God I despise these types of tourists that treat wild animals as toys….and when they inevitably get hurt, it leads to the animal getting put down for safety concerns, unless said animal is protected or under study, like with the case of Grizzly 399.

based oh the situation i'd say it could be. impersonation of ANY job is already illegal by default, and you can only legally fire someone for misconduct or incompetence. in the US, yes its true that you can get fired for 'anything', but those are the two actually fully legal reasons.
with a good lawyer this girl mightve been able to press some charges if she'd wanted, especially with the video evidence.

I really hate the trying to 'catch' people thing. I have adhd/autism and zone out in a random direction and look around a lot and have caught myself accidentally zoning out staring somewhere inappropriate and it makes me super anxious as it is. Most people are just looking in a direction, why would you think they're looking specifically at you? I used to get people asking why I'm looking at them a lot and I'm just like "What? No, you just happen to be where I'm facing."

I've had that. Once a guy in a pub was about ready to fight me because he reckoned I was staring at him - though he may have just been claiming he thought I was staring so he could goad me to anger at his accusation and justify him fighting me. Another time a guy thought I was staring at him, I was inside a shop at night time, zoned out and looking in the direction of the plate glass window - that was providing me with nothing but a reflection of the well-lit interior of the shop - and he was *outside* where I couldn't see him. These guys really need to learn the skills my school teachers had... *_they_* could tell I had zoned out and wasn't really looking at them or paying attention...

    • @rumplstiltztinkerstein
      @rumplstiltztinkerstein 4 месяца назад +59

To be honest, pranks have always been something really bad. Media companies showing pranks are terrified of getting sued or worse when they do "pranks" in their comedy shows, which is why they tried to be careful. Random people with cellphones have no reason to care. They are not getting fired for harassing someone. And they get lots of likes.

The amazingest part about the fake "empaths" (and how you know they're fake) is that though they were all driven to "tears" by the supposed "sad plight" of "an elder sitting/eating alone", *_not one of them_*_ picked up their plate and went to sit with said elder_ to "rectify" the situation. I'm thinking about someday when I'm 70 years old. I go down to my local diner by myself to enjoy a tasty burger or something. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a couple of young people crying and think 'Oh no, I hope they're okay.' Then I overhear one of them say something like "Wahhh that old lady over there is all alone."
I'm going to get up, shuffle over to their table and ask them if they would like to be my friend. You know, since I'm so lonely and all. And when they inevitably cringe in discomfort and start making up excuses, I'll remind them to mind their own fking business.

When you see them (most often you first hear them), it's best to retreat slowly and quietly, especially if you sear young boars (who are really cute). Idk why but the crying mom reminded me of the story where a woman had 2 kids with her ex husband and now that she was remarrying, her fiancé wanted to DNA test the kids to make sure they were his.
As in, he wants to test her children with her ex husband that were 3 and 5 when he got together with her.
Why? Because he thought the adoption process would change their DNA so he would be their biological father. Despite her, his mother, his father, and several books explaining why this wasn’t possible, he threw a fit and insisted that if the kids didn’t stop being selfish and change their DNA, then the marriage is off and he gave them a week to change their minds and also provide a DNA test confirming it.
His mom called her on the low and gently insisted she not even wait the week to leave her pinecone of a son because he keeps insisting adoption changes DNA.
ETA: he misinterpreted everyone telling him that adopting children makes them yours and then just died on that hill.

It's not considered an invasion of privacy because there's no expectation of privacy in public. Some places have had court cases over the past few years debating whether upskirting is legal or not. The argument that it is legal is that you're in public and have no privacy, even from an upward angle.
The argument against it is that it is sexual harassment and the expectation is that people's eyes aren't near the sidewalk and thus wearing a skirt is not normally exposing yourself the same as if you walked around in your underwear.
States and countries have come down on different sides of that issue.
Sometimes the filming in public issue could also conflict with security cameras. Many stores want to watch outside their store as well. Where you can't film in public, they can't do that. They can only film you when you're inside the store. Then you have places like London where government-owned surveillance cameras actually use AI to track every individual person around the city. That's an invasion of privacy to some people and ensures public safety to other people.
So it's not always clear cut.

His wife has book club once a week so he goes to the movies by himself. He wasn't lonely, did it on purpose to have alone time.
I started doing the same once a fortnight. Sweet man he is, he actually approached me, thinking I might be lonely.

@@zingakielinska not sure if it's exactly the same as I live in a different country, but one tactic of the apartheid regime was to make people believe black people are weak and simple-minded, like children. And so white people would very much belittle them by treating them as such and calling them child-like endearments. It's a form of humiliation. And often they had to play the part back and address the white person like someone much older than them to "show respect". We had a discussion about it in highschool and one kid brought up it's actually a common tactic for oppressors to paint the oppressed as both dangerous/ strong/ a threat and naive/ confused/ stupid. That way you can incite fear into the public to gain control but not so much fear that they lose doubt in the oppressor's ability to "defeat" them. I feel like I'm a bit fuzzy on getting the idea across as this happened quite a long while ago, and obviously I don't know if it's the same since different countries have different histories and cultures.

But the vast majority simply went out on their own for a bit of 'me' time or because they didn't fancy going around the mall, etc. so sat down with a newspaper or book whilst their other half was busy elsewhere. Its important to be aware of loneliness and check in on neighbours, relatives, etc. but it's also important to be aware that alone doesn't necessarily mean lonely.

I'm used to being home alone all day while he's at work and my youngest child (a teenager) is at school. I almost went batshit during lockdown because they wouldn't gtfo and I couldn't do my normal routine, had to clean around them, etc. I love them like everything but I also love the time I have alone. I had a bunch of crappy relationships when I was younger and in my early 30s decided to be good company to myself. One thing I really prefer to do alone is shop for clothes. I'm kind of picky about clothes and how they fit and feel and when others are with me, I feel like I'm tak8ng up too much time or making them wait on me. So I'll go shopping and sometimes eat al9ne. To answer the bad driver's question: those yellow concrete posts are there to prevent a car from damaging the bank's equipment or building.
If you try to say, drive into the ATM close enough that it or the structure encasing it would be damaged, you'd bounce off of the post instead. Further, they're usually positioned so that you can't angle your vehicle to directly impact them without having the car be totaled. This way you can not smash and grab all the money in the ATM and make a getaway.
The ones for the pneumatic tubes are only there to prevent damage, as theft isn't a concern there.

He climbed up w a ladder when the squirrel froze in fear of height when it first tried to climb the tallest tree in the backyard, and he let it cling onto his arm so tightly he got little clawmarks as he carried it back down. (A squirrel, afraid of heights!! - though nw it got over it!)

It seems many people, especially Americans, seem to think we keep animals in labs and just cross their DNA or make them breed with other species. Cross breeding is 90% a natural occurrence that happened in the wild. Same with genetic evolution. It happens naturally. Stop trying to ascribe everything that happens naturally as "human engineered" just cause it looks messed up. There is plenty of messed up things nature has created.
