For anyone who doesn't listen to the podcast, my favorite bit of trivia about this episode is that the production team had an actor dressed up like a genie who was going to come out when John rubbed his magic lamp and help him with the task, but then John just hucked the lamp over the caravan without ever rubbing it so none of that got to happen. 29:21 "Did I ask for these potatoes? Did I ask for these pens??? Oh-oh, hello!" That little bit just made me laugh so hard. Fern was easily my favorite this series

Sarah's questioning of Dara's pint going over the caravan was very Rose Matafeo and Ed Gamble. When Greg said things tend to get this way at this point in the series I immediately thought of them.
@@thatoneguybrandon7 I stumbled at first, too, but I guess the resoning is this: Task 1 - throw one object over the caravan - done. Task 2 - fully cover one object with another object. Really? No... someone must have at some point right? Al 'Moneybags' Murray must have tried to hire someone to do something, right? I would love someone to check and see
It was very good! But if his person was the object meant to cover the other object, then he shouldn't have touched that cider at all. He didn't follow the task!
Watching this series I felt that Dara was way more dominant than winners in other series, and it's supported by the numbers; not only the highest points total in Taskmaster history, but also the highest percentage of total points possible. Source: Taskmaster wiki.
there are so many Fern moments to appreciate this finale. from the 3rd tarot card, hitting bullseye without Zimbabwe darts, to do I know these potato and letting bird fly, I love her 'I'm so excited to be on TM, but tired myself night before" energy
Fern might have finished tied for last, but she was by far my favorite in this series. She was so lovable, adorable, creative, and at times so unhinged, that she was just so much fun to watch.
I love Fern so much - her tarot card bit at the beginning was awesome, and it completely went over Greg's head. Also, her "It just seemed obvious to me to let the bird fly" made me want to hug her for being such a sweet soul.
What was the part that went over his (and potentially my) head? Isn't it just five comedians battling it out with sticks, Greg the Devil sitting on his throne annd... well, I'm not entirely certain about the middle card, the naive interpretation of the show being just silly fun seems too obvious?
So this was the first task they ever received. John went to put his coat on the door hook but there wasn't one and it fell. That's why in every other task we see him just chuck his coat on the floor! It all makes sense now! 😂
Thank you, I've been looking for that comment. I didn't notice that he's throwing it on the floor until episode 7 or so... So I guess I have to re-watch 1-6? 😅
I’m always sad watching the last episode of a series, especially when they’re as good as this series. This one is in my top 5 favorite series for sure.
I'm gonna be honest, I really thought john had a secret task and was doing a long con on being last place of the series. its almost extraordinary how bad he did at every task lolol i love it
people keep saying he did horribly at every task but he won a lot of tasks. He tied with Fern, and was only 6 behind Munya. He performs terribly on SOME tasks and magnificently on others. It's just his mess-ups are more memorable than his victories.
He started off really rough, but I feel like they put tasks together for that narrative. Then he actually started crushing some tasks, and even won a few episodes. Nice little redemption arc, there. 👍🏻
Before looking, i thought that was when Fern said "can you get me a green felt tip pen? I cant they're COVERED in potatos" and was like yeah no thats tattoo inspo right there 🤣
This episode had the best banter during any Prize Task reveal imo (5:28) -- all 5 contestants took turns upselling their gifts with a witty bon mot. Def my favorite moment of the series.
Dara is the man, genuinely seemed to enjoy himself on Taskmaster. He actually looked emotional when he won. Makes it fun to watch. What an amazing cast this series. Love it!
He looked like an absolute genius compared to the other contestants. I don't doubt Sarah is intelligent, but her comedy style often revolves around apathy to life and she brought that to many of the tasks. The others? I kept wanting to be a school teacher for a moment and call their parents to see if everything was okay at home. What is wrong with them?
I adored this cast above all others. Dara was genius, his performance in John’s theatrical was worth the price of admission. Sarah was brilliant with buoyant positivity and shocking surprise. John’s hang-dog, ground-down, Everyman was touching and poignant. Munya’s immodest, irrepressible, self-confidence was inspiring. Fern the people’s champion should be cast as the next Doctor Who replacing Ncuti Gatwa in 2027 because she’s amazing and timeless. 14th Series was the greatest …. I’ll watch it again and again.
Fern asked for a "bag of potatoes" but received a pile. I feel like she was set up to fail this task. Spreading all the pens out and giving her SO many, when all she asked for was "pens". They could have left them in a pack. Pens in a pack could easily be thrown or covered by "bag of potatoes". They don't spread out all of Sarah's chocolate, they melt it together.
What John does with his coat by throwing it or hanging it up on thin air and it just fakls yo the floor every is so simple and stupid but straight up HILARIOUS 🤣🤣 i was in tears when he hung it on the back of the door and it just dropped and he walked away 😂 its brilliant
One of the things I like about this show is how lovely the comments section is here on RUclips. Like I kept getting annoyed by one of the contestants and I’d scroll down to comments. But everyone was being so lovely about them I was just like “yea yall are right. this is a ‘me’ problem”. ❤❤
All time panel this season, absolutely obsessed with fern, so charming and silly. Sarah is an absolute delight, John and munya’s chemistry is off the charts and Dara is just classic.
Confusing continuity error: Fern's nails keep changing during the part where they pick three things for the final task. At 9:19 they're painted black, then at 9:27 they're clean, then black again at 9:31. It's all ostensibly filmed in one moment, so that doesn't make any sense. The only explanation is that they filmed this sequence with her twice for some reason. Just something I noticed.
Strange indeed. Especially since the "clean nails" part was just "That ..." (referring to the taxidermy as it is told) - which isn't needed for the narrative at all. Also everything else is placed immaculately. My first idea would be a trick of the light, but it is too extreme to really be able to be that. Maybe she ordered one item that proved to be problematic for whatever reason, had to pick a different one (the pens - no way of knowing her nails there) and this "That ..." stayed in for some reason?
I love the payoff there is great--the entire season, John's been chucking his jacket on the ground. But you see that, actually in the very first task, the very first thing John does is try to hang up his jacket properly, but he fails at it. That single failure broke his will to care about the condition of his clothing, and really foreshadowed his hilarious and tragic season.
Every time a new series goes up, I want to look up each contestant on Wikipedia and learn more about them - but I always end up finding out who the winner was by accident and spoiling the end of the series. This was the first time I remembered not to make that mistake, and now I'm excited to look up everyone's other work. (I already knew about Mock the Week.)
Primetime in Germany! Just the right time to deliver this episode. Thank you so much! This will make my day 100 times better ❤ The cast is one of my favorite. I will miss them so much. Especially Fern.
Unendlichmal besser als jede Samstagabendunterhaltung, die unser Fernsehen zu bieten hat 😂 (Vielleicht mit Ausnahme von Das Duell um die Welt, das war auch jedes Mal spitze :D)
I think Fern did comply with the letter of the task: "cover" versus "conceal" Those pens were definitely covered with those potatoes. However, she did still take nearly twice as long as all the others combined 😂
I get why she didn't but I kinda wish she had outright said it. Would've been a cool moment to see my and so many others' disability explicitly discussed in a show like Taskmaster. But then I can't genuinely say I wouldn't have skirted around it the same way she did.
Series 11 to 14 has been the best 4 series run of Taskmaster, and 14 is one of the best series. The tasks, the contestants, and the location were amazing. I hope 15 gets uploaded sooner rather than later
Loved the cast this series - everyone was funny and fun to watch, and there was very little sniping between contestants. I was rooting for the ever-wonderful Sarah throughout, but I was still quite happy to see Dara take the win. It felt very earned.

@@xenikos99 Dara is a gamer. (Without the baggage of a capital-G Gamer, I think?) Probably watches ESAMarathon twice a year.
Really? No... someone must have at some point right? Al 'Moneybags' Murray must have tried to hire someone to do something, right? I would love someone to check and see
didn't chris order a baby online last season
It was very good! But if his person was the object meant to cover the other object, then he shouldn't have touched that cider at all. He didn't follow the task!
Watching this series I felt that Dara was way more dominant than winners in other series, and it's supported by the numbers; not only the highest points total in Taskmaster history, but also the highest percentage of total points possible. Source: Taskmaster wiki.
Impressive, yet he was less fun to me than John and Fern by far 😂
Also the highest average score, although to be fair the last few series have had much higher scores on average
He has the perfect mix of intelligence and creativity to do well in most tasks, really impressive!
@@yellow6409 dont forget the right mix of exasperation to make his team of 3 hilarious
Also, there are more tasks than in early seasons
there are so many Fern moments to appreciate this finale. from the 3rd tarot card, hitting bullseye without Zimbabwe darts, to do I know these potato and letting bird fly, I love her 'I'm so excited to be on TM, but tired myself night before" energy
Fern might have finished tied for last, but she was by far my favorite in this series. She was so lovable, adorable, creative, and at times so unhinged, that she was just so much fun to watch.
Shout out to whichever member of the TM prop team constructed the A4 sized chocolate. Something tells me it was within a mm or two of exact size.
I love Fern so much - her tarot card bit at the beginning was awesome, and it completely went over Greg's head. Also, her "It just seemed obvious to me to let the bird fly" made me want to hug her for being such a sweet soul.
What was the part that went over his (and potentially my) head? Isn't it just five comedians battling it out with sticks, Greg the Devil sitting on his throne annd... well, I'm not entirely certain about the middle card, the naive interpretation of the show being just silly fun seems too obvious?
how did it go over his head when he imitated the pose in the devil card? LOL
It didnt go over his head lmao
So this was the first task they ever received. John went to put his coat on the door hook but there wasn't one and it fell. That's why in every other task we see him just chuck his coat on the floor! It all makes sense now! 😂
I loved that bit
Thank you, I've been looking for that comment. I didn't notice that he's throwing it on the floor until episode 7 or so... So I guess I have to re-watch 1-6? 😅
I’m always sad watching the last episode of a series, especially when they’re as good as this series. This one is in my top 5 favorite series for sure.
The last episode somehow always comes too fast...
Munya just gets so excited during the puzzle tasks. He has so much fun, he completely loses track of time 😅
Were those grape scissors the very ones that Frank Skinner offered in a series one prize task?...and, thanks Fern for thinking to set the bird free!
I was looking for this comment!
I'm gonna be honest, I really thought john had a secret task and was doing a long con on being last place of the series. its almost extraordinary how bad he did at every task lolol i love it
If they really did that and revealed a hefty bonus of points enough to put him in first place, I would lose my mind
The new Nish
people keep saying he did horribly at every task but he won a lot of tasks. He tied with Fern, and was only 6 behind Munya.
He performs terribly on SOME tasks and magnificently on others. It's just his mess-ups are more memorable than his victories.
I wondered if his sabotage task was supposed to happen on every team task. 😂
He started off really rough, but I feel like they put tasks together for that narrative. Then he actually started crushing some tasks, and even won a few episodes. Nice little redemption arc, there. 👍🏻
36:42 genuinely one of my favourite lines in the whole show. that's tattoo levels of poetic quotes
What is wrong with them?
i think i speak for all of us when i say that it doesn’t matter what place she got in the end, fern brady is still the rightful queen!
@@GarrettPDGA or maybe i just don’t care about capitalizing letters😌

I just loved Fern this series. She seems so kind hearted but SO hilarious as well. I may have a new favourite contestant ;)
It's unbeliavable how well Dara's idea to order a guy and 2 pints worked. Amazing.
I’ll watch it again and again.
watching this again after the podcast breaks my heart knowing there's a genie in the caravan waiting for john to rub the lamp
12:50
You know, there’s nothing in the task saying they can’t reach through the window and open the caravan door from the outside
There's also no reason they can't ask Alex to bring them the bowl. He might not do it, but it wouldn't hurt to try.
They don't spread out all of Sarah's chocolate, they melt it together.
well, sarah said A4 size chocolate so it was made into that
What John does with his coat by throwing it or hanging it up on thin air and it just fakls yo the floor every is so simple and stupid but straight up HILARIOUS 🤣🤣 i was in tears when he hung it on the back of the door and it just dropped and he walked away 😂 its brilliant
Yeah, I thought as that was [supposedly] the first task, maybe he genuinely tried to hang it and it fell, and that inspired him to keep it going? 🤷♀😂
This was such a brilliant series. One of the best ensembles they've ever put together. I would happily watch another ten episodes with these guys,
I’m sad that Alex didn’t do a montage of where all the other grapes were hidden.
I never thought there would be a more tragic contestant than Johnny Vegas, but here we are with John Kearns
37:18 absolute favorite line of the episode and maybe the series, I was crying
The many ways John has discarded his jacket this season 😅 has been one of my favorite Easter eggs to spot in the season
Ferns face when Alex tries to tell her not to eat the fake grape lol!!
Love this show so much. Last weeks raspberry, snort, whistle competition made me laugh all week.
I could hardly get through that because THEY could hardly get through it. I laughed until I cried!
John Kearns little whisper of "fuck it" absolutely sending me
Sarah's roast of the Taskmaster with her prize for the task is absolutely hilarious. Never have I ever seen a contestant roast Greg Davies like that.
What prize task? I thought it was the Channel 4 Comedy Roast of Greg Davies.
This was such a wonderful cast and a fantastic series, overall. I had a lot of fun, but man, John and Fern were truly delightful.
43:43 Alex's little face when Greg says "little Alex Horne" in Dracula voice =D
Alex 35:50 was so concerned when Fern bit into the potatoes it's hilarious
28:29
Alex: "Hello Fern."
Fern: "Hiya."
Alex: "Do you remember these?" Re: potatoes
Fern: "Wait. Did I meet these potatoes before?"
Best series in a while. 5/5 for competitors. Fern’s stock is about to skyrocket. Hope she makes it onto one of the Big Fat Quiz panels.
This cast is actually one of my favourite... all very likeable.
which something greg isn't as per sarah
Primetime in Germany! Just the right time to deliver this episode.
Thank you so much! This will make my day 100 times better ❤
The cast is one of my favorite. I will miss them so much. Especially Fern.
Fern is the real winner. What a gem of a human being
Her Fern Brady Her Fern Brady, she's the rightful Queen!!!
The genuine reactions from Alex and John when Greg announces he's awarding only three points to John for the fridge magnet is pure gold.
I think Fern did comply with the letter of the task: "cover" versus "conceal"
Those pens were definitely covered with those potatoes. However, she did still take nearly twice as long as all the others combined 😂
it said "completely cover" which is a big difference
They werent completely covered
"Did I Meet These Potatoes Before?" needs to be a t-shirt
@26:16 I've made several comments throughout the series but Ferns laugh is so adorable and contagious.
I love the eat the grape task! It was so nice to see something from taskmaster new zealand carry over!
Same! I love Taskmaster NZ and this is one of my favourite tasks from them. I can´t wait for the new season to start in three days :D
What a great cast this season, loved all of them equally!
Fern all but said "yeah I have autism so I interpret the tasks differently than y'all" and i love her for it
I get why she didn't but I kinda wish she had outright said it. Would've been a cool moment to see my and so many others' disability explicitly discussed in a show like Taskmaster. But then I can't genuinely say I wouldn't have skirted around it the same way she did.
What's John's reason
@@EvieCorwellshe talked about it explicitly on her Instagram :)

I love how John would either knock it out of the park or just fail miserable on the prize tasks. Love the magnet for sure.
I think this was genuinely the most enjoyable cast of contestants thus far.
John's subtle sense of humor has definitely grown on me over the season
0:01 im gonna miss that opening wuugh!!
🤌
Only Taskmaster can make me fall in total love with complete strangers.
One of the best casts of the whole show. Hilarious season! Can’t wait for the next and to catch up on others ive missed.
Of all the seasons, this cast is by far my absolute favorite.
That smile from fern at 40:23 is the cutest thing ever
Series 11 to 14 has been the best 4 series run of Taskmaster, and 14 is one of the best series. The tasks, the contestants, and the location were amazing.
I hope 15 gets uploaded sooner rather than later
Dara is a real escape room speedrunner with tons of timeskips
The Prize Task has to be one of the best ever. Couldn't stop laughing.
one of the funniest prize tasks of the entire show i think!
As a Zimbabwean, we do make things up as we go.
Fern made a decent argument for the potatoes being covered. I'm on her side, even if it didn't make a difference in scoring.
Loved the cast this series - everyone was funny and fun to watch, and there was very little sniping between contestants. I was rooting for the ever-wonderful Sarah throughout, but I was still quite happy to see Dara take the win. It felt very earned.
Munya, Sarah, and Dara were my favorites this series.
They were the smarter and more competitive ones.
Whenever I feel down or sad I go to Series 14 because Fern Brady's laugh brings me joy
08:10 - is that why John just tosses his jacket wherever at the beginning of each task?
One of the absolute best series in this show! Fern was an absolute delight!
