I can't see them having a September rookie call up catching games in the post season. I will say though that having Kiermaier as the only left handed bat on the bench scares me. Unless Kiermaier starts games, what are the odds that his defense would even be a factor playing maybe one inning a game. Perhaps having Rushing as a lefty PH option on the bench makes more sense.

Barnes is a better defender, he syncs with the pitchers better and calls a better game. I've always wondered if Smith added to our pitching staff issues with the pitches he calls. Right now, Barnes is what we need. They should play him more as we go into the post season. Will has a lot of work to do and he shouldn't be working through it on the playing field. It's too late in the season for that.

What are you talking about? Smith is rated at the best defensive catcher right now and Barnes is rated right at the very bottom!

The Dodgers probably aren't even entertaining any thoughts of not having Smitty on their postseason roster. It's funny that they continued to stick with CT3 though he continues to be ass and people are saying dump Smitty.

Because both of them have solid postseason records. Learn for once.

Barnes is better than Smith this year. Did anyone ever think that would even be a discussion......ever?

On a limited sample size offensively, with batting avg. Smith is at the top on defense while Barnes is at the bottom.

I'm a Dodgers fan. I love Will and I can't stand program but it started going down hill when he called Profar irrelevant.

the answer is no. no they cant. it's to late in the season. we've seen this second half story year after year with chilli willy. he starts hot but wears off as the season progresses. hopefully the playoffs can spark something extra in him

The fact that you guys are more worried about Smith than Rojas is very telling. Rojas is an automatic out in October. Will Smith is a proven clutch. Dodger fans never learn.

When you don't throw to 1st base after a third strike in the dirt, you REALLY need to look in the mirror and find yourself before it can get worse
