Giselle, don’t ever delete a video! When I first found you, I went back and watched every one of your vlogs and loved them all! You have educated, entertained and given me joy. Thank you so much! And do not worry about how the soap looks….homemade soap should look a little rustic….that’s how you know that it wasn’t made in factory and filled with chemicals. Have you ever made shampoo and conditioner bars? I have recently switched to using an organic all-natural shampoo bar and my hair is much healthier. Anyway, keep doing what you are doing, you are bringing joy to many, God Bless!
Please don't delete or ever think your videos aren't 'good enough '. You give us a window into a beautiful community life, full of God's love in action.
I'll hazard a guess that people who have been making soap for decades will have tough days as well. But, be encouraged that you have done what a majority of us can't... and done it well. Blessings on you, my sister-in-Jesus!
That's true, I guess sometimes when I know how beautiful other people's soaps are it can be hard to believe that they have tough days, but in then end those days get us all.

I started making soap in 2014. My soaps are not pretty, but I always cared more about the ingredients than the appearance. I learned from Anne Marie as well.

there is always a lull after a wedding. i call it feeling flubadub. i love you videos Giselle don’t ever think they need to be exciting and action packed it’s just grand seeing your daily life in the colony 🤓🇬🇧❤️
If you're ever tempted to scrap a project or delete a vlog, just take a deep breath and look at it as though you are your best friend. As Giselle's best friend what would you tell her about the vlog. Would you tell her it wasn't good enough? I don't think so. I think you would tell her that it's an accurate look into what your week was like. Life is not all bells and whistles. I see you live your life with a smile on your face even when it's not your favorite week. It's natural to have a letdown after a big event. The next time something like that is going to take place, plan a little treat that you can look forward to for the week after the event. That takes away a bit of the blahs that always follow an exciting celebration. I can't believe all the extra little things that you do to make your colony life pleasant. Like making the soap. Never be afraid to try new things, Even when they don't look exactly the same as someone else's. They're not meant to. Even God didn't make two roses exactly alike 💞

Your videos are lovely no matter what the content! Watching Kona hate baths so much but loves playing in the water is so funny, I see dogs like her all the time! It's so hard to believe how cold it is there and here in Alabama the temperature today is 96 F with a heat index or feels like temperature of over 101 F! I've 9nly just started watching this vlog and wanted to share a quick tip....pop a tea towel, cloth or towel under chopping boards. Makes chopping easier ☺️
Burn fresh coffee grounds to keep away mosquitoes. It works. The grounds act a bit like charcoal, but I assume the smell keeps them away. I buy the cheap stuff! 😊
Love your vlogs. "Boring" is fine, it's real life. Sourdough pizzas look amazing.
Tip: Get a good quality tea tree oil and put on your bites. Heals them up quickly.

You really are harsh on yourself at times Giselle, it's all about having a go and trying things,don't strive for perfection its way overated and if everything was perfect nothing would get learned along the way as many a new idea has come from the trying of crafts and making just about anything!
Your soap looked fabulous and I'm 100% sure those who were recipricantes of it were very grateful and pleased to receive such lovely soap.
The wind has & is just horrendous in the uk at the moment also and the rain 🌧 its pouring down daily and it even hailed today 🤦♀️ not much sign of summer now.

I love how the peppermint soap came out! I can smell it from Oklahoma. I love peppermint.
All soap makers have had sticky soap batches. If you decrease the amount of water you are using for your lye, it will help. Lots of books encourage 3 to 1 water to lye, but I use 2 to 1 and you can go as low as 1 to 1, but the batter may move fast. I think 2 water to 1 lye is perfect. Or you can let the loaf sit for longer-up to a week, but I can never wait that long though.
I have seen other hutterite colonies make soap but they used a whole wearhouse floor to dry it on. It was used for clothes washing and everything else. Plain old-fashioned lye soap. Not so good for the skin if your skin is dry. That hutterite group is Mittllute in the USA. They are a bit more communial with a single tax for the whole ranching colony. I hopr the new couple are getting along well.

This is a great video. I enjoy watching the “boring” ones too. For the soap, even professional soap makers make mistakes or have soaps come out differently than intended. I think that yours were excellent.

Okay.. so, to someone that has no idea how to make soap, you look like a pro! I love the blue/teal one! When you cut it and showed the inside, it totally wowed me! It was beautiful and also reminded me of the ocean!
There wasn’t a thing wrong with your vlog. I enjoyed all of it! It sort of reminds me of the verse, I have come so that you may have life abundantly. Don't ever delete!! You won't learn soap making unless you make mistakes and learn for them. that's with every thing. I think your soaps turned out great. Do you sell them? It's okay your don't have to have excitement. I like to listen to the rhythm of the life you live. except for the wind... wow!! it would pick up a child and take them away. Pizza looks amazing.
Giselle, a deep utility sink on feet ( sometimes called laundry tubs) are great for bathing dogs. It would be easier on your back too because you could stand up. Plus the tub would keep her in one spot and save a little water
If you let your soap bars dry until they are hard, they will last longer. I used to make soap and I would put a bar in my clothing and linen drawers and they worked as sachets while they dried.
I have to keep my cats out of my tea, also. I enjoy mint tea, and I generally leave the tea bag in while I'm drinking, and the kitties like to reach in and pull out the tea bag while I'm not looking! Needless to say, I don't drink it after that!!

I love that you make soap! My mom taught me how to make soap and I make all of our soap for the family. I came across instructions to make in the blender, game changer! When I make it, I make a lot and then Im good for a while. Love your blog, keep it coming!
Our dog, as she has gotten older, has aquiered grass allergies, which cause her eyes to weep gooies and makes her feet itchy. We give her children's liquid Tylenol . Our vet told us to use it. Check with your own vet, though 😊

I prefer these random vlogs, real life. Also the wedding week may have been more exciting for you than it was for us since we really couldn’t see anything from it for privacy reasons, so don’t ever worry about what you feel is a boring vlog, I’m really enjoying this one! Also just a note about Kona’s wagging tail during her shower, my DIL is a dog trainer and tail wagging sometime indicates happiness but can also be a stress reaction…a fact I recently learned
