- The chocolate water is gone for now and the Freeport Surfside Jetty was hot with the speckled trout bite. It's been a while since I've experienced this much action here at the jetties.
I started fishing at 6:30 AM and finished at 8:30AM with over 5 nice sized speckled trout caught. I had to delete some catches to keep the video at 10 minutes.

Great vid nick ? Hv you run into any trout with the zombie eye. I caught trout this last weekend at the slp chill spot that had the eye harvested it but couldn't get to tell in time didn't notice it till I got home when I got it up their the eyes turned white

They're fishing opposite the channel. Lots of fresh water coming down the Brazos so far this year.

let me tell say that these people Not all of the bait shops have haters working for them, they will sale you bait that is 2 minutes from death. I own property in the area and have been living there all my life. They will sale you old bearly living bait in a heartbeat. Many of them are too dumb to install upgraded micro diffusers in their holding pins to aerate
the bait with maximum oxygen. Many times your bait won't make it the 2-minute drive from the bait house to the gulf.
