The Very VERY Hungry Pups

- The most dangerous time in the life of a wolf pup begins just after the current WolfQuest game ends -- it's called "The Period of Rapid Growth," when pup food intake nearly doubles and they grow by more than 50% in a six-week period. Unfortunately for pups (and their parents), this rapid growth occurs just when prey animals are at peak health, after grazing on nutritious summer grasses for months now. The WolfQuest Saga* will depict this period in a new quest, which we're calling "Growing Pups" (because you are 'growing them' and they are also 'growing up' and will soon become young hunters).
In many parts of the world, such as northern Minnesota, this combination of hunger and healthy prey is a major cause of pup mortality. The situation is not as dire in Yellowstone, due to the abundance of prey in the Northern Range, but it's still a dangerous time for pups -- pups can starve to death and, even if they don't, they can die from disease that they contract in their weakened condition.
So in this new Growing Pups quest, you'll be hard-pressed to keep your pups well-fed, but we are adding two mitigating factors:
1) Because ungulates are at peak health, the meat chunks that you can pull out of carcasses are also more nutritious, with almost twice the food value as usual.
2) Pups are now big enough to tackle somewhat larger rodents -- Uinta ground squirrels -- along with voles and toads. These make perfect practice prey for your pups while providing a small snack.
That still isn't going to be enough to keep a big litter of pups alive. Some pups are going to die (and it's not your fault!). This is a big reason why wolves have larger litters -- because not everybody is going to make through the first year of life.
We know that some players accept this as a fact of life for wolves. But some players really do not want their pups to die, especially from something like sickness that is, at least partly, out of their control. To accommodate the latter group, the game currently prevents pups from dying of sickness when on Easy difficulty level. However, in the Saga, it's simply not feasible to have a full litter of pups survive. It's neither realistic nor accurate, and it also doesn't work in our game world. It gets too crowded, especially after a few years, to have a pack of 15 or 20 animals in a pack. it would make it impossible to balance the gameplay and could cause performance issues , as well. So it's necessary to limit your pack size by having some pups die along the way, just as they do in the real world.
So: In the Saga, pups WILL be vulnerable and can die from sickness on all difficulty levels, including Easy. But for those players who cannot stand that, we're adding a new option in Game Settings: Pups Die Of Sickness. It is enabled by default, but you can disable it to prevent death from sickness. However, to preserve game balance and prevent performance issues, if you disable it, then you'll have smaller litters. (We're still testing and tuning to determine that maximum size.) You can change this setting anytime, but changes only affect the next litter of pups, not your current litter, of course. We hope that this provides a reasonable option for players who can't stand their pups dying from sickness, while preserving the longer-term arc of the life of a wolf pack.
This quest, like the other new quests in the Saga, is still a work in progress, but it's exciting to see them coming together. Stay tuned for more updates!

The upcoming WolfQuest Saga is "the rest of the game." Your pups will continue to grow into the fall and beyond, learning to hunt under your supervision, and then becoming yearlings when next year's pups are born. Time will continue progressing through the years until you die. The Saga is currently in development but we do not have a release date for it.

The WolfQuest saga will continue! Stay tuned for more news in upcoming devblogs about it and other new features!
We do not announce specific release dates. We will release them when they are ready.
I hate seeing my pups die, but I absolutely love the realism that y'all add to this game. It's like nothing I've ever played before
And the fact they chose to add an option for pups to survive sickness! Just the fact they were so adamant on giving players the option knowing the helplessness (although realistic, and therefore their goal) would be too painful is so thoughtful. Just another reason the wolfquest devs are amazing :(
Same
Seeing the pups looking like a small adult wolf looks so crazy to me 😅
I knOOWWW. They're so cute tho ❤❤❤
of my puppy still i feedthem
I HATE ITTTTT HAHAHAHA
FR
It's so cute tho!!!!!
It’s awful sad to see the pups sick and starving, but I suppose that’s the way it is in real life. It’s nice to have the option to have them survive it, though, especially for younger players. Keep up the good work WQ team! :-)
I’ve raised over 2000 pups in both games (as in, 4000+ total.) and have only had like, 300 deaths total and I’m so unprepared for this to raise but I’m gonna try my best to have as many as possible survive
@@cloudedfreedom6286 that is bad😯
@@cloudedfreedom6286 Do you only play on Easy? Usually I have one or two pups die from sickness if I’m playing on accurate, unless my litter is especially small. If I have a litter of 7 one or two will definitely die
@@DustyHoney nope! I play challenging and sometimes accurate
Oh, and when I played 2.7 I always played on bring it on lol. Still barely lost any!
The older pups are so cute and lanky and awkward, I love it 🐺❤
It’s why the 15+ pound is my favourite pup that’s in the game rn (might change when the other pups are in the game). It’s so lanky, I love it!
Hey!
I really like that the game's quest prompts reassure the player that pups are likely to die and that it's not their fault. Hopefully that alleviates some of the stress people might feel about keeping everyone alive without necessarily turning off death from sickness!
Drop everything, wolf quest just posted!
Exactly! 🤣
*drops little sister* IM COMING
Literally woke out my sleep for this😭
@Lavender_editzzs FASTER DUDE! WATCH IT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE
I truly can't express how excited I am for the saga

Definitely add an achievement for people who manage to keep all of the pups alive cause thatll be impressive lol
Yeah that'll be great if they put that in
You're not *supposed* to keep them all alive, and it will likely be impossible because like they said, for balancing reasons there's no way you can keep a large litter alive with none of them dying at that point!
@@willothewisp2980 Hyenas only have two nipples, yet we have multiple accounts of them successfully raising triplets. When nature is involved, no hope gets lost… Plus, there are always good years! (ahem-ahem, The Druids.)
@@willothewisp2980 dude the fact you arent supposed to BUT CAN is why itd be a good achievement. A lot of the wolfquest achievements are too easy to obtain. But they still have challenging ones for different game modes.
Dont be an egg.
@@JingoTastic You guys, in the actual video he says that you can't keep all of the litter alive for actual game balance reasons, implying it would be impossible by the game standards so that it stays balanced and doesn't lag lol- physically they will probably make it impossible and put a cap on how many can survive in a litter
I done even care if they beg all the time, I'll do anything for them
REALL
That's a pretty awesome feature. Its gonna drive me crazy though when it happens to a particularly favorite pup that has survived as long as it did. Im ready for pain
imagining all the pretty npc coat pups i will see waste away...
Having unexpectedly lost my real life dog to sudden severe illness almost three years ago, (something that traumatized me and my family because of how quickly it happened), thanks for still giving us some control over the in game illness. I am one of the players who likes to have a safety net for favorite pups. So, thank-you, for letting us keep some control over that, it is much appreciated.
I think I am one of the few people who can confidently say that a video game put me on my career path (fisheries and wildlife)
That's awesome! Living the dream. I love how media can put people on paths they might not have considered otherwise.
Me too!!!! :D hoping to go to college for either biology or zoology
I actually really like how if you make your pups immune to dying of sickness it gives you a smaller litter! I also prefer to play with a smaller litter so this is great for me!
Same! I can't keep track of everyone's personalities or remember everyone's names on larger litters, plus it's just generally harder to travel with imo. No sickness death and smaller litters, win-win
I actually really appreciate that there's still the option to not have pups die of illness. I've been getting used to it more because I've been trying to get ironwolf achievements lately, but losing a pup to illness after spending days by their side and just praying my mate returns with food for them is one of the most frustrating deaths they can have, and it's the most frustrating because there's nothing you can do. Some people just get really attached to in-game families and fictional characters, and I am one of them.
I can't wait for the saga to come out! It's going to breath so much life into the game and make replaying all the more fun.
I can handle deaths that are my fault, it’s when there’s nothing I can do that things fall apart 😭
@@JingoTastic EXACTLY! When I started playing on higher difficulties, my first death to illness I took a short break after I lost a pup to illness 😭
@@imsoquarky I have an Ironwolf Accurate generational run and so far my one and only rapid reload crime was when my pup died of illness right before the end of the game. i was like NUH UH DONT YOU DARE FINISH THAT CUTSCENE GET ME OUT OF HERE
Little tip, don’t wait for your mate to bring food. Hunt large batches of food asap when your pup first gets sick. Only sleeping when you have to. That way you can prioritize only going to kills to get meat for the sick pup. The other pups being hungry is fine for a bit. I’ve had much much better luck this way and most times your mate will keep up with territory marking
@@JingoTastic Agreed. I feel similarly, even though I'm trying to desensitize myself to the idea that pups WILL die and it will be outside of anything I could have done. I always think back to a quote from Shadowstone Park, "Yes, you're right. I just wish there was something I could *do* about it. Something I could struggle against, even uselessly."
Those little baby wolves look so cute… and that hunger bar that was nearly empty! Very telling. Im already grateful and the end of the summer rendezvous quest for not needing to get endless amounts of food for the puppies, I can already tell how hard this is going to be! We do need a new challenge though, WQ starting to get too easy even on accurate lol. I really like the detail of the pups shrinking when hungry
I absolutely about accurate getting too easy once you get the hang of it.
Hopefully the higher food needs and tougher prey will add a nice challenge! Should be fun!
I have never lost a pup to hunger and I’ve been playing since this game released… I think I can finally get that achievement lol. I can’t wait for the saga and the pain and suffering of tryna keep my pups alive
I’ve lost sickness before, but I’m actually getting used to it because I know that’s going to happen
I really like this answer to the sickness situation. I know sickness been a pretty contested feature, but I see why it was necessary, and I think forcing smaller litter sizes is a perfectly reasonable tradeoff-- honestly even as a player the idea of having 20 adult wolves running about at one given time is so wildly overwhelming! Iirc Puma ended up having over 30 surviving pups by the end of her life, and I cannot even imagine having all or even most of them ingame at one time 😅
Summer looks to be a challenge, though! Excited to see what new perils and stories it brings 👀
I’m excited to more of your WolfQuest videos jayplays super excited jayplays
Omg Jaysplays! I also feel the same way
The fact there is a even a slider for pups to look skinny from hunger is really impressive how much effort and details are put into the game!
It’s such a sad and cool detail, I love it
A separate achievement should be added at this stage in the game for pups that die of starvation, instead of getting the "bad parent" achievement. Between running around trying to get food and marking the territory, I regularly run at 25% health or lower. Like, if they die at this point in the game, at least give me one of those golden "you tried" star stickers.
I enjoy this idea
They did change the achievement name from bad parent to sad parent, since in the saga you are expected to loose some to starving eventually!
I don't know if this would be applicable to Yellowstone wolves, especially since large prey is more common there, but the Voyageurs Wolf Project also discovered wolves fed heavily on blueberry mast during this time (up to 83% a week) and that, while it did not sufficient nutrition to keep them healthy, it was probably useful starvation food for short term survival

GUYS WAKE UP WOLFQUEST POSTED
I appreciate you saying that losing pups isn't always the player's fault, even if it goes without saying. I was recently *finally* able to play WQ with a friend, and every time we lose a pup, he's just distraught. (Versus me, who's played like 17 "years" in game and have adjusted to youngling fatality just being the reality for most wild animals. I'm not great at comforting him, but I'm good at keeping the pack up and running while he grieves, so it's not unlike having a lazy or loner mate in single player lol.) I also appreciate the accommodations you've made for players who don't want their pups to die. It's hard keeping everyone happy and the game balanced, especially since WolfQuest is less of a "play wolves with your friends" game and more like a genuinely sentimental family simulator game. People get attached to their pups! I hope you find a good solution soon.
Seeing the lanky, skinny models for the pups when they get older is adorable! It will be sad to have more pups die due to starvation but that is the life of a wild wolf. Finally have some sort of release date is awesome, so now we all know that it will come out near the end of the year, possibly a mini Christmas gift from the devs.
I'm screaming right now. In excitement, and in fear! I get WAY to attached to my babies. Although it adds realism that "Too sick to eat" notification would have me in tears. Good job wolfquest!
I love that Wolf Quest team gives people the options, a example of what a good Developer team looks like! ❤
I think its very sweet that you guys are really thinking about the people who just can not handle having death from sickness.
Personally, I would have just left it as always possible because of the realism aspect being very important... But I do very much appreciate that you guys are going out of your way for these people.
We dont know what other people are going through. There are many reasons why seeing their pup die from sickness could greatly upset someone.
It tells a lot about this company that you care so much about giving options for people to make their own comfortable gameplay experience and to limit their own stress, while still being realistic about it.
You guys are very kind :)
Raising pups in wolfquest and growing attached to them only to have them (often your favorite) die is just a canon event 🤷♀️ we’ve all been through it
I just keep re watching all these videos and it just makes me more excited for the sage release! I can't wait to live out a full cycle and build a pack! Thank you so much for working tirelessly on this. It's gone so much further than child me would've dreamed of.
even though sick pup death is not something that bothers me personally, i GREATLY appreciate the compromise of having a toggle and instead getting smaller litters! it's a really great way to keep things realistic while also not completely shutting out those who don't want their pups to die to something out of their control :D wonderful work as always!
Ooh the Saga is going to be so interesting!! I'm in love with periods of time where survival is on the line between life and death; real challenges are super entertaining. I love how this challenge is still balanced, with prey being more nutritious; and the consideration of more sensitive players. I'll likely keep the option off simply because I prefer realism, but I know SO many people will appreciate this option. I'm super excited to see more (and the Saga later this year...? >:))!
I love when the babies get into that weird stage. they look so weird so funky.
Its always sad to see pups die, but I actually really like this feature. It really fits into the survival aspect of the game, some win, some lose. Definitely going to keep me on my toes!
I love how hyped everyone in the community is whenever wolfquest posts a new video!
i LOVE the addition of the "sick pups can die" feature! i tend to get super attached to animals in video games so i was a little worried about the pups dying, but this is super inclusive. and the limiting the litter size to balance it is super smart! hats off, wolfquest devs!! cant wait for the saga!
i'm really appreciative you guys keep the playerbase in mind so actively as the team develops this game, i personally enjoy the struggles and challenges with the consequential loss that wolfquest provides but my friend absolutely cannot stand losing pups especially when it's something out of her control (she once reloaded a save over and over for hours every day for a week trying to RNG her pup back to health because it upset her so much when it kept dying of sickness at the last %). i may enjoy the realistic fight to keep my pups alive but it makes me happy theres options for people who don't like it :]
Starving time 😭 Omg, how sad haha. This is gonna be awesome! The pups are adorable and it'll be sad to see them starve, but I'm excited for the saga. Wonderful job!
Perfect trade off - sickness for smaller litters. I'm very happy with that and excited to see the saga!
I’m super excited for the saga for WolfQuest guys i am super excited and ready for the challenges for WolfQuest saga
🤩👍🏻really amazing work to the WolfQuest team that made and did this for WolfQuest the game
I love this so so much. They’re so in depth :) I love how you consider the realism AND your players feelings XD Easily my favorite game so far, and DEFINITELY going to stay my favorite after the saga releases.
I love the inclusion of having an option were pups don't die of sickness. I can't see myself using the feature (I love drama) but I was getting a little worried about people or even myself getting frustrated with deaths that are mostly out of their control, espically since at this point in the game many players are attached to their pups. I love the realism in it though, and watching the tough survivors grow and make it through the year alive + testing my skills to see how many I can make survive will be very rewarding and I can't wait to see!
The bigger pups with their adult coats are so cute!
EVERYONE WAKE UP!!! WOLFQUEST POSTED A VIDEO!!! 😊😊
Jeez the saga really is gonna be so much harder ain't it 😭😭😭
I think that's a really fair tradeoff as far as the sick pups go. Letting players choose if they want to keep their pups safe from things out of their control, but at the cost of litter size.
Love the updates!
I hope I'll never be in a situation where I have to justify the amount of headspace that the upcoming saga takes from me.
I’m so exited for the upstate love you WolfQuest!
Aww, I think this is the cutest stage for the pups. Little mini wolves running around.
What's truly amazing is just how fast the work on the saga is going. Great job, guys!
I do have one question about the saga; after your wolf dies for one reason or another, what happens to the pack you've built up? Does it all end in that save file, or do you get to choose one of your pups as the new breeder? I don't really know how it works in the wild, but I think being able to continue on that save file and not erasing all that work would be awesome.
That would be amazing your family pack goes on for generations just like the three big packs on each map😊
Things are looking great! I think it's a nice compromise you have for the illness concern.
Looking forward to this going beta!
I love the name change for the quest, good choice

I love the compromise! I won't be using the sickness setting but I'm glad it's there for others
Can't wait for the saga!
i am so INCREDIBLY excited for the saga!! thank you so much for giving the option for pups not to die from illness!! i really love all the realism you guys are putting into the game but also i was going 'no no no please i don't want my babies to die!!' for a lot of the video alskdfjalsdkfj
Yes! I'm so excited for this saga😮❤
wake up everyone! 😱 wolfquest posted!!
Omg i love the the detail of when the pups look skinny after not eating
Thank you so much for choosing to accommodate those of us who have a hard time losing our little pixel puppies 💖
Maybe with the immune to sickness, as well as smaller litters the adult pups disperse a lot more often to keep the balance! Love the progress!!
i love the creative solutions you guys use to solve problems
That’s awesome!! I’m so excited for this update. It is a little sad about the pups dying, but we have a new challenge and the pup models look so cute!! I also love the addition of the squirrels!
Can't wait for Saga! 🎉
You can be really proud of yourself guys! We are for sure ❤
"thank you for posting, wolfquest devs" we all said in unison
Hopefully we can still choose to grow up pups into playable wolves at the end of summer, it’s a good way to be able to play as the pups you want and hunt hidden coats and still be able to chill with the reality of this mortality period. Much less stressful that way. It’s not like there isn’t precedent for it either for pups you grow up but then their younger selves die later in the save. I know I would be under a LOT of stress if I had to deal with the growing period where I could see a lucky pup who managed to roll a hidden coat and know RNG could take it away from me and deny me that coat unlock at any time
i'm so excited!! i have been putting off playing wolfquest AE again like i usually do every few months because i want to fully enjoy the entire experience like its new when this update finally drops. i see it sitting on my desktop and get excited thinking about the future of this game every time. it sparks a child like joy in me, from when i first played the game at roughly 10 years old (im 25 now) i desperately wanted more from the game, that i'm happy you guys never abandoned this game and continue to improve it all these years later :) thank you for all the work you put in!
I am so excited- I have been playing WolfQuest the old game. Can’t believe how far it’s coming ❤
I feel like the fact Wolf Quest has previously stated they wouldn’t add ground squirrels, but now they have, means we might get some other features that they’ve previously said “no” to
The saga is gonna be hell for ironwolves on accurate xD you really gotta keep a big territory in that time but it would take os much time .. Adds difficukty though. Good job!
So so so exciting! I love how dedicated you guys are to making a realistic wolf sim.
Anyone else feel like we’re getting really close?
It's coming out later this year, so I suppose that you could say we are 👀
I'm sooo proud of the wolfquest team! Thank Yall for your hard work on the saga!❤
yeah i dont want my babies to die of sickeness so i love how you balance it xD
I've been following this game for years and it was so exciting to see the (Coming later this year). I'm so pumped for the saga, keep up the good work!
I can't wait for the saga! Every video you release just makes me more excited to see what's next. Keep up the great work!
I'm so excited! I usually pick favorite pups and I know I will be devastated if/when that pup dies. It will make me work harder to try and keep them.
I really can’t describe the sigh of relief I let out when you said there was an option to not let pups die of sickness 😅
i love to see how far this game has come since i was like 8 and now im 17
I absolutely love wolfquest and I am avidly following every video you post!! This has got to be one of the coolest games and I wish it got more appreciation! I’ve been playing wolfquest since well before the anniversary edition and I am so excited for the saga! I’ve never seen another game that includes so much realism and research into its simulation to teach players about the animals in the game! I absolutely love the mix of educational and entertaining and you guys have perfected it! By far one of the coolest and most under appreciated games of all time!
I love difficulty and ✨wolf family drama✨ so i can't wait to face the harsh world of Yellowstone once again, with pups growing up dangerously fast!
Looks like the saga is coming along well. I like the realism of how likely it is for pups to die, but I'm also glad you're still giving people an option to turn off dying from sickeness.
It's looking really good!!! I love seeing these updates so much!
i think its cool how balanced the game is going to turn out, because you are still intended to have more generations, therefore if some pups die during the first year, next year you will have more anyway. its just the circle of life. also mitigates having a huge pack to take care of during the first year. very realistic
Wolf quest is my favorite game ever
Thank you for gently insisting this game stays at least semi-realistic
It is absolutely perfect.
It is hard to capture exciting, realistic game play while also not making the game feel like a chore, too sad or traumatic, or too infuriating
I really appreciate the pups not dying of sickness option. As much as I want to accept that this is a wolf's life, I always get far too attached to the pups. Thank you so much for taking this into consideration!
Saga looks so close to being finished!
I stg its killing me to wait 💔
Question 1. Are wolf pups at this stage no longer at risk for getting hunted and killed by eagles/bears/cougars/cyotes/rival wolf packs? Aka you no longer need to protect them and can contribute more energy into keeping the pack fed and territory upheld? Or are the attacks limited? Like for example cougars or cyotes bears and eagles will no longer try for your pups cause there bigger and stronger but rival wolves can still come in and attack yearlings to weaken the pack?
Question 2. Have the game developers considered making pup stage playable for players after the saga is complete? It’s not for growth benefits but just more immersion so instead of starting as a 2 yr old dispersal maybe you can start as a pup born in a pack and try to compete with your siblings to survive into adulthood then choose if you wanna be dispersed or a subordinate in the pack each choice having drawbacks and benefits for example as a Sub you won’t have your own pups or may compete with starving but you can contribute to caring and guarding pups from the alphas and having a home territory. But if you choose to disperse you can’t stay in your home territory and need to leave/migrate and got all the responsibility on yourself now
Question 3. When the game is fully complete is the possibility of playing as a different animal in the table for the next step?? Like for example the same game/maps/seasons/animals but instead your surviving as an elk or wolverine or moose or cougar?
I think the developers kinda always said no to the 3rd question a while ago and said that this is strictly a wolf game and won’t include other playable animals at all (like for both the past versions of the game and for Anniversary Edition too they said no to that is what I mean), but I’d love to hear what they think about considering Question’s 1 and 2 tho! Those are some very points actually imo.☺️🫶🏼
I been playing WolfQuest since I was like maybe 11yrs-12yrs old I believe, and I’m 21yrs now, and it’s so amazing to see the evolution of the game from back when I was younger to how it is now with the AE version, like it’s come such a long way fr! WolfQuest will definitely always be my favourite game for life Lol, I’m genuinely super excited for the saga and I can’t wait for it to come out like I’m just mega eagerly waiting for it like a little kid at this point haha.
Ahh!!! I'm so excited for this!!!! I knew about this growth period for a wolves but I didn't think about the fact you guys might add it!! Can't wait to take on the challenges the saga will present on accurate iron wolf 💪 also, those juveniles are built like noodles and I have to say they look spot on to my 8 month old puppy. (She’s a dog ofc, but she's wolf height haha)
Im so excited for saga !!!❤
Not the awkward pup teenage phase 😭
I love how lanky they look, they're like tiny adults
I can't wait to see what comes next! Keep it up!
Seems like I’m only gonna have one pup out of a big litter tomorrow when I log on
1:23 I don't know why I got stuck on that photo but it makes me wonder why those deers have white rears that makes them much more noticeable from far away. Maybe they are more adapted for running on wide open plains and thus don't need to hide as much and having lighter colors makes them easier to find each other far away.
The death toggling is a great idea! The smaller litter trade off is a fantastic in-game consequence. I think would prevent distress for child gamers like my little cousins (who also imo would get overwhelmed trying to take care of more than 3 or so pups). Also for a soft-hearted adult like me, smaller litters will motivate me to adjust my playstyle for a fun challenge.
Im both excited and a bit nervous, im excited because this will be cool and add a new challenge but nervous because I feel like I will do horrible lol
Anyway the saga seems to be coming along well! Keep up the great work!
idk if this is a good idea, but maybe a happy compromise to limit sizes of packs is to come up with creative ways for pups to go "missing" instead of outright dying?
A little bit of censorship and fun can go a long way. A family friendly mode! It can be easy to code too; random roll to determine which pups go "missing", and random roll to determine which "flavor text" to give. Maybe community members can even suggest random events like this to add to the charm and silliness.
We can still keep the same litter sizes and generation, but in this "family friendly mode", a random number of the pups will "go missing" for various creative reasons. "Pup1, Pup2, Pup3 & Pup4 all went on a road trip together!" "Pup 5 and Pup 6 were adopted by local researchers and taken to a wildlife sanctuary." "Pup 7 went on an adventure with another pup from -rival pack-!" "Pup 8 and 9 joined a pack of wild dogs in town and was adopted by humans!"
It's not realistic sure, but neither is having all of the pups survive, so people who want this mode already aren't expecting realism. It might clash with the tone of the game though lol
Either way- good luck on this one! Makes perfect sense and I'm excited to see how you end up balancing it.
I personally disagree with this. With all due respect, I am honestly very tired of all the censorship lately just because some parents are too lazy to be responsible for their own children on the internet, and then we all suffer for it. Yes, child safety is important, but parental controls exist, and should be properly utilized instead of just letting them loose in the wide expanse of the internet and making us pay the price just because they wandered somewhere they shouldn't.
That aside, like you also mentioned, it takes away the realism aspect, and WolfQuest, even in the past has talked about this. Nature is often brutal, that is just a fact. To remove that removes the realism entirely. And the pups disappearing in that way gives me the same vibes as the people who kept asking the wolfquest team to have options for "purple fur and disclaimers". Iykyk. Or watch the Part One of "WolfQuest: Wildest Dreams" on the channel. The fact they're making death from illness an option is very generous, and i appreciate it. But seriously, we do not need more censorship.
@@Bonniethebunny yeah it's not a fantastic idea- maybe someone can think of something better.
I would like to point out that no one is taking anything away from you, I was only proposing this as an alternate option. Not the main feature. Hence why it's a low-effort idea that boils down to "despawn & flavor text." All ya gotta do to not participate is just... not participate! Just like how mate permadeath mode is an option despite how unrealistic that can be as well.
But you're still right; my silly idea kinda goes against realism, and might be a bit of a cop out. I'm sure the devs will come up with something better :)
i am so excited for this! i have put so many hours into the game! i just wanna grow up my pups and have my pack grow! i cant wait! i really hope it comes out soon but all good things come with time! cant wait!
This saga is going to be so cool
