Dmitry Orlov was born in Leningrad, USSR, into an academic family, and emigrated to the US in the mid-1970s. He holds degrees in Computer Engineering and Linguistics, and has worked in a variety of fields, including high-energy physics, Internet commerce, network security and advertising. He is the author of several previous books, including Reinventing Collapse and The Five Stages of Collapse.
Excellent Channel! Dimitri as a guest is one of my favorite. His knowledge and humour are as sharp as a diamond tip.

Dmitry Orlov is one of the few guests on any channel I try never to miss. Sharp, knowledgable, highly intelligent and brings a clear Russian perspective. Thank you both to Dmitry and to Nima.

Mr Orlov’s theory that it was the US that did the exploding pagers attack is interesting, but probably incorrect.
The emergency movement of tanks by Israel to their Northern border can have an alternative explanation: It appears that HZB may have discovered the pagers plot and were about to throw them all away. And Israel found out about this and decided to explode all the pagers ahead of time, before HZB got rid of the pagers. And this would explain why the Israeli army was not yet ready to invade Lebanon when the pagers were exploded.

Wow! The zinger at the very end! The Americans were responsible for the pagers going off, as revealed by the fact that doctors at American Hospital in Beirut were told to get rid of their pagers, just before the event. Then the US went and immediately pointed the finger at Izz ra el, and called it a terrorist act. I had heard about the doctors at American Hospital, but I didn't put two and two together. Thanks for connecting the dots, Dmitri! Definitely the truth.

From my personal experience, the most patriotic Ukrainians are those who left Ukraine the moment war started (and some even before that) and now are living in the west. They all have little blue and yellow flags on their profiles (and more than often na$i symbols) and by default are , or 1. very rich themselves (oligarchs or children of oligarchs), or 2, live more than comfortable with the money their new EU countries are giving them.
I admit, I never saw such patriotic people in my life. Guess further form the front line, more patriotic you are. Especially when you are patriotic somewhere in Norway or Netherlands, spending other people's money on online games or shopping - and/or spitting vicious drek in some yt comment section.
As always the discussion between you two is thoughtful and enjoyable, even if the subject is terrible.
