Reminds me of the days when soil bank was a hot topic. 50’s. Farmers got a check from the government to not plant:: just mow the field twice a year. 20 acres and up. A lot of low lying areas where clear cut of timber and brush. Just to get a check. Now the same fields are all grow back. Into wet lands. I do not know what President stopped the program. Subdivisions took over after that. Just look at the houses built in a flood zones and flood plains. House have water problems and mold. And mildew.
This is only a couple acre field owned by a friend. He asked me to mow it since the plants that he wanted to bloom had gone to seed. He has honey bees, so he manages his grasslands and meadows a bit differently than us farmers, I suspect. Thanks for watching and thanks for the interesting comment!
That 70yr old machine is amazing and singing it's happy song, that's why Millions of us are old Tractor fans. Thanks for letting it sing it's song for us.
Those old Farmalls have a lot more snort than people give them credit for. I stick with a 5’ mower on the H. 6 foot might be a bit much for it if there are many saplings or bushes. Thanks for watching!
Nice!! I have the exact same rig down to the exhaust. Love the farmalls!! And keep em running, which dont take much. I run in fourth in lighter grass and mows like a lawnmower. Great vid!
Those old Farmalls are pretty impressive with their simplicity and power. I can also run in 4th in lighter stuff (as high as the frame) with no trouble at all. This field was tall and very thick, so I dropped it back to second. Thanks for watching!!
My wife owns a landscaping business, she pulls her equipment with a 1st gen Cummins straight piped! and if I was to send her this video she would melt like butter!
I was handed down a 49' Super H from my father, who got it from his father. They are loud when straight pipe. It was always kept in the barn high and dry. The paint was still shiny.
Thanks for the comment, bud!!! She runs pretty well. It’s not exactly stock though…. Hahaha!! Just put a 3 point kit on it like the one you have on your H.
that aint shit for that tractor, i used to cut down large saplings about 2 or 3inches thick using a 6ft mower and a m. that grass is super easy to cut. i even got the same loader setup he has but its on a M not H
@@Kippster81 yeah man I used to cut the ranch roads with three or four passes and everyone would tell me they looked like landing strips since I knocked down so much brush 😂
The high cost of fuel has caused us to decide to park the M and ressurect a H that has a stuck engine. We posted a couple of videos of us working on it today.
Nice! You can't beat them Farmalls!
That engine under load is music to my ears. I have a 53 Super H and it's my baby.
That is a sweet running tractor
Thanks man!!!!
Well said 👍🇨🇦😀

I like to see videos of old tractors working
Straight pipe with ear muffs !
Yep! It seems to have a little more snort with the straight pipe, but I like to be able to hear at the end of the day! Thanks for watching!

Well .. send it to her , my gf likes this stuff too . They appreciate good machinery.
Typical old Farmall, They don't pull down under load, the governor's kick in and give it more throttle, and they just get LOUDER!! AWESOME!

My H loves to hog 💥BOOM💥
Those old Farmalls were built to work, for sure. I love to get them out and make them work like they’re supposed to!
I think them are the best sounding engines ever
sounds wonderfull...love Big Red tracotrs. I have a 47 M and cant get enough
Like a champ
Thanks for the comment, bud!!! She runs pretty well. It’s not exactly stock though…. Hahaha!! Just put a 3 point kit on it like the one you have on your H.
That Farmall is making short work of that tall grass. Sounds fantastic!

john dowe You’re right!! That ol H wasn’t even breaking a sweat!!

I'm a putt putt rider, first gear rpms up and sit back and enjoy . Nice video thanks 😉👍👍🇺🇸
Beautiful! My 300 works just a bit with the 6' Howse - perhaps it's time to sharpen those giant blades.
I have a 1945 farmall H and it does most of work that I need done great tractor
They are quite the workhorse for all the more horse power they have!! I love mine!! Thanks for watching
Love ya man! Keep the videos coming
Boom
Good job , making that old H work !
need to get yourself a allis chalmers 66 combine, and harvest that grass to sell the seeds and use the hay to feed cows
I’d love to do that someday with my Allis WD45!! The hand clutch was nice for that kind of work.
Ole girl purring like a kitten!
Like the straight pipe
The beautiful beast had no problem the tall grass. The 60" deck kept up nicely.
The r is slient on the brush
I guess it’s a term that differs from region to region. I’ve heard it pronounced both ways around here. Thanks for watching!
I do like the straight pipe too!
Yeah Baby!!!!
I have a straight pipe on my Super A sounds awesome
Is it just me or is 2nd gear the working gear for all IHs?
I run 3rd or 4th for most of the work I do, but my H isn’t quite stock. 🤠
...sounds great...

Nice.
Straight pipe on those old tractors were hard on the valves. Cool to fast and could warp the valves.
You’re absolutely right. That’s why I always let her idle for a few minutes before shutting down to let the valves cool down. Thanks for the comment!
🤣🤣🤣 straight pipe with ear protection?oxymoron?
It runs better and has more power with the straight pipe. I like the way it sounds, but I like to be able to hear at the end of the day. 🤣🤣
