Fishing gods gave you that snook in return for the lost tackle and bait, then you totally lucked out get it all back. Great content! Keep the videos coming
every time you go fishing and come back to your family healthy is a good day.
Great funny video Mark keep them coming... YOU ARE THE BEST ❤️🎣
We just missed you this weekend, fished the jetty hard, and got some yak practice in the surf. Great video, keep em coming brother!!!
Lucky you! Great footage and outstanding location!
Nice I'm way in South Texas and we have plenty of snook down here...nice that u got to capture that moment here in Texas...
Crazy how strong those swells are. Glad to see you were able to get your stuff back!
That is awesome bro, I have caught snook from that jetty long ago when I use to fish it every weekend. Also I have caught a barracuda from there too, some strange catches. Its a great jetty to fish, it just gets way too crowded at times.
Nice come back! Great job, tight lines bro.
Goes to show even the most avid fisherman can have a bad day! Persistence pays when trying to catch fish. I used to fish those jetties a few times a week and know how rough it can get. I had to rig my beach comber bike to to hold all my gear so I could ride all the way down. The walk is killer with all the gear and a small live well. I’m Glad to see you didn’t get swept off the rocks. Thanks love the video.
great video Mark. Happy to see you got your gear back.
Way to stay positive brother great video 🤙🏽
Wow, that sucks man. Congrats on the snook! I’ve never caught one. Amazing! Glad you got your tackle back.
Great video I'm glad you got your gear back 😀🎣🎣
Awesome that you got the gear back and had some good catches.
That is definitely one thing about fishing a jetty that makes it tricky. Stupid rogue waves. Glad you were able to get it back.
Nice stuff! My daughter and I had a great time yesterday (5/14/19) at Freeport jetty, came home with a great stack for dinner!
Great job Dad!
Healthy little snook, cool! You gotta go further south next time you come to FL. I just got my kayak rigged with lights and started hitting bridges at nights with jigs. Beat my PB twice in two weeks. Glad you got your gear back👍.
Always like the content Mark. Tight lines never stop brother!!!
You a lucky man and a good fisherman when I get old I want to be like you. Every time I go fishing I hardly catch something I may be doing something wrong .
Bummer, cool catch
Even the great ones make mistakes! 😂 great video bro!
I'm just glad you got your gear back and your camera was ok. A solid spec is great but a snook is fantastic!!
Sure is brother.
actually got your tackle back. that's crazy awesome!
Congratulations on the Snook. Your Lucky to have gotten anything back. You need to build you a cart out of PVC and use your Kayak Wheels on it.😎👍🏻🎣🐟
Omggg a snook that’s amazing didn’t know we had those in Freeport 👍🏼
I had the same thing happen on east beach's little jetty. my net and live bait bucket but I was able to recover them.
They sell waterproof off brand pelican cases at bass pro. Perfect for my sony A7iii and one lens. It floats as well incase it does hit the water.
Congrats on your first snook. They've been making a huge comeback in Texas for the past several years. Ive been catching them more often since Hurricane Ike. Whatever that means. Had a huge one shake my lure right at the rocks at the Port O Connor little jetties not long ago. Invest in a jetty cart and waterproof bag. I have a soft cooler and put my moisture sensitive items in waterproof containers and put the containers in a soft cooler inside my jetty cart. Never had issues with swells coming over and destroying my gear even when waves were so big they knocked me on my ass on the jetties.
Also, the soft coolers i use are the buccees ones for $20 and i have a daiwa soft cooler that i use. Good enough for a days use bc i dont necessarily need them to hold ice for more than 8-10hrs.
Awesome snook. Need to come down ro south florida for the big ones. Such a great fight. Thanks for the vids
Love the video
Man, it was great to see that snook come out of the water!!!!! Kudos bud!
Congats on the snook. Now you need to catch a big one.👍
Mark you should try king mackerel fishing at Surfside. Fish at June or July and look for east wind 10 to 15 mile. Have a surf rod and a foot of wire tied to it with a size 1 triple hook. Bait choices is a 6 to 8 inches mullet free lining
at 5:45 when I was watching this with my little sister she screamed ''DON'T CUT THE FISH.''
Awesome video Mark and thanks for sharing life's adventures. I have a question please. I seriously just bought 3 of those 3700 Plano Waterproof Trays. My question is this, do you think if you would of had all 3 of the latches locked it would of taken on less water? I think the fact that it floated with all the gear in it was a blessing. Tight Lines and Full Limits to Ya.!
Congrats on your first Snookie! Still angling for mine.
I was completely surprised.
That reminds me of this past weekend I was out there and Cedar Key on the pier and boom one bag of my gulp just went flying
Haha I feel you! I lost my Shimano Stradic combo here in South Padre! Was rewarded with my limit of Sheepshead tho!
Crazy how things work out.
We catch them down in South Padre Island. Heading there at the end of this month!
Do you have a video on the set up you do? Do ypu use a weight with that set up?
Nice catch on the Snook, every year someone catches 1 glad or was you
whoa a snook?!?!?!?!??!?! I have never seen one in Texas! great catch!!!!
You know you're blessed when you have a job like that 😎
Love your videos man .
Good job mark
Have you been fishing mostly on the channel side or the surf side at that depth? Looks like the channel side but hard to tell since Ive only been there once...
Bro I was there that day, the bite was very slow. I was the guy that caught that Jack crevalle. I seen your tackle floating it's way back to the beach, glad you were able to recover it.
That was a nice Jack!
Keep it up devil dog. Awesome videos as always.
Mark what oz trout thumper do you use?
Thanks
LOL! Thanks for the laugh
Not just a common snook, pretty sure that's a fat snook....nobody said it so I will.
Ssshhhhhwwwwwoooooo so glad you got your gear back. Way to go 👏
Neptune accepted your sacrifice and rewarded you with a snook.
😂
Congrats on 17k keep um comming
Thanks brother!
I call that a good day you caught a snook awesome
Great video hi from Houston Texas
I've lost some gear before but on a kayak flip and just like you got it back by walking the shoreline thank God right it feels good to get it back but unlike you I still didn't catch anything especially a Texas snook man lucky catch
Nice!!..I have never caught a snook in 30+ years of fishing these same waters. But who knows, maybe soon?
😂 I was completely taken by surprise.
Hello Mark that's a nice 23 inch trout QUESTION how deep is that water where you're casting I know you're fishing 8 foot but how deep is that water all together right there I'd appreciate a reply thank you
Wonder if you could give some ideas on how to rig out a wagon for fishing
Is it just trial and error to see what depth to run to? Those other guys were at 4 feet and you went to 7-8....just wondering if they had any luck at 4 feet as well?
I am considering getting into jetty fishing after many years of boat fishing.. What length rods are everyone using these days?
I'm not sure what others are doing. I only have one dedicated jetty rod and it's 8'2" Med/Light Power.
What day was this mark? Fishing hasn’t been good right now with all this flooding we’ve been having this past week.
one question. where do you buy the live shrimp
Nice day anyway great catch
Mark, I'm glad you retrieved your gear. Question: How do you choose between Quintana & Surfside jetty? Would it be the wind direction?
What kind of boots do you were for the rocks ??
Simms Flyweight boot with HardBite cleats.
One can always replace stuff. Expect it on the jetties.
I've noticed that treble hooks are used all there in Texas when using live baits
Gotta luv rock walkers. Subscribed.
Thanks!
Bro, that happened to my tackle box at Port A just a few weeks ago :( HAHA
I’ve had that happen when ship passed........a good excuse to buy new stuff
Just moved to San Leon a week ago. Can't wait to get out fishing but the move put the hurt on the finances. Know any good spots out this way?
You can take advantage of my launch spots and the areas that I fish on my Patreon Page if you're interested. www.patreon.com/mdlr_fishing
Gear can be replaced stay safe on them days
Let’s go fishing man
How do you go for say a 15 foot depth with a 7 foot rod ?
You just move the bobber stop so that you have 15 feet of line below it.
@@MDLRFishing but that bobber stop is going to get wound on the reel and perhaps would give reaistance while casting
Not at all.
How do you feel a rock? Also is your rod a solid fibre?
You can feel your line and or lure brushing against it. I use power pro main line and fluorocarbon leader line.
Liked and subscribed
Happened to me in the ferry side a ship passed too close and did a 6 ft wave and lost all my fishing gear and lost all my bait
It sucks.
Liked the video to make you feel better lol...
🤣
Why would you dry off lures that will eventually go back in water?
The salt will ruin them.
A snook in Galveston? Wow.
When life gives you 🍋 you make moonshine lemonade...
😂 heck yeah you do!!!
What brand spoons are they ?
They’re listed in my video description.
Not listed.
Sorry, it’s because I didn’t use them in this video. It’s a cheap no name brand. They’ll be listed in the videos that I use them in.
I always put my tackle in a trash bag then I put it in back pack
Snook population used to be pretty good around here. That is, until people started dropping in between the rocks! 😂
😂
Any day fishing is better than a day at work..Any day..
So true.
I would love to go fishing with you one day.
Oh man.......
No concern with the tanker spill in galveston?
That was before the spill
Texas All Water Fishing i see. man, that sucks... it's going to affect a lot of ppl and businesses. smh
@@joapps8135 yes sir, it's such a shame
Were the boxes that leaked the Plano brand, with a gasket and latches on three sides? Wete they floating when you retrieved them, or stuck on the jetty rocks? Just wondering.
They were floating. All three latches were locked. I found them on the beach.
@@MDLRFishing Thanks for the info. 👍
Not the Yeti!!
Man I’ve been through a lot with that little guy. Would’ve been heartbroken if I went home without him. 😂
Pretty sure that snook did not make it out of those rocks.
17000 Subs you moving on up brother before you know it you know me want to Jefferson's with a million Subs
מקסים king💖👻👻👻
Flambeau WP4005 better box
Oh there’s Snook here-I’m not talking about south Texas either... I’ve caught 5 this year-All 5 over 30” too. I catch baby Tarpon too
Wow false advertisement at its finest how are those tackle boxes not water proof!! i feel like an idiot I transitioned all my tackle boxes to those non water proof boxes lol. Damn. They seem so snug and waterproof lol
Mine are old and worn out. You can test them in the tub to see if they are waterproof.
@@MDLRFishing i'm going to test it when i get home later. thanks for the suggestion on testing them. lmao with my luck ima have to dry off a bunch of lures lol
I would have not went there I would have went somewhere else but if I did stay that why u bring u a wagon
those waves will push wagon off as well
