  • This is the second version of yogurt making using my bread maker. before this I made a lots of yogurt and happy with the texture and taste and I upload a video of how to make using my bread maker. And one of my lovely subscriber gave me tips on how to make a thicker and more delicious yogurt. Wow! I love her tips and make one and this is the result! Love it! Thank you !
    Below the recipe for making 2 liter yogurt for both 1 & 2 paddles pan
    2 1/2 spoon yogurt with live cultures (check the label of yogurt when buying)
    2 cartons ( 1 liter each x 2 ) full cream milk ( Don't use skim milk or less fat )
    1/2 cup ( 65 g ) full cream milk powder

    After you've made the first yogurt successfully, keep aside a small portions aside in different container in the fridge. Use it as starter to make your future yogurt and no need to buy any yogurt to make a new yogurt. And you can repeat until 6 to 7 times. After that, buy a new yogurt to make a starter again. Happy yogurt making.🥰

      Why only 6-7times ..Can't we keep saving some for next yogurt making and doing this forever?..I heard some people never buy starter anymore.

    Using this recipe for my 1L yoghurt maker, halving the recipe ofc.
    Trying to look up yoghurt recipes that use milk and milk powder is impossible because all get is water and milk powder yoghurt 😭 so this is the best recipe for me 💖💖

    Hello, Thanks for sharing your recipe. As for kneading, how many second should i knead? How about 30 secs?
    For Yogust as starter, do you recommend any brand or so long as it contains live and active cultures will do?
    And for Full Cream Milk and Powder, is it good for me to use Firmleaf or Dutch Lady?

      Hi, you only use 'knead' till they all mixed, 20 to 30 seconds should be enough. I use all brands 😅, as long as they have live cultures. I always use Anchor brand for full cream milk and I use both brands for powder milk. You can use other brands too and they gives slightly different in taste, find which one you like.     Hi is yoghurt settings the same as jam settings. My bread maker is a few years old now

      Hi, Yogurt setting is not Jam setting, they are so much different. In Yogurt setting cycles, the machine only keep the best temperature for yogurt making, it didn't have boiling or mixing involved. I hope my answer helps. Thank you for watching and happy baking~🥰

    Hi, I see your last step is cover the whole pan and keep refrigerator before use & store in container. Can I store in container first then only keep into refrigerator? Because My fridge doesn't have much space to keep the whole thing.

    Hi, i love your videos. Anyway, my bread maker doesn’t have any yogurt button, can I make some yogurt?

      Yes, you can but you need to take out your bread pan after you did all except the yogurt setting and leave it in the oven with the lowest setting you can, leave it for 8 hours. Another way is put your bread pan in Styrofoam Ice Box / Cooler Box ( white colour ) the one we can find in many shops. Put one bowl of hot water beside your bread bowl and leave them in for 8 hours.       Use store bought yogurt that have live cultures in it as yogurt starter. My other yogurt video have the photo showed in the video. I hope it help. Happy yogurt making!🥰

      Do you have the the Yogurt setting? If you have then you can heat the milk until near boiling point and stir for a few second, then leave it to cool until slightly warm, you can test by dipping your little finger and if you feel slightly warm and not hot, then you can add the yogurt and mix, then put into bread maker and start yogurt setting.     I try make 1 litre, but it seems hve more whey than yours seems no whey at all. What do you think? I think its bcoz temp fermenting could be high just for 1 litre milk.

      I can't say much about that because I've never make in that amount. I think the amount of protein in different brands of milk also make slightly different texture. And please don't milk powder for baking ( those found at baking shops ), use milk powder for babies or for young children instead, they make the best and tastier yogurts. I hope my answer helps.     I made yogurt with just milk and plain yogurt culture, set it on yogurt setting but it comes out like liquid

      Sorry to hear that. May I know if you follow all the method? How about the temperature? Did you wait till the milk is warm and not cold before adding yogurt culture? Before I set my milk on Yogurt setting, I did heat it until it just below boiling, (showed in the video by using Jam setting) The Yogurt must be the one with Probiotic live yogurt cultures on the label. Don't lose hope, why don't you try again and follow all the tips here and see. Good luck!🥰

      Yes you can. Just make sure the yogurt is the one with live culture, and let the milk cool to warm not hot before add yogurt. happy baking!🥰

      Hi, I think it's better to do a large portions because I've tried with half the amount and it spill a little, large amount wont. I hope it helped.

      Your Hamilton Beach 29885c bread maker have jam and yogurt setting? If have surely it can.

      I've checked, your bread maker only have jam setting but don't have yogurt setting. But you still can do by following until the mixing of yogurt starter and keep your bread pan in a cooler box with a bowl of boiling water. Keep for 8 hours without disturbing. Happy yogurt making!🥰

    Hi, is whipping cream and full cream milk is the same thing? Can you please share full cream milk picture ( I'm in Canada)! I use 3.2% milk for yogurt, some time it come out perfect but sometimes it doesn't look good. I make it in the oven. Do you boil milk before putting in the machine?

      Whipping cream and full cream milk are different. Their milk content are different. I heated milk until near boiling in the bread machine using Jam setting, then let it cool down to just warm before adding yoghurt. I hope my answer helps.       Hmmm I've never made one with any flavor, so I can't say can or not, I love making plain yogurt because I can eat with anything available at home, honey, jams, grain, nuts, fresh fruits, cookies, cakes and many times made as ingredients to make my cakes and breads.       @@NanaNana-hl1ysOh, that's why... By the way we only can make yogurt starter from our own yogurt 5 to 6 times, after that we need to get new yogurt culture to make new yoghurt. I hope it help.

      Hi, you shouldn't leave more than 8 hours, but if you add one more time yogurt setting then it should be ok. If the machine is without setting the temperature drops and not suitable for yogurt cultures.

    What is the maximum amount it can make? Can i make 3L yogurt in that bread maker?

      Definitely can if you heat and mixing the milk in regular pot, when it's cooled down, add yogurt and pour it into bread pan and set to Yogurt setting. Or you can watch my other video here ruclips.net/video/z_QY8YxcNuk/видео.html
      The reason I won't recommend to do it straight away in this pan is when it mix 3L of milk, it might spill out. I hope my answer helps. Happy yogurt making!🥰

      follow all then after milk already mix with yogurt, put in a container and put in cooler box ( the one people keep ice while traveling / Styrofoam box ) with hot water for 8 hours, or you can put in the oven with hot water/ or the lowest temperature, yogurt need to be kept warm but not hot.       Making soy milk drink dont need a bread maker, just soak the bean overnight, remove the skin then wash till water runs clear before blend until fine with some water. Use a strainer or cheesecloth and stain all the milk and boil. Thank you for watching and happy baking.🥰

    I am waiting for my yogurt to be done right now. But I am worried it may be a failure. Coz I dump the yogurt culture into cold milk and then start the machine.
    If it doesn't turn to yogurt, should I trow in another packet of culture starter and set for another 8hrs?

      When I first started, I did the same and my yoghurt came out watery, not set at all. Only after I heat it till near boiling before let it cool down until warm but not hot, then my yoghurt become nice, creamy and set nicely. I can't say much about what will happen if you add the starter again and repeat cos I've never done it that way. The reason milk need to be reheat to near boiling point is to reduces the number of spoilage organisms in the milk to provide a better environment for the starter cultures to grow.     I followed your recipe using the same machine but my yoghurt came out watery, unlike yours which was thicker. Did I do something wrong? I opened the lid many times during the 8 hours when it was in the machine by the way, is that something I should avoid doing?

      Sad to know yours didn't turn out as expected. yes, you should not open the lid, during the process. By the way did you the correct yogurt? We can only use yogurt that have live cultures in it, should written on the label. And milk temperature need to be warm and not too hot or it will kill the cultures. Don't lose hope, try again and I'm sure you will get it right.🥰

      @@theweatherisaokay4964 okay, I'm deciding on trying it again but I'd like to make half the amount of yoghurt your recipe makes. Do I set the same amount of time as the original recipe? Or should I reduce the time?

      @@chungcol4818 Time needed is the same, 8 hours is enough, please make sure you are using the correct yogurt, and after your milk is heated, let it cool down to warm and not hot before adding yogurt. Good luck there!💪💪
