Unfortunately, the innovative Fiat Tipo never got the attention it deserved. It is clearly the more modern, more attractive, more powerful, more solid vehicle in this comparison and thus clearly superior to the aged, overpriced Golf two house-high!

My tipo was sound.Some deadbeat tried and failed to steal it but did loads of damage.Miss it .If I could find a 16v tipo I would buy one .Had a dark blue 1994 model in great nick, all debadged .

Me too!! The '89 model. 1.1L version. Good car but extremely unsafe. Look at a crash test for Tipo and you'll understand. That's why I switched to a '07 Yaris

Pas de Golf Mk2 au Brésil, mais nous avions la Tipo et la Golf Mk3 et toutes les deux marquèrent époque. La Tipo était une voiture avant son temps, leur design semble encore actuel.

On peut raconter tout ce qu'on veut sur Fiat, mais faut reconnaître qu'en motorisations diesel ils étaient au top, premier turbo diesel à injection directe avec la Croma Turbo Did et turbo à géométrie variable avec la TDI, mais aussi le premier diesel à rampe commune (common rail) avec l'Alfa 156 JTD !!!
J'en ai trouver une sur le boncoin, 500€, il faut changé les portières.
Fiat a toujours été un fabriquant innovateur. Au moins lorsque les producteurs retenaient encore leur identité. Aujourd'hui ils sont tous indiscernables, sans originalité.

now at 22/12/2021 , i search some infos about Tipo TD , i found one realy good with low milage , aprox 120.000km beauty , and i found also Golf 2 gtd , 400.000km , and for german box seller want 1300eu
without mot , and Tipo is 600euro , with mot , clean and realy beautyfyll , with alu wheels , i planing this days visit the Tipo , i think i will do right thing and decission.

I think the Golf MK2 looks more neat, especially the front, due to the pleasing combination of boxy/edgy and round elements. I mean just look at 2:53. That's what a proper car should look like. But then again I might be biased since I'm driving one.^^
The tipo has a much, much cleaner design, still looks good today, unlike the golf.
@@tentifr Well I guess as it always is with taste, that could be argued. I feel like the third window in the trunk area of the Tipo (0:15) hasn't aged well at all design wise.
Muy buenos coches el golf serie2 y fiat tipo 1.4cc pero claro el fiat acelera mas rapido que el golf. Pero por lo tanto me quedo con Volkswagen golf serie2.
