Kazooie is a female, Joe.
No! Xe's genderfluid!
I think the eggs should have made that clear.
First thing I did (at the BK segment) was head for the comments to see where this comment was...
...and it was pinned!
Maddie Shan are you ASSUMING that because xe lays eggs that xe MUST be female?
Game sack check your white privilege, who are you to ASSUME that kazooie is genderfluid?!!?!?!
63 year old gamer here. Colecovision was my first system. You guys ain't pretty or fancy. It's substance. Feelin' it. Entertaining stuff. Thanks!
scanny Thank you and you're welcome. Gaming, the ultimate escape. 👍
Gerald Esparza, yess: Zaxon, Time Pilot, Carnival, Smurf. Good stuff.
Yikes that's what we call a backhanded compliment lol.
None of these series are dead, they're just resting in the farm upstate.
g1nobleteam and they left the keys inside the house .....
Sonic Ace 24 and Unseen Samurai - You don't get the joke. Please stop.
It's just an old lie parents used to tell kids when their pets died. The simpsons even did it
+g1nobleteam LOL!
Actually, you could say Castlevania kind of escaped wearing Metroid’s husk, since MercurySteam would go on to make Metroid: Samus Returns. Isn’t it great when a company is allowed to make Metroidvania, instead of whatever the hell LoS was?
Now that Konami is ran by a crazy Yakuza boss who hates video games the only Silent Hill games we'll get will be Pachinko machines :(
Silent Hill Kart Racers gonna be amazing.
Silent Fighters II is better imo 🤣
Weirdly enough, Konami did make Krazy Kart Racing for mobile phones that had Pyramid Head as a playable character...
I will never get over Silent Hills being cancelled. It could have brought back one of my all time favorite game series with a vengeance.
"Donald plays exactly the same as Mickey, so I play as him since I like him better"
- Immediately shows an example of how outfits between the two characters have completely different mechanics, from attack jabs/arcs, to swimming
You guys didn't suck back in the day. Those are the ones that I started out watching... And I watch them all... All the time. Everyone finds their voice, and you guys definitely have. Easily the best on RUclips.
Game Sack: "You know your franchise is out of ideas when you decide to make it take place in space."
James Gunn: Hold my Meek
Mighty No. 9 killed the Mighty No. 9 franchise
TheLoneGameMan yeah i guess a good game can kill a franchise just as much as a bad game can
TheLoneGameMan what about mighty gunvolt?
Mighty Gunvolt was good, much better than MN9.
Sonic 06.
I never played Mighty No. 8
The original creators of Earthworm Jim have gone on record saying that they were reduced to tears when they saw Earthworm Jim 3D in action. They hated seeing their boy Jim getting so horribly debauched.
I actually saw a video in which the creator said that. I wish I could remember which video.
I prefer Sackdays over Sundays.
Hey Thanks for the shirt! It fits and it's a good design. Nintendo forever!
My pleasure Dave! I am glad it got to you safely, you know considering Joe and all.
Usually when I try to watch some youtube channel I have never heard of, they don't keep my attention and I get bored of them quickly. Not you guys though, I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel. I have binge watched a tons of your videos in just a short few days.
Awesome and Thanks!!!
Damn theres something so calming about hearing that intro theme at 1 am
The last segment about Magical Quest, it wouldn't be Capcom's decision to continue it, but Disney's. They probably had a contract to make a certain number of games. So if you want more, Disney would have to allow it.
What's funny is that Capcom is technically back to making games for Disney, since they do the Marvel vs Capcom series, and Marvel got bought by Disney. It's a few steps away, of course, but I wonder if somehow Disney could be a bridge between Capcom, and Square Enix who handle the Kingdom Hearts series that has the actual "Disney" branded stuff. Square and Capcom are both Japanese companies who have worked together before, and both have represented the Disney brand excellently. I would LOVE to see a three-way partnership result in some crazy cross-over magic.
I thought somebody would say something about Magical Quest 3 being released in 1995 on the GBA...
With the current state of Capcom, it has better stay this way.
Considering how they kind of screwed up Ducktales and Castle of Illusion remakes, (not to mention the blunder of handing Star Wars to EA) Disney clearly doesn't know what they are doing with video games.
@@AlucardsQuest Ducktales remake was awesome, the Castle Of Illusion remake sucks though.
Was nice meeting you guys at Retropalooza!
jim is screaming "Paid!" when he collects marbles, he lost his marbles and has to collect them lol
Hey Game Sack during the Earth Worm Jim 3 video you mentioned lots of games/franchises made a good jump from 2D to 3D, perhaps a good idea to showcase these in a Game Sack episode?
Great Idea!
Haha, the skits at the are so dumb but equally awesome.
Nailed it ^_^
I love and still have lament of innocence.
Loved this episode, great to see the whole span of gaming eras represented! I had no idea the Capcom Mickey platformers went that far, or that Earthworm Jim went out that terribly... Lately I've been reminded that Gradius and Life Force died pretty terribly too. (a terrible Otomedius that wasn't even decent like the first one, and an unreleased Chinese mobile phone port with microtransactions). :( Agree totally on the Castlevania. RIP franchises. Thanks Joe for wearing the shirt BTW, that was so random!
Most Konami Franchises died when they started outsourcing them to Western developers.
tymcbee Konami killed itself by being an awful business not giving a crap about it's games, developers and prefer making pachinko machines.
Joshua Chap
Actually Konami is an excellent business, it is highly profitable and booming.
BoloYung I wish it wasn't
I dunno about you guys but I've been falling asleep to these videos recently. Video game goodness before sleep is happiness!
I’m doing the same haha
6:16 That thing totally reminds me of the weird baby in Eraserhead
it might be a direct reference since kojima is a movie nut
It kinda reminds me of Granny from Squidbillies.
I was thinking the same.
p sure that was what it was going for
LOL, indeed
I never understand why people are disliking your guys videos.. you always seem to have entertaining material!
i'am still watching this from france 🇫🇷!
Bonjour de Paris!
Epic Mickey Power of illusion on 3ds has many similarities with the Magical Quest series.
Also, GameSack in the house!
I would love to see an Episode about Games that deserved a sequel. In my case I really wanted a sequel to Goof Troop on the Snes.
What about Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5?
Allan Biala Exactly. They should go back to their routes. I still play the Dreamcast version occasionally and Underground.
That series died twice due to them doing yearly releases eventually leading up to the hot release of Tony Hawk Ride and Shred after being upstaged by the Skate series, and Pro Skater 5 doing the same again with no expectations. Shame Neversoft is merged with Infinity Ward and is just another part of the Call of Duty cycle.
Allan Biala That one didn't die because of 5, but because Activision lost the Tony Hawk license.
THPS died well before that. THUG 2 was the last good one IMO, I guess American Skateland was good too (though masked by the tiredness of the franchise), I never tried it.
+AllanBiala The only thing that died was Activision's contract with Tony Hawk. Another publisher (Probably EA) is bound to get the rights at some point and bring the series back.
Castlevania Rebirth was AWESOME! It's probably got my favourite soundtrack in the series too!
TUK(Deleted Channel) No, you are right. I feel the same. It may sound strange, but to me Castlevania is half game, half music franchise. I mean it has always been like that since the NES times. If you got new Castlevania game, it meant you got solid Castlevania gameplay and also fresh beautiful Castlevania tunes. I don't know many franchises with such a reputation for great music written by talented composers (perhaps only Final Fantasy). If a Castlevania game just uses remixes of classic tracks, I don't feel like it's a complete experience.
@@kosmosyche I think Mega Man and Sonic have a similar reputation.
I love Game Sack more than any TV show. You guys have such polish, it's fantastic.
The Onimusha series is totally worth a mention. We haven't seen an entry since Dawn of Dreams on the PS2, and that mobile game that came out a few years back. I can't say either really killed the series, but where the hell is Onimusha!? Perhaps one of them is to blame?
Kung Fu Fishy Or the fact that Capcom isn't willing to invest in anything that isn't Street Fighter, MvC, Resident Evil, or Monster Hunter these days.
An Onimusha HD Collection (including the Blade Warriors and Tactics games) would've been a money maker during the 360/PS3 era. Maybe even now, too.
But I would've loved a brand new Onimusha game...
Onimusha was the first ps2 game I played they should remastered on ps4
@@mkratos17 it is being remastered.
"How long you ain't sposed to look for?" - Joe, 2017. Your post credit bits always get me.
Death Stranding turned out nothing like PT or Silent Hill. Can you imagine how sad that makes me? :(
I will never get over Silent Hills being cancelled. Ever.
Still playing those metroidvania trilogy on GBA and DS
U guys always show up when needed. Yall are clutch.
The Bowser one true
Or as I call it a schedule.
No, Clutch are their own people.
I always get excited when I see that a new Game Sack video was posted. I start the video and look at the run time and I'm like "Awe man, its kinda long." Then, at the end of the video I am like "Wait that's it? It went by so fast!"
"It doesn't have zombies, it has silly dinosaurs" yeah zombies are not silly at all...
What I like about your reviews is that they remind me of classic game magazine reviews, like game Porto etc.
Glad to see the real Joe back again, normal speech and no malfunctions the way we like. Seriously Joe, please don't let your clone host anymore. He's even worse than regular Dave.
Hey!
Joe and Dave from Game Sack, I'm happy you talked about the Magical Quest series a little more in this episode because I'm a huge Mickey Mouse fan, since Disney is no longer developing and publishing their own games anymore, Capcom and Disney may revive the series in the future.
Thanks! I'm a big fan as well. I'm always on the look out for a good Mickey Mouse game.
Silent Hill Book Of Memories honestly looks like a Diablo Clone if you ask me
but no one did
@@lizardman7364 Aw! Lmiao. That's mean! Stop it. Lol. 💜
@@lizardman7364 is nothing more then a meanie poo poo head
You know you’re having a good Saturday night when gamesack uploads a new video!
BEST RUclips SHOW EVER
Hell yeah. Just what this evening needed.
"You know your franchise is dieing when it takes place in space." *cough* COD *cough*
I have been patiently waiting for this new Game Sack episode. My body is ready. My mind is ready...
...I am ready.
Gamesack RULES!
DaRotWilder 33 what about experated gamer?
Sonic Ace 24 he thinks that Game Sack is ASS
Definitely the best gaming channel, in my opinion
Love that Earth Worm Jim 2 music intro!
Castlevania curse of darkness is underrated as hell, absolutely love it, castlevania and resident evil are my two favourite long running franchises
Curse of Darkness was awesome. I also liked Lament of Innocence even with its flaws, & the crazy difficulty modes were great.
Earthworm 3D was made by VIS, as you said, but they were a subsidiary of Rockstar Games (Well they were part if BAM but in essence they were part of the Dundee development scene and thus really close to Rockstar, a company with Dundee origins) and the studio later developed State of Emergency. That game was really popular during the mid Ps2 era. Not exactly a developer who was known for little like you said.
Crash: Mind Over Mutant was a franchise killer for a good long while.
Note that the puzzle pieces have been called "Jiggies" ever since the first Banjo-Kazooie.
Watching this, I thought about spiritual successors, one I remember is Road Redemption, it's quite fun once you learn the controls, Joe, did you ever made an episode focusing o spiritual successors?
Haha, just saw here on the suggested videos, spiritual sequels, you guys think of everything, thanks!
Magical Quest on my Game Sack!? You guys are awesome!!!
Dave... do a Castlevania retrospective. Let's be sad together.
It will be called Castlevania: The Lament of Dave and Enigma2K99...
We'll get through this... together. IGA gives me hope.
... though if he disappoints me with Bloodstained, I'll never back another Kickstarter as long as I live.
"Donald get a mallet that's used like a hammer..."
Well, yeah. It is a hammer.
LoL. Good catch.
He also got a ww2 german helmet... its offical hes a nazi
It's 2am, I should go to sleep. But it's Sunday so f*** it!
I just noticed something whether it is a Video Game, or Doctor Who that sentence is a Red Flag you see the words "Dinosaurs On A Spaceship", and think "Oh my god, this is gonna suck!".
Ninja Gaiden. After the terrible NG3 there was Yaibo which was also bad and just a spin-off. I wanna see a true sequel to the excellent first 2 games.
Is that in line with those games? I bought Yaibo and I think it's still sealed. It was only like $5 or so.
Lots of good memories. Awesome episode as always, thanks guys.
Y'know I thought I was the only one who hated "Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2" I don't even think I liked "Mirrors of Fate".
Yeah I didn't like Mirror of Fate either.
Thanks for mentioning the Magical Quest games. I have MQ2 for GBA and I’m still hunting for 1 and 3 in the wild in local stores (I prefer to shop local than Online)
Thanks! I have 1 & 2 but would love to find 3 in the wild. Someday we will find them. We just have to have patience.
11:34 Isn't Kazooie a female?
The idea of that Silent Hill game is actually pretty good. As far as the character creation and plot setup. But the rest was just... what were they thinking???
Hey guys what about an episode on cheap games on the Xbox and ps stores? Like a gaming on a budget/ digital only epi?
Not sure what platforms were on it but they did two budget eps;
1. ruclips.net/video/s5_2icTOZfY/видео.html
2. ruclips.net/video/KXooAqzSh_g/видео.html
Hellwyck
Yep I've seen them but I was thinking along the lines of download only games. Not necessarily cheap retro games exclusively.
Hellwyck but that's pretty cool that you have their back catalog on recall like that!
L.A. Rush took a realistic turn from the arcadey styles of San Francisco Rush, Rush 2, and San Francisco Rush 2049. There hasn't been another Rush game since 2005.
Gargoyles Quest and Ghouls and ghosts snm
I really liked the Castlevania overview you did here. Please do a full Castlevania episode featuring every game in the series.
Thanks. When I have time I would like to do that.
Always seen these weirdos from the game chaser meme and ever thought to check them out...man I was missing a shit ton! 20-30+ minute videos on video games? Especially retro games? Where the fuck have I been these past couple years?
Seriously where have you been!??!? But we're glad you found us.
Game Sack Dave watching Stupid game chasers of course >_> but anyways I've binge watched you the past 2 days! Favorite episode so far is the accessories video!
I didn't know there was three Mickey's magical quest games
Wow, I just thought "hey this is about the time Game Sack uploads, huh?" And boom! 1 minute ago!
Another Game Sack episode! I can't wait to watch this one the next time I'm taking a shit. Just had dinner so I hope this episode is worth the wait!
I'm guessing if Rare had stayed at Nintendo, there would've been a Banjo-Threeie on the GameCube and that the franchise would have had a few more console releases.
Hard to say. As far as I know Rare decided to make Nuts & Bolts the way it is on their own. Could have gotten something similar on the 'Cube or Wii.
Apparently, Rare was actually working on Banjo-Threeie on Xbox then it was moved to the 360 and then they changed the gameplay from a traditional collectathon to what we ended up with in Nuts & Bolts. According to some sources, the levels were built before this change was implemented. That's why the levels were kinda weird considering the gameplay of Nuts & Bolts.
wow those were the quickest 30 minutes ever good job guys!
Still no Sega Genesis episode
Yeah cause neither of those episodes have a prayer of happening. Right?😒 smh
pixelsofdeath Yeah. Loved to see a Genesis one
pixelsofdeath I doubt Joe could face the blowback from some commenters.
It's ok for them to spread the hardware episodes out. Besides, those have got the require a lot more work than even regular episodes.
And shouldn't we be interested in all Game Sack eps, and NOT just the hardware ones? I think we should.
FinalBaton Strongly agree. 👍
Damn I didn't know Magical Quest had 2 sequels. Let alone that hey were good! I rented the first game back when I was a kid (and I couldn't remember the exact name of the game until now, it's when I saw Mickey jump over the the big rolling tomatoes and his costume changes in this episode's capture that I made the connection, Thanks for the huge flashback btw, lol). I remember liking the game quite a bit, I should replay it, and give the sequels a try! Thanks Game Sack.
Yes you should!
nuts and bolts was such a fun game. yes, some of the missions were easy and some were really hard, but building cars and planes was so much fun
Bloodlines is totally next on my list of Castlevania games to check out (but the game boy game looks awesome too! Decisions, decisions!) I'm so glad you talked about this because my Castlevania knowledge is basically limited to NES/SNES.
And for some reason, I always forget Earthworm Jim exists. No idea why. Anyway, great video as always!
Dave might recommend Castlevania 2 on GameBoy over Bloodlines. As for me, I dunno. They are both must-plays.
It's on my list too
I just bought Bloodlines a couple days ago. It’s a pretty good game.
Erin Plays Bloodlines is awwwwesome. Level design is tight as hell and it's got music from my favourite video game composer of all-time, Miss Michiru Yamane. Truly an out-of-this-world musical score.
Gonna do some shameless self-promotion here : I suggest you go check my no-death run of the game on my channel, to get a feel of what the game's about!
Erin Plays bloodlines is cool, but I would take any of the snes, GBA or DS ones over it
Easily one of my favorite skits so far
Hey Dave, if you want to get Capcom to make a sequel to Magical Quest, just get Rick & Morty to tell them to do a sequel. Hey, it work for McDonald's....sort of
I love seeing the editing work put into this show, pretty startling some times.
Get a modified Vita so you can capture video directly from it, instead of being limited by the PS TV.
A jailbroke ps tv will also all vita games even if they are only for vita.
Plus you can play downloaded games you own already for quick play and preservation of your physical copies.
The first few episodes of Game Sack were rough but I think you guys figured it out fairly quickly.
Damn. Silent Hill and Castlevania in one episode. This sure was painful to watch. RIP two of the best video game franchises ever made.
The N64 itself is a franchise killer...
The spirit of Castlevania lives on in Dark Souls and Bloodborne.
I want to smoke with Dave. I've been super high, but his eyes tell me there's a place above me.
Awesome to hear music from the Border Down OST. It's so good!!
Would death stranding be the game PT would have been........HAHAHAHAAA!
That Zaxxon shirt rules. I need to pick up that Solar Eclipse game as well, looks like a hidden gem!
Gamesack doesn't suck as much.
Some of those franchises live on, inside the dankness of my sack.
Kazooie is a she!!!
"The music is well done and also quite well. Wait did I just use well twice in the same sentence...? Oh well..."
😂🤣
OMG, Joe misgendered a fictitious bird! Better sharpen the pitchforks, internet warriors.
I'm BEYOND livid!!!!!!shift+1!!!!!
Another interesting video, Game Sack!
Some more Franchise Killers for you:
1) Command & Conquer - Red Alert 3 (PC/PlayStation 3/Xbox 360);
2) Command & Conquer 4 - Tiberian Twilight (PC);
3) Fighting Force 2 (PS/Dreamcast);
4) Heretic 2 (PC/Mac);
5) Gothic 4 (PC/Xbox 360/PS 3/PS 4);
6) Syndicate Wars (PC/PS);
7) Bubsy 3D (PS);
8) Soldier of Fortune - Payback (PC/Xbox 360/PS 3);
9) Silent Hill 4 - The Room (PS 2/Xbox/PC) (of course, that game didn’t actually kill the franchise, but after it - series went to hell. Or should I say to Silent Hill ;) );
10) Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi’s Island (SNES) (again, not exactly the Franchise Killer, but I never heard about Super Mario World 3, after SMW 2. And I will be very happy, if SMW 3 would ever happen, and if it would have graphical style from SMW 1).
P. S. :
I want to give you three interesting ideas, Game Sack.
1) - First Idea -
How about the episode or maybe even the series of episodes, where you will tell us about games, that didn’t kill any franchises, but on the contrarily, made franchises worldwide famous, for example - Final Fantasy VII (PS/PC) or Doom 2 (Various Platforms). You can call it - «And they waked up famous» or something like that. :))
2) - Second Idea -
You can tell us about games, that didn’t kill any franchises, but were the last in the franchises and they weren’t bad, as most Franchise Killers, for example - Croc 2 (PS/PC) or The Suffering: Ties that Bind (PS 2/Xbox/PC). You can call it - «Last man standing», or «Not good, not bad, but dead», or something like that. :))
3) - Third Idea -
You can tell us about games, that didn’t kill any franchises, but instead broke them. After these games everything in the series went wrong, for example - Silent Hill 4 (PS 2/Xbox/PC) or Heroes of Might and Magic IV (PC/Mac). You can call it - «I know, something went wrong», or something like that. :))
P. S. S. :
I’m totally agree with you on Castlevania - Lords of Shadow. It wasn’t a bad game, but it also wasn’t the Castlevania game in many aspects. Especially in the music aspect.
I hate breakable weapons in any game.
Zelda BOTW, ug...
Even Dead Rising?
"Did I just say well two times in the same sentence? Oh well"
Hilarious
Oh, don't talk Castlevania like that. It breaks my heart to see what the series have become.
It's all the fun of castles combined with the comfort of Pennsylvania.
Uhh... a goodish TV series according to some reviews?
