Nah...I totally get the crying over the role (you already had played a couple of times). We all need to feel like we are still being seen and challenged, especially getting older and out of that "she's so talented and developing so quickly stage". I cried over the role I got cast in my last semi-prof. MT show...for 3/4 of the rehearsal time...after every rehearsal. I was so NOT challenged with it. It made me feel like all my hard work was for nothing. So I personally absolutely get it. Congrats on your achievement!
My studio doesn't usually do a Nutcracker but this year we are doing a shortened Nutcracker and I'm a snowflake! You being snow queen is giving me extra motivation lol

Watching these videos always makes me so incredibly happy. I danced for 11 years of my life, and I miss it so much. Unfortunately, I had a (benign, thankfully) tumor in my fibula right near my ankle not once but twice and needed 2 surgeries and 2 bone grafts. Since then, my ankle has never been the same and no amount of training would get it to be stable enough to dance on pointe again or be at the level I wanted to be. So, in some ways, I get to live vicariously through you Luna! The Nutcracker is one of my favorite things ever, just in general, and this year I would've been Snow Queen at my local studio's production. So now I can watch you and follow along in the journey with you. Thank you for letting me dance with you!
This vlog almost made me cry idk I’m just so proud of you in your ballet journey and you’ve come so far and for everything to be so cyclical is emotionally
I absolutely hated running at the start of the year but I formed a running group with my friends (one of them was already super into running) and they “pressured” me into running at the beginning and we took it slow. Lots of walking, little less running. Concentrating on how it feels rather than time and distance and 5 months later I absolutely love running! Maybe taking swimming lessons could also help your cardio, it helped me a lot!
CONGRATULATIONS LUNA!!!!! I have been in the nutcracker 4 times I totally understand the frustration of getting the same part multiple times. You are an amazing dancer and such an inspiration to young dancers such as me!! You are so talented and I hope that you keep dancing in the nutcracker next year too because I know that you will do an amazing job and maybe even get to do the dew drop fairy or sugar plum fairy!!! This gave me motivation to finally go for a solid triple pirouette on demi pointe and try not to be afraid of pirouettes on pointe… I‘m 25 btw and have been dancing for 20 years, but oh well it has always been only a hobby😅
This is amazing! I love watching how the choreography comes together for dancers because I’m a classical pianist and plays the Celeste part with the orchestra in the pit and we never get to see what goes up onstage! ❤ 🎹

Legit, my current trick is to run my variations in a mask (just like during the pandemic) or try talking or talking or along to your movement, speaking through the whole thing as if I’m teaching the choreography. Either one adds a huge cardiovascular work, and when I can run it twice in a mask- or speaking, I find I am much less winded and ready to conquer either the coda or the fatigue which comes from giving your all.

Dude, Lemon Balm has big personal significance to me and seeing you bust out that huge bag of tea feels like a sign. I’ve been struggling where ballet is concerned, feeling like I’m worthless and don’t deserve it. And I feel like watching this vlog about ballet and then a massive bag of lemon balm tea shows up is the sign for me to keep pushing through, and to push away the negative self talk, and to know that ballet was meant to be in my life for very special reasons.
