  • After a great first day and evening at Tamboti Camp, Karen and I head out early to catch the sunrise and explore the area between Tamboti and Satara. We’re richly rewarded with a number of early morning sightings, include Lion, Cheetah and Leopard. As the day wears on and we make our way to Satara camp and explore the roads down to Sweni Hide and back, we encounter everything from Elephant, Giraffe and Kudu, to Crocodile, Wildebeest and Waterbuck. It’s an action packed day in the park - and another great self-drive safari day, in what has to be, the greatest wildlife park on earth.

A fantastic road trip video and you show us so many fantastic areas. This truly a well made video that a tourist department would be proud to use as they sell Kruger as a tourist destination. Thank you for sharing 👋👋👋😀

Haha. Yes - just sitting there in the middle of the Satara camp. Apparently a regular/resident visitor in and around Satara.

Fantastic, super lucky with the cats. We're on countdown here in the UK with only 8 weeks to go until our north to south 3 week Kruger trip, so excited.❤

I prefer the Bush camps, but my kids have taken a liking to Skukuza. The waffle & I've cream container shop is a fantastic addition.
Some days are unbelievable in the park . 5 leopards 1 morning on the road from Skukuza to Lower Sabie.
And all the lion prides we saw were sleeping. None were eager to show their chops.
Other days you see squat. But at least I visited Mlondozi. And saw loads of Nyala down south which was surprising.
Lake Panic hide re opened. Possibly the best bird hide in knp.

Lake Panic is indeed a favourite hide of mine. Yup - I agree with you on the bush camps - the wilder and more rustic, the better. For a short stay in KNP, Skukuza is great - even better if you have kids.
Thanks for the comment Damian - glad you enjoyed the episode. 👊

What a cracking episode which we enjoyed from start to finish. We spent 4 nights last year at Satara and would have happily spent 4 weeks there if we could have! If we can visit KNP again we will be definitely going back there. Thanks for sharing your latest adventure and we are looking forward to the next episode. All the best Karl & Alison

Thanks guys - appreciate the comment. Glad you enjoyed. Yes - mid-park Satara is so good isn’t it. Lots of game - not as busy as the South, in terms of volumes of vehicles - good camp setup.
