Just got a Red 2020 WRX. I’ve been watching a lot of RUclips videos. All I want to do is just cold air intake and exhaust. It’s my daily driver so I don’t want to tinker with it too much.
Should get Cobb's 3 port boost control solenoid and protune. Also, stage 1 drive train. My 17 drives like an sti. 270whp/270tq. Protune done at Misfire motorsports.

@@jaggerkenyon5996 so I wanted oem fitment and look so I went with an idoing head unit and got it from aliexpress.com after tax and everything it was 400 which isn’t bad at all.
@@jaggerkenyon5996 I will say the one thing I couldn’t find anywhere on RUclips or forums is if you have star link/the sos button in your car there is a module on the bottom Of your oe head unit that you will Have to unbolt and bolt up to the new head unit. That sos system is tied into your front speakers so the only way to do it without resorting around the sos system is by taking that module off the old and putting it on the new one. That info is from experience cuz I spent 45min to an hour researching and found nothing then I looked at the oem and it had that module on the bottom and was like let’s try that haha

@@devinlarkin4500 with the intake and tune rev hang seems to disappear. A new Downpipe and catback is where you see a huge difference. Stage 1 is definitely a great daily driving upgrade. Merry Christmas!
Great video man! Just got my wife a ‘21 not too long ago and we’re wanting to do that stage 1 kit from Cobb. We put a Boomba BPV on it and it seems it’s holding boost a lot better.
you should collaborate with a shifter manufacture to make it a little easier to shift not just for yourself but anyone else who wants to drive a stick shift while they are still being produced and electric cars take over... It breaks my heart that electric cars will be taking over in the next decade or so and going to get me myself a wrx, Veloster n, or Honda Si or R in he near future hopefully. Only pro of eclectic is instant torque nothing like the sounds of a tuner engine/exhaust.
at stock 50% of the pedal travel is 100% acceleration but with the stage 1 100% of the pedal is 100% of acceleration so it is more linear sorry im late but if that helps you.
@@dylanwirkus2119 it’s definitely worth it, even if you don’t do anything else the intake and the stage one tune makes driving that much better and refines it. Fixes a bit of rev hang that the stock car has! 10/10 would recommend

@@alapus7774 Yeah so all you'll need for the Stage 1 tune is the Big SF intake from Cobb and the accessport. The cat-back could be any brand or in my case during this video I didn't even have an cat-back exhaust. If you have more questions feel free to ask :)
George Parker I would say the CAI & Intake definitely improved performance and ironed out the most of the rev hang to make it have a smoother driving experience. The car feels incredibly faster with stage 2+ (Downpipe, Catback, CAI (also have a BPV))
Hey dude, cool vid. When you install the accessport, does the car check engine light come on, or does it seem to operate as normal? I want to do this stuff, but I’m scared the ecu will start bugging out or something.
Jeff Schlitter I have had no issues at all when it comes to the bolt ons so far. Up to this point I haven’t done anything that the AP doesn’t have a tune for. Car runs very well and healthy even after the 8k miles I’ve put on it since I’ve started modifying it. No CEL light btw, if that pops up most likely something isn’t put in correctly or tightened down all the way, which isn’t a hard fix just a pain to figure out where it is haha. @@remissiveslave Since this video I've gone Stage 2+ and driven out of state multiple times and the cars runs as if it's brand new. From what I've seen on forums and other videos anything past Stage 2 (FMIC/E85 and so on) is where you're going to start seeing issues if you don't build your engine. My car is a daily and it's been an insanely reliable car. If you have any more thoughts let me know! :)
Don't get a BOV unless you go speed density tune. You want to stick with a BPV...COBB being the best one and Boomba being pretty good as well, but there have been reports of the Boomba one leaking.

Can you actually tell a difference in power or is it just a change in noise? Turbo spool etc...

While you have everything off and access to the Bypass Valve you should remove it and install a BOV, if not already.

If you like the sound, i would suggest installing a boomba bpv. It give the turbo a flutter.

I think it was about 3 hours if I remember correctly and that’s on the slow side.
Did the AP come with a tune already installed or did you have to go get one done?

If I have a muffler delete catback can I still run this map safely?
Yup! Don't have to worry about maps until it comes to replacing the downpipe. Catback exhausts don't require a flash/tune :)
