In this video I take you through my most recent drawing 'Solitude' from start to finish. I break down the process step for step and explain the different tools and techniques I used along the way. I found it really interesting to go back and find words to describe the different stages and I'm hoping to make more videos like this soon. This might help anyone looking for how to get realistic skin textures or improve pencil shading techniques. I've just done an art course and we were asked about where we got our inspiration. Mine was easy. I said you. Thank you for inspiring me to embrace my graphite more. My art has taken off since doing so. Mind you I still have a long way to go to get to your standard, but I'm getting there.

Wow! I just came across your channel yesterday and I’m completely hooked! I always favoured drawing over painting and based on my art teachers compliments, I was fairly good at it. Work, family and life in general, being what they are have all contributed towards no time to sit with pencil and paper for several decades now, but watching you has really reignited a long forgotten passion of mine. Really admire your work, the level of care is inspiring. I've been struggling with getting my portraits more realistic, i never feel satisfied enough about my finished work, still couldn't figure out how to get them more realistic, I appreciate your advice on the graphite mixed with the solvent so maybe I'll give that a try wuen I'm equipt. Truly amazing work! Woaw.

Hey Jono, by ‘graphite and a solvent’ what solvent do you use, I’ve really been trying to get a thick, black background for my pieces. I work in a well ventilated studio so don’t worry 😂
He mentioned turpentine in the video so maybe that’s it?
I use good old Turpentine - plenty of ventilation required 🙏
