Why is it only the Christian Lebanese proud of there Phoenician roots
Im Muslim and there’s many muslims proud also of there Canaanites origins
Because it is a the greatest civilization, invented ships, invented astronomy, invented purple dye, invented alphabet, peaceful people, very creative ,great traders, like lebanese nowadays...we hold their genes, we are the same wherever we go...amd this PHOENICIAN civilization was attacked by many because of their wealth, especially geeks, after Phoenicians taught them how to speak and read and trade and build ships, they invaded them and wiped their history...same as it is happening in lebanon nowadays
Not only christians
@@lebanesemetalhead4637 I second this, was raised muslim and always proud of and fascinated by our Phoenician history
Can I be proud with you? I know I'm not really Lebanese and more jew and I know that my far ancestor didn't like canaanite much. But I feel like I have phonecian roots and I want to be proud about that
What is this language?
This is Canaanite/Phoenician spoken in the late Tyrian dialect
Now the Question is : Are the Canaanites the same Syriac Aramaic? - cause through history we can see this big Mixture between them ! The official language of the people of Judas and Phoenicia was Syriac Aramaic during the time of Christ, and Jesus who spoke Syriac Aramaic went many times to Tyr, Sidon, and Qana so they must spoke same language but different dialects. Nowadays Syriac Aramaic people can understand easily Hebrew, and the Syriac Aramaic original letters are the closest to Phoenicians letters. so What do you think ? did Phoenicia and Mesopotamia had the same language but different dialects ?
