025. But you can’t go wrong whichever way you watch it.
For the movie, you can watch that anytime as it really isn't set to a particular time when it comes to the order here. The only thing here is to ask yourself if you want to slowly move directly into Season 2 or if you want a more action packed seqeuence in between (which still just feels like a longer Episode of Spy x Family haha)
As someone who watched the movie after season 2 it doesn't really matter. You can watch the movie now or after season 2. It's a very good and fluffy movie so highly recommend! It's like the entire spy x family package compacted into 1 movie
Imagine Anya was there and just she starts to read Donovan's mind, Donovan's eyes twitch and stares towards anya's direction we see an intense pressure come over anya and she faints right there as if there were just pure bloodlust and evil in place of his thoughts.
The line that always gets me is “Anya isn’t sure if Papa loves me.” He always says “this is all for my mission” but he’s actually really trying to do right by her. I think we can all agree he’ll be walking Anya down the aisle at her wedding in 20 years time thinking, “This is all for my mission!”
You can watch the movie before Season 2 because it's not a continuation of S2. The best thing about this show is that the studio can do movies without breaking the canon because its a piece of life with a slow burn main mission. I'm going to miss these reactions because I met you thanks to Spy x Family
If you've already started Season Two, you're going to love the second half for certain. Season One still has my favorite episode, the dodgeball episode. I am a sucker for comedic sports anime. 😂
You should react to some Spy x Family memes. young adult Damiian: calls Anya idiot young adult Anya: holds out hand to present the ring on her finger and does her smirk and says "I am your idiot"
I have a feeling that, in the end, Desmond won't be the villain. To me, he's someone who really cares about his family and is keeping them away, pretending not to care about them, so that they won't be used against him (who is probably being held hostage or something like that). This would explain a lot of his behavior and the fact that he's always being watched, for example.
As someone who's basically only seen season one, my big theory is that Mr. Desmond is the way that he is out of a sense of protection for his family. He's a paranoid hermit because he doesn't want anyone hurting them. He distances himself from them so that no one will see them as a target, and/or so that he can temper his attachment to them. He's trying to start a war to eliminate the threats to his family, like Yuri is. It would follow the thematic pattern throughout SxF so far of a character's outward personality contrasting the private part of themselves that they don't show others. Fiona is a great example, but every character we've developed so far fits this model. It's also reflected in the small recap they did halfway through the season, in which the narrator mentions every person having a mask, behind which is a part of the selves that they hide from others. It would make sense for Desmond to follow this rule to keep in line with that theming, as well as to keep the focus on the concept of family, which SxF also heavily revolves around.
I can't wait to see you react to Ep 4 of Season 2! One of my favs from Season 2. Also, I personally watched the movie after season 2 before the movie but I don't think it matters too much which way you watch them.
What a wakuwaku finale. Also, I'd recommend to watch S2 first and then the movie just because, there's a certain character that we all know capable of doing some crazy shits but it gets even crazier in the movie. For me at least..
@awphooey2u519 Yes, I know that everyone is there on S1. I just don't want to spoil things. And there's another comment here that exactly explains why did I recommend to watch S2 first and then movie. It's a matter of story built up, in short if u know what **** done in the movie it would tone down the suspension of S2 because this season in particular is built around this character.
22:20 I suppose the movie would feel like a more "climatic" way to end your time with Spy x Family (assuming the third season hasn't started airing by the time you reach it of course).
I saw a picture that I suddenly recognized as a pretty close match to Desmond: Vlad the Impaler. Similar round, soulless eyes, shallow face and drooping mustache. It's no wonder that weird face is so disturbing.
While I agree that the movie CAN be watched at any point, I would say it's better to watch it after season 2. The reason is kind of sort of a spoiler: Both Season 2 and the movie feature great action sequences with Yor, but in season 2 it's a build-up over several episodes and in the movie it's all one sequence. I feel like watching the movie first might lessen the impact of Yor's story in season 2.
The movie is fun. But i just think of it as a filler while I'm waiting for season 3 to be animated. Season 2 will be more awesome I think. New angles, amazing animations and new characters.
Damian's relationship with his older brother is..odd. Cause thier relationship on the surface, seems like my current relationship with my younger brother..If he calls...I will indeed..reply with a "What?." XD But..like..that's not the same cause Damian is 6 while his brother's 18 years old, if I am correct. That is a HUGE age difference. 12 year age gap!? Heck. I am only 5 years older than my brother and even I babied him when he was 6 years old. U r telling me he treats his brother like this when he is 12 years older!? When Damian is still 6??
Demetrius is second year middle school. He's 13. That's a 7 year age gap. Read the manga. Besides, Demetrius is.....yeah. hard to read. He doesn't outright ignore Damian. He will always answer him. He's just...kinda robotic and jaded.
I have seen season 2 and the movie, and without spoilers i can say that the family bonds they have right now don't match how strong they are as when the movie starts, so it makes nore sense for that to watch the movie after season 2.
Anime seasons that don't end on cliffhangers is a lot more concerning than the ones who do. Typically, that means the anime is not going to be renewed for a season.
And yet, this anime got an original movie so that the upcoming third season wouldn't overtake the manga too quickly. Given it's sales and popularity, I don't think that typical convention really applies here :P
Yeah unfortunately there isn't a reason to stay subscribed when you only do one good show a week. If you kept MHA in the mix then I would be thinking differently but just one good show isn't worth a subscription. If you replace Narutos and MHA time with a show that is better than what you are showing then this would be a different story but these shows are not that good.

Not wrong though
@@Millicente ??? Wdym? Ur child is not a stranger
His reasoning he gave isn’t necessarily wrong..A bloodline is not a proper bond and understanding of human interactions.
@@itzmehDevi The only thing he said was shared blood doesn't require any level of intimacy or understanding. This is true. I love how handler lady is wearing those rings, loid and fionna brought from tennis mission
Can’t wait to see what you think of season two’s opening…it’s my favorite.
Bro I'm never getting over the fact that they had to nerf Anya here otherwise we would know what goes into the mind of Donovan.
Imagine Anya was there and just she starts to read Donovan's mind, Donovan's eyes twitch and stares towards anya's direction we see an intense pressure come over anya and she faints right there as if there were just pure bloodlust and evil in place of his thoughts.
It's consistent though, Anya being a child gets tired or she's easily bored.
Overall, S1 > S2 due to a 'slow start'. But by no means S2 is bad.
S2 is a crescendo that culminates in pure Spy×Family epic wholesomeness.
You can watch the movie before Season 2 because it's not a continuation of S2. The best thing about this show is that the studio can do movies without breaking the canon because its a piece of life with a slow burn main mission.
