- When the green water returns to the jetties so does the spanish mackerel! They were all up and down the jetty rocks crushing the tiny minnows. These guys have a gluttonous appetite that any angler can take advantage of by casting out a 1/2 to 3 oz spoon.

Jacks are definitely out there got me a 40” the other day and lost about 5 when they went down the rocks. The schools were crazy big and were at the end of the jetty for about 1.5 hrs. 👌🏼

Man I'd love to get out there. However, last year I went to the jetty after your Spanish mack vids, boy there was a massive crowd even during the week. Even got hung up with another angler's spoon, SOB just un-did the snag and threw my spoon to the rocks. I'll stick to the kayak.

It is hard for me to watch because I almost went out there with conditions forecasted as they were. Anyway, I am happy for you and glad you got into them. Love those smacks!

With this "stay home, work safe" being place for harris, Fort bend, and Galveston counties, do you think Can we still fish? I dont see why not since were not in a true lockdown. I've been working the frontline at a public test site and would to fish as a stress relief from this crisis.

Are the Mackerel much better at the Surfside jetties compared to Galveston?
Not sure, I didn’t catch any when I was at the Galveston jetty. Also Galveston County is now on Stay At Home orders. Freeport was dead today. No fish being caught by anyone.

Stay safe and keep your distance from the other anglers. They see you catch a fish and then they’re right on you.

Do locals ever get upset by your videos? Showing exact locations and when the fish arrive there. I’m not from the area but I know the area I’m from it wouldn’t fly at all. That GoPro would go for a swim around here.
That's a sad shame. I feel everyone should be able to enjoy catching fish. The whole Bro Code is such an antiquated way of thinking. This of course is just my way of thinking and opinion.
Forget the Spanish and go for big trout. Some croaker free line and get a 25 + inch mama
