Basically, JVKE is a fake. Every time he plays his song for people or "out in public", it's all fake shit and people don't realize that it is. It's disgusting honestly.

And yet, no one has discussed this topic or addressed it.
Let me clear up some things. You guys are all taking about him transposing, because he is using an electric piano. I know he is, and I know how it works. However, even if it is what he's doing. The notes don't match up at all. And, if he is changing the keys to play different note than usual, then that's just very odd. I get focusing on singing and what not, but if you literally cannot play the piano normally and sing at the same time, I hate to break it to ya, but you're most likely not that good and need some more practice.
I quote a better transposer in the comments, ".. . if you look closely, you can see his right hand goes d4-e4-g4-a4 and then back down (which is still wrong but) . . . basically, he's playing in e minor instead of f# minor (in scale degrees, this is 7-1-3-4-3-1-7)" ( @agsuh3568 ).
As you can see, taking these notes and inputting them into a software like musescore, matching up the rhythm and everything, it is still very wrong.
And another thing to add, in multiple live performances, he has literally stood up from the piano and continued singing while the piano kept playing. There's also a part in the song where he lifts his left hand and reaches over to play a note to the right of his right hand on the piano, all while the left-hand part continues uninterrupted.
JVKE is a fake and will remain a fake.

That's literally what he said in another video of someone breaking down his skills and whatever. I mean, no disrespect but it's just hilarious to even ask that question. Of course everyone would want you to spend a thousand hours to perfect your performance, Jesus. Using technology to make your days easier is just another definition of how lazy this new generation gets. I mean, you can still practice as you're writing something new. Besides, he won't write anything new until he's fully milked the cash out of that song. It's been already 6 months since he dropped that and well, he's only made another song so far. I mean like- okay? I understand the process of writing something new, I'm a writer and performer myself yeah, but that argument up there literally says that he would use technology to speed the process up, so I guess even that wouldn't be possible, because he's just like every other human being. It's okay to have some deficits when it comes to your own talents, but don't make it sound like you have a thousand excuses for these.
Plus, it doesn't even take 100+ hours to perfect the song, because if you are a musician, specializing in the Piano. It wouldn't take you 100+ hours 💀

I don't get it. The song is not hard to play. I am not a pro pianist but I still was able to play the song in less than an hour. This song deserves the time for how beautiful it sounds.

I never seen him play golden hour in F#(the original) he mostly played the song on D. IMO, he actually play the song in D, but he find out that the song sounds better in F#. He probably always played the song in D bcs it was *A LOT* easier than F#

he has something called "transpose" that he either raised or lowered in order to play in c major (all white keys) so his tta that he shown his hs music teacher and piano teacher his golden hr song
it’s actually impossible to play golden hour exactly how he composed it because he made it with like 10 pianos playing on top of eachother which you can’t play with two hands. He plays that version because it’s all you can play, I mean other composers have managed to get close to the real sound but physically it’s impossible to play it. JVKE puts the sound he wants while he plays over the piano because he wants the listeners to feel all of the emotion and feeling throughout the song rather than just him playing a few basic notes, it just doesn’t give the same effect. There are also a combination of instruments such as violin being played in the background, if you look at the live performance he did at the Jimmy Fallon tonight show that’s him playing it live with no back track. Well if he can do it live, why not a music video? That makes zero sense. And also why post fake vids about him playing golden hour for other people "out in public" while not even playing the rights notes (like anywhere near the right notes).
The short where he recorded himself playing golden hour for his teacher or something, he wasn't playing the right notes and was using autotune even though supposedly there wasn't a mic in front of him. He looked like he was just lip syncing his own song which is hella depressing.

When he posted those videos of his teachers reacting, it would’ve been underwhelming to just have the basic notes he was playing instead of the actual song. He literally tuned the song to a frequency you cant usually play (he explains this on his tik tok). When he plays it live he doesn’t need to add the background music as there is either violins playing live or he’s singing and duet. He wants to advertise his song in its true form and if he did that without all the musical features it wouldn’t capture the real tone of the song.

There's literally a "live" video of him fake playing the piano and stopping midway to only sing. If you're not knowledgeable about piano and you try to argue when every single sensible person who plays the piano says he's faking it, you're beyond saving because you don't understand what the point is anyway.
It’s not a masterpiece, it is easy to play, and it is easy to play while singing. If I liked the song, I could do all that in under an hour. What makes a song difficult to sing is not how technical the piano accompaniment is (this accompaniment is not technically challenging at all, though), it’s how the rhythm of the voice fits with the accompaniment. The singing matches the piano’s rhythm (impulse) almost exactly.

No he isn't. In one part of the video and in live performance. He releases his left hand off the piano while the left hand part of the song is still playing to play an octave up from his right hand playing.
And there is also a part in the song where he goes down chromatically, which he obviously does not do.

@@JVKES_SECRETS Key doesn't matter lol. I could play it in any key, and while sounding different, it technically isn't different because it's the same exact connectivity of the notes. But, there is a part in the song where he goes down chromatically, and wouldn't ya know it, he doesn't hit a single black key in the song. Also, there are parts where he completely lifts his left hand off the piano to play a secondary part on the upper register (when you could just extend out your pinkie, it isn't that hard).
And also, not to mention him lying about being an indie artist. And lying about helping people in public play his song, or playing it for one of his "school teachers" (that video was the fakest shit ever btw.).
When I watched the official music video of Golden Hour, I immediately noticed his hands in the piano. As a pianist, I pointed it out to other people but almost non of them seem to care about it. Since there is a difference of learning it in multiple keys and transposing it manually, it shows skill to transpose manually. Great video about this 👌

A german pianist made a video about this. JVKE doesn't fake the song or his music he just uses a transpose button so he can play it in C major to use all white keys instead of playing in f sharp minor.

Yeah.. no. Even if it was tuned a certain way. The notes he is pressing are all wrong. It wouldn't make sense for him to play an F and have it play a completely different note, etc. It just doesn't add up, no one in a million years would do that.

This isn't anything new. Artists have been miming instruments in promotion videos for ages, it's not just limited to singers.
Some are claiming he is a complete scam though that didnt even write the song. How do you know its not him on the audio and he's just a bad mimer (basically he heard the riff and got software to realise what hears but can't actually play it and just guessed at what it would play like)

I saw one of the "playing for his teacher" videos a while ago, and I saw another video playing for another one of his teachers some days after. I immediately noticed he was using the same audio and after watching a second time, I was appalled at his piano skills and how fake it was. I just pressed don't recommend channel and moved on. Yesterday, I saw one of his videos on Instagram, and I immediately remembered, and googled if people also noticed how fake he was, and to my surprise, there are not that many people exposing him, and there's even some people like amosdoll who doens't even realize that half of them aren't even just "transposed", but literally have the studio version on top of it... Thank god there are also people like you and werdemusiker that do point out how much he is lying tho.
