- Sid Meiers Pirate's Gold is an action, adventure, simulation PC game from 1993 from Sid Meier in which players can play the part of a pirate during the golden age of piracy. This immersive game sees our Captain Brigands command his own ship, assemble a (mostly) loyal crew, and navigate the treacherous seas in search of untold riches and lost family members.
The game offers a captivating blend of strategic decision-making, thrilling action, and immersive storytelling, providing hours of excitement as Captain Brigands forges his own path to become the most feared and respected pirate of the era.
In part 1, Captain Brigands leads a mutiny against his former captain who just wasn't getting it done. Being put in charge in the aftermath, we recruit some new men, learn who our nation of England's enemies are and quickly get to work attacking them!

Yep, I still love this sweet spot in early to mid 90's computer animation shortly before everything went 3D but you are correct.

Anecdotally I've heard Quest for Glory and Maniac Mansion are among the top for people's first watched Brigands video, so it's Interesting that people discovered Brigands from Pirates NES Let's Play. That's a good one to start.
Yeah statistically (and anecdotally) it's a lot more of those games but yeah that old Pirates video did pretty decently for whatever reason.
