I appreciate that, Drew! That's what I'm trying to do with these update vids -- share the big updates of the day and let people know why I think they're either important or nothing crazy to concern ourselves with. With this update, my only concern remains the depth of the starting rotation on opening day. Feeling more and more like this team really needs to bring back Walker Buehler just to be safe.
@@alldodgers Thanks again for helping separate the signal from the noise, Clint! And I couldn't agree more with the importance of bringing back Walker Buehler. Love his attitude and what he brought to the team when it mattered most in 2024. I think he will continue his resurgence in 2025, and let it be with the Dodgers!
Hey Clint & Dodgers territory I love the content. Especially bringing on Alanna and the guests have been great. So cool you got Mark Prior on. In terms of Bowden and Roki, the field is level and he can sign wherever he wants. The fact that Yoshi and Roki get overshadowed in terms of marketing dollars because of Shohei is the most interesting piece of information from the Bowden interview. Idk why they can’t do a commercial together? Or all sign with New Balance?.. that’s for their agents, but I’m spitballing. I think the Padres, Red Sox, Arizona and San Francisco are the main competitors. His injury history is concerning, and I think that will scare teams away, but the investment and the controllable years will probably mean all 30 teams can get him. I’m a Dodgers fan so I’m biased, but the baseball fan would love to see him in Pittsburgh w/ Juan Soto or Detroit and add to “pitching Chaos”. I do hope he’s a Dodger our team doesn’t need much other than fresh arms and bring the gang back to run it back. My wishlist is; Buehler, Teo on 3 year deals let’s see what Hoese can do. And sign Roki and pivetta
I’ve seen Friedman go to Japan to “scout him” I think the Dodgers make the most sense. Who knows what’s going on in that young man’s head but that connection is too strong. The dodgers have laid the groundwork with these Japanese players. They even signed 2 South Korean players that were supposed to be top 5 players in their country’s draft. I think they’ll win more World Series because of their scouting and player development. They’re pushing out players almost every year since seager
one thing working against the dodgers is that japanese players saw how the dodger treated kenta maeda, and it wasn’t good. i.e. he really wanted to play for the dodgers, and he ended up signing a very team friendly contract and the dodgers took advantage of him. roki knows he’s going to have limited leverage once he signs. i.e. the dodgers can manipulate service time, send him to minors if he struggles, or use him in the bullpen. for that reason, he might want to consider playing for a team that would be more patient with him like the angels. on the other hand, i think he’s very confident on his abilities as a pitcher so he might not be that worried about it. but lets say he’s in between, in that case he might prefer teams like the cubs. i.e. somewhat competitive, somewhat patient, needs starting pitching, has japanese players, less media, etc. or maybe he’ll look for an owner that he can trust…e.g. arte moreno did treat ohtani well. 1) started him in majors even though he struggled spring training, 2) did not try to manipulate service time, 3) allowed him to pursue being a two-way player in the midst of a skeptical media and public, 4) did not trade him, etc
@@dodgerdan_015 It's actual news and kind of something of a nothing burger at the same time. The Sasaki signing timeline update is useful in my opinion. I did my best to try and bring something additive to this news while also pointing out that it's nothing huge but that's just where we're at right now in the offseason. Hopefully it wasn't too terrible because I'm not trying to just be part of the echo chamber of this news stuff! lol
Looks like he’s going to be a Padre. It’s going to be interesting to see how the Padres fill out their rotation. They only have four or five starters. They are going to need probably eight or nine at a minimum to guarantee a six man rotation which Roki needs. So they’re going to need to sign 3 to 4 more starters this off-season to complement Roki . also how do the other pitchers feel about being on a six man rotation. Cease and king probably don’t want to mess with what they’re doing in a free agent year. The NL West is going to be very interesting the next couple of years that’s for sure

And Ohtani is boarding a flight for Toronto
Thanks Clint for giving us updates, even though we aren't getting much real new news right now. You are reducing my degree of anxious anticipation.

I feel you drew, withdrawals are bad rn but listening to Gentleman's Sweep by Max Willy sure gets me pumped up for next season

I like that you always rep your city. Representing the SGV.
Waiting for a TeOcar Hernandez resigning!
Thanks Clint for the update
I agree! As we found out last year and past years, can't have enough arms
As much as I love you and Alana Rizzo! Scott Geirman is a Great Baseball Mind ⚾️ 👌
Clint you are the man!
Thanks Clint
Thanks Clint for the info I'm late
TeOcar Hernandez to the Yankees is Beyond Absurd!!!! Hell will FREEZE OVER FOR A BILLION YEARS BEFORE THAT HAPPENS 😳 😅
Emil Morales better be VERY good. Had they not signed him they wouldve had their full bonus to give Roki in this window.

Go get Snell and Eovaldi(cheaper proven winnner).
Not boring….. we all want to know
Hard to believe the 85% chance he doesn't sign with us is real. I'd like to see us sign Max Fried either way.
Jim Bowden dosent know jack.
Jim Bowden's 85% equate to just under 3% chance for the other 29 teams, EACH! Dodgers WIN! Boden's math sucks.
We’ll see how reliable that “insider” is once Rori signs. 85% that he DOESN’T sign with the Dodgers? That’s a very large %. Again, we’ll see…
I wouldn't trust anyone who has a chair full of stuffed animals sitting behind him. Looking at you jim bowden
😂😂😂😂😂😂
What's that hairy thing he got on his head?
If Sasaki is smart? He'd sign with the Orioles, be the Star of the team, and have a shot at the World Series for the next 5yrs
Soto for 3yrs. For 150 8:26 million. Pickup his world series trophy up with us and then go out and try to find a team that can beat us.
85% seems too specific of a number I think field is all equal be happy if he chooses dodgers great if not oh well
Why not 86 percent chance ?
The Dodgers need at least two workhorse pitchers. Resign Treinin and sign Kikuchi.
Yo it boy
Burnes and Snells...Sasaki would be icing on the cake...Glass is destined for TJ surgery in 2025 and Shohei has been piling on with injuries....
Too too much rumor new about Roki Sasaki I don't know your are true dodgers fan

Jim Bowden has never been that credible
he is gonna sign with the angels 😅
If this update is a nothing burger, I swear I'm gonna unsubscribe

So now the question is what international prospects can they use their money on? Is there any left in this cycle that are worth taking the chance on.
What about SOTO’s meeting???
Will talk about that tomorrow on @DodgersTerritory!

Roki wants to win so going to the Padres makes zero sense. Nice try on your passive aggressive trolling…….
@ You don’t know what he wants
Sasaki wants max $ waiting gives him more intl bonus $ from teams
that’s not how this works. his team has control on when to post him.
