The 75-78 Mustang II uses a 12" 141 tooth D5ZZ6375A flexplate, but is balanced to 28 oz. The 91 302 will need a 50 oz balance E2AZ6375A flex plate. You need the bellhousing from something besides a Mustang II, like a truck or LTD. If you need the smaller bellhousing for clearance, call Art Carr and order a 50 oz 141 tooth flexplate and use a Mustang II torque converter.
Hi Lee and Shannon , glad you asked about a dog's breakfast . Buddy does like the usual kibble type dog food with a helping of canned beef chunks in sauce on top . Likes pretty much any treat but likes Gravy Bones snacks the best . Will find out about the Beausesor (?) Car Show today at work , the weather was perfect for it . One of my bosses always goes , she has a 1970 Z28 she bought when she was 16 . Didn't have a driver's licence yet but parent's let her buy it used at Birchwood Motors in Wpg years ago . Doesn't have power steering . Guys ask her ,"why don't you put it in the car ?" She replys, it didn't come that way I'm leaving it the way it is .
That's a cool looking car, love the tailfins and cats eyes tail lights, also a real nice engine colour. Yea the sbf's can get confusing, but they are a sweet little engine. I just got a "late model" roller cam windsor , and to mate it up to an old toploader I needed the correct bellhousing, flywheel and clutchpack which are hard to find nowadays ,keep up the great videos thanks!
Impressed with Shannon's hard work. You will have to loan her the 47 sedan if she needs a car to drive or let her drive brown sugar 👍 Hopefully you can get the parts you need soon.
Hi Lee and Shannon ,sorry to see the Model A roadster go to a new owner . I can understand why . Glen must be happy to have it . I did notice the big yawn Dorris made with the pickup in the back ground ...." Dorris doesn't care ! " The Comet is a neat little car , hope you find what you need without too much trouble so you can get back to the drivetrain combo . I'm sure you can figure out something to do with engine out . Buddy just woke up a has to go out , then it's breakfast and a treat . Didn't bark a let Lori know ya gotta get up too !
..hi Shannon and Lee...awww....it's always something, but I know the Comet will be cruising pretty soon..forgot to mention last video that I found you guys because you were featured in Halfassed Customs Brent's video a few weeks ago.....luv the channel.....
Don't know if you know this but the mustangs were built on the falcon chassis. They use the same glass. If you take the mustang on the early horn button emblem,if you take it off under it you will find a falcon emblem. I was surprised you didn't use an earlier mustang water pump and pulleys
That little Comet will be so sweet with that 302 and being a Mustang 302 it’s got a forged bottom end so it’s basically bullet proof. The mixing and matching isn’t as easy with Fords but it’s nice she’s keeping it Ford. Someone else mentioned the 141 tooth flexplate with 50 oz weights and that is exactly what you need to use the small bell housing. I did this when I put a 302 in a pinto, Art Carr has them and I believe Summit and Jegs too. The T5 would be a cool option too. Once done this little Comet will be a road trip champ.
Also, a C4 bellhousing from a Granada will accommodate a 164 tooth flexplate, if it will fit in your trans tunnel I do not know. Time to hit up some forums.
Haha I don’t even know the last time I saw a Granada, let alone a bellhousing from a Granada. We ordered the Art Carr 50oz 141 tooth flex plate as suggested by a couple people in the comments.
Small block Fords are great engines but I agree Chevy swaps are often times easier and more straightforward..It will be cool once finished..enjoyed the video…suggest 5 speed if available..
If that 91 Mustang motor has a roller cam, the gear on your points distributor, unless it was upgraded, will get chewed up by the cam gear. A 1985 mustang GT distributor will have the right gear, and have a vacuum advance. It will be an electronic distributor, but can be used with duraspark box or GM 4 pin ignition module. Gofastforless has info, click on "better dirt cheap electronic ignition". Lol, if you got a flat tappet cam, you are ok. I gave you the long way to fix the gear problem, because when I was faced with it, I couldnt find the correct gear to fit an old distributor. I guess I didnt want points very much though.
When you were bolting the bellhousing on to the tranny I thought to myself,I wonder if Lee compared those 2 bellhousings for differences??.. Thank you,Thank you Chevrolet!! Don't forget with Ford it's ''measure twice, bolt once!''
@@LGKustoms Chevrolet spoiled us!! But its also a great thing to keep the job ''make to make'' even if it is a bit more work and searching..when done that 302 will be awesome!
@@LGKustoms the car is pre 64. Everything changed in 65 the parts were designed to not fit. For instance the steering column is different, the bolt pattern on the back of the engine block is different. (different bell housing) lots of little things.
Just got a 60 comet and the plan is to keep it pre64 for this exact reason. Mines got the little 144 so not sure what to swap yet…will just be happy to cruise in the spring 😊
Dang I’d love that upgrade in my 61. You guys are kick as*! Went from cruising to crushing it 🛞💨. Thanks for sharing!
That is awesome. I have a 63 with a 302 c4 setup..such a blast to drive
Cool! I’m looking forward to seeing the improvement this makes. Roast those little 13” tires! 🛞 💨
Love B.C.; nice work!
I remember those cars. I had a 63.5 Falcon Sprint with a 260 and a 4 spd.

I did this putting a 302 in a Pinto
Thanks! This is great information! I’m having trouble finding one, looks like Art Carr went out of business around 2013, but I’m still looking!
@@LGKustoms Art Carr sold out to another company and is operating under a different name. New name is California Performance Transmissions.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated

She’s quite familiar with driving both. Just got brown sugar back on the road. Took two weeks to get the replacement shifter collar!

Mustang water pump puts the rad hose on the wrong side for the radiator

I found the 5 speed ad, but it’s out of the budget unfortunately
Gotta love Ford! Hopefully it won't take long to find the proper flex plate to make it fit.
Ordered one on Monday. Hopefully it works!

Can you tell me a list of things I would need to add ac to my 1961 comet I have the 2.8l 170 inline 6
I recently uploaded a video on an AC install on a 59 Ford Galaxie. It covers everything you’ll need in that video. Thanks for watching!
Small block fords are only hard if you don't know them. That car would be better with pre 64.5 parts.

Well, now you have time to get a torque converter so you can keep it all bolted together once it's sorted.
That’s true! I’d prefer to do it once haha
@@LGKustoms Torque converter is Pro-King Transmission Part# FM120
Here! Here! Ford makes a fine motor but who wants to use one. Way too difficult to fit together different years.
It sure is, but we figured it out in the end!
