I’m like you Gayle I really like to play in the craft room, I get kind of sad when I miss a day. I’m addicted to crafting. It makes me happy. I love all of your ideas.
wow is anyone else utilizing all the "free" campaign mailers coming in every day??? Holy smokes , it's great that they spend top dollar on these lovely mailers just for "we the scrappers" !! I know what I'll be doing sometime today! Woo Hoo, lots of lovely bases for your beautiful neutral tags!! The upside is that these are not going to the trash, it makes me feel so good!! TFS all your ideas and stories, i especially love the JJ stories, I miss my big lunkhead and hope to get a new pup soon. Our home is not a home without the pup!!
Yes, another video of Jimmy Jo. From one dog lover to another!!! It's great to go away fro awhile. But it's nice to come home to your own bed and pillow. I do take my pillow with me in a bright pattern pillowcase, so I don't leave it behind when I travel.

I have a scan and cut and as long as you get your head around the workings it’s great. Tracie and Andrea have one and both as far as I can tell use there’s all the time xxgreat to craft with you 🥰
hi and hugs Gayle, i am swooning over your ephemera....... you make the most gorgeous pieces. i thought for sure you were going to say you woke up and the roof was leaking! glad you all got some rain, we sure could use some, it is so hot right now, the heat really zaps me, watching you create and chat with a fan blowing on me is delightful :-) tyfs xo
I have the Scan & cut 2 and I really like it, I also have the Cricut, and the newest silhouette machine, they all do different things but I like the Scan & Cut. I can't see very well and this helps, and I don't like to fussy cut. The machine is definitely faster but you need to play around with things. I would recommend it. For the price it's worth it. There are a lot of videos out there and excellent tutorials. I am a Stampin up demonstrator and use it to cut paper and stamped images. You can also cut out sentiments, which I love. The best thing I love is that you DO NOT have to have it hooked up to a computer or laptop if you don't want to. I use mine so often because of that. You can also cut thicker material and fabric with it. The biggest con is the mats don't last that long. I hope this helps.
I have a SnC. I found it easy to set up and I still find it easy to use. There are a couple of considerations. Make sure where you put it, it has room to not only open, but accommodate the length of paper you will be scanning. You will need at least 12 inches on the intake side and about the same on the output side. I have it on the same table with my printer. The main “thing” to remember is that the image you will be scanning needs to have a continuous visible line around it. Open images don’t work for no border cutting. It is quite handy in cutting a page full of images! No regrets in getting it!
Your tags are gorgeous and you are so right about the digital creators. I am careful who I buy from because I know there are people out there stealing other people’s artwork. On another note, I have learned to keep cuticle nippers and a nail file near all my spaces; computer area, TV area, craft area, bed side and purse along with a pen, pad and tissues. It just makes my life easier.
Your tags are really beautiful. I enjoy watching you make them and listening to the sound of the sewing machine so much. I am glad that you got to see your family and that they could spend the night with you. It's always good to enjoy family. Thank you for the video. I always get inspired to try new things when I watch your videos. Thank you for that. Take care, Gayle
When you said “you woke up with rain falling on your head” I took you literally waiting for a story about broken pipes or holes in the roof! 🤣 then you explained...😊. I wouldn’t call your tags “cute” Gayle......I’d call them beautiful! I don’t have any napkins anywhere as lovely as yours so I will look for some because I just love how yours turned out. Enjoy your weekend.❤️
Gayle, I have been watching your channel for about a month now. Just felt the need to comment. I purchased a Crop-A-Dile about 2 weeks ago and could not figure it out. Watching you today, I realize my mistake. I was trying to use the eyelet setter to punch holes. I felt sheepish for buying it. Thank you! I learned today how to set eyelets and punch holes. Thank you for the help. I really enjoy your channel. It is like sitting down with a good friend. You have inspired me to "try to" tap into my creative side. Thank you so much!

Late at night on Saturday after a day at storage… love all the tags you decorated… just beautiful, that double tag is fabulous! Great job! I found all kinds of vintage papers and goodies to use, it was a jackpot day for a junk journal junkie… lol! Thanks for all the tag making inspiration, so awesome! Love and hugs! 🤗💖🤗
So pretty as usual. I love your ideas and they always turn out so lovely. Please ask your son to put your new crop-o-dile on your favorite's list. I don't like the one that I currently have either and your new one looks so easy to use
I love your journal with the pockets for organizing all of your butterflies and little flowers and such- wonderful storage idea. Looked so convenient for use when you are working 😀
Dear Gayle, I can’t tell you how much I love the new frosting bottles for my fabric tac. It really is a game changer. This is the first really good look at the pin with the dangles on it. I have Beads and charms out to make a few of them. I love the teapot charm. I’m loving the neural theme you have going on. What gorgeous tags. Good evening Gayle, I love the tags & pockets you made . It’s nice to see you use the Timmy paper dolls . I have them & I never know what to do with them . The tags are very pretty. Thank you .😍❤️😍
I love your ephemera. A while back I made ATC cards with napkins as a background. Napkins work great for these kind of things. I enjoyed the stories of your family activities a lot. It's great that you all had zo much fun and afterfun. Thanks
I do have a scan and cut! It was a little hard to use however I did it! It does take a while to cut! You can program it if you cut a lot of same designs! It’s a big expense but I love mine after I got it! I also attended a class when I got mine!!
Good Morning Gayle, looking forward to seeing what you do with these, I am in the middle of making some too....this was so much FUN!!! Have a great day! Scan and cuts are really easy to learn, i love mine for fussy cutting. I say go for it!
So pretty. I don’t sew, but I think these creations are just as lovely with gluing. You have a good eye, Gayle. Everything is balanced. BTW, I have found that I am now making junk journals as much as I am painting! Thanks for all the inspiration. Hugs and please stay safe.
Love the double tags, I have some large ones and ty for the this idea. The napkins blend in so nicely with the decoupaged paper. Enjoy your weekend! 👍🌸🌸🌸
I have the brother scan n cut. It’s does more but mainly use to scan and the machine do the cutting. I love it and a little learning curve but plenty of RUclips videos on how to use. My daughter just got the cricut and it is awesome. They both basically do the same things but from what I’ve seen the cricut is a bit more complex and unless you are gonna cut more than paper and want to get into other crafting areas that may be the one but it’s all feeds from the computer or phone. The brother scan n cut you can operate from the machine. It can draw and cut other items beside paper from what the videos I watched but I mainly use to scan n cut but I still fussy cut too. You can use the computer on the brother too and seems much easier. Both have a learning curve but i found the brother easier. Then there is the price both can be expensive. I hope this helps since we have both in our house.
Thank you, Carol! I just love that you are going back and checking out older videos! There’s a bunch of them, aren’t there?! 😂. Thank you again, Carol! ❤
For your sewing machine... if you set it on some fabric (I have mine on a cloth placemat), you can slide it around rather than lifting it. I scoot mine around, easy peasy😊
Love your tags. I cant wait to do some tomorrow's. It makes all the piecing you've done brings to mind all the paper I'd fogotton I had that would be great on the tags Thanks! Love them and a great way to use all my scraps.
Love these also. You've got so much talent and creativity. I like Tim Holtz's flower and butterfly ECT pkg's because they are already cut out. There's no fussy cutting lol !!l I also love Antonio's stencol. It's very pretty with the two colors !!
All awesome! I know you’re glad you’re going to have the surgery but I also know how stressful it will be till it’s done. You sound so happy since you’ve been able to spend time with family. You’re very lucky to live in a state where there were fewer cases than the bigger cities especially here on the east coast. I still haven’t been able to craft along. Doggie is feeling better but now I’m way behind preparing stuff for this weekend. I like to have some folios in the shop for the weekend. Luckily Tony is learning to sew pockets! It’s a huge help. Now that others are making and selling them, my sales will probably slack off. I want to craft though! Can’t wait to try the napkins on neutral backgrounds. On the tag you used the Cop a Dial on (yay for having the new one that works! ), I kept saying “use a snippet on that bottom stenciled part!” but you didn’t hear me. I thought a fabric snippet would have looked nice and tied in the lace. It turned out just as well of course because you are the master. Big hugs. Stay cool. Love, M.
I recently got rid of my Silhouette for the Scan n Cut. The SnC is such a dream. You can do almost everything on the built in touch screen, and never have to touch your computer. The best part is the auto blade. You do not have to ever mess around with pressure, speed, number of passes, it detects all of that and just cuts. I have never used a Cricut, but the SnC is what I would suggest you go with, especially since we use so many digi kits. just print them as normal and trow them thru the machine, and blam - die cuts in less than a minute. It is also the quietest machine I have ever heard. My Silhouette you needed ear plugs to be in the same room with! haha.
@@margaretcomella3318 I think it is just getting used to how it works. I had problems at first, until I realized I was scanning in black and white, which you do not want to do for most digi kits. I do have to admit that cutting out butterflies, they often lose their antennae. Doesn't bother me, I can just add them with a posca. If things are really close on a page sometimes there is a little clean up but it still is better than the hand cramps I get from cutting out a lot of things. If you look at your images and see that there might be a broken line, just connect it with a pencil or black pen.
Ohhh Gayle - Your ephemera pieces turned out beautifully!!! I was waiting for a grand story about a hole in your roof when you said you woke up and it was raining on your head hahaha. I was relieved to realise that wasn’t the case. I honestly think you’re in my head sometimes lol. I was just thinking about how fun it is to have so many choices for focal points/embellishments on things we make for journals (I even thought ‘I should watch a couple of Gayle’s earlier videos as I’m sure it was a little different in the earlier videos) when all of a sudden you were talking about the very same thing. How do you do that? 🤔🤣😂 Thank you for the giggles along the way!!! You are a bright light that’s, for sure!!! Big hugs, Sharon 🌷💜
I missed out on the journal with pouch. People must just sit on etsy and watch.....lol I'm going to look for the video on this project, I have made something similar using brownpaper lunchbags as the base . I love the tag kits from Tracie and artymaze , I made an ephemera folder just for those kits, I love getting ideas on doing them up.
lovely projects as always Gayle :) Just ordered myself some napkins, id quite forgotten how beautiful they look, so im looking forward to playing with them, tags & journal cards as well as envelopes now :) Also a quick note, I have just put up some of my favourite vintage handwritten letters and documents on my etsy, Krafting Kitty Kat, hope you enjoy gals.
Love these too! I had a Scan ‘n Cut & I’m not a “techy” kind of person at all so I found it very difficult to use, there is a big learning curve for sure. Now, you may have no trouble at all & that would be great, I just found it more trouble than it was worth, especially since it’s so expensive. I’m sure everyone has different experiences with it & you will probably have no problem at all but that is my experience. Have a blessed day! 🌸
I have scan n cut. I love them. I have cricuts and silhouette as well. I upgraded to the scan n cut dx. I think they are the easiest machine to use. There is a couple of really good RUclipsrs who make easy to follow tutorials. I am selling one of my cricuts and my other scan and cut. I need the room and I mostly use the scan n cut for fussy cutting and I will use it for die cutting too now that I have it set up and easy to get to. I think you will love it.
I watch this craft show on Create TV and they use Brother ScanNcut SDX 125 E electronic DIY cutting Machine with scanner. I never had one though. I think it is on Amazon as well.
Girrrl I am so far behind on your videos it's ridiculous. So I started with yesterday and watching current and working my way back. I love these embellishments and am definitely gonna monkey them. I loved hearing about your vacation and family fun yesterday. Just starting this video but wanted to get a comment in. 🤗🤗💜💜
Wonderful video as always, Gayle. Concerning a scan and cut. I don't have a Scan and Cut by Brother but I do own a Cricut die cutting machine. I love it. I've had it since 2015. There is software that comes with the unit that is very easy to use. I upload an image (file) into the software and I can crop it, resize it or even erase the background if it's an image that has a certain part I want to isolate. Before I got the Cricut, I explored other units for how well they performed and the best results seemed to come from the Cricut machine. When I purchase digitals from Etsy, I upload the files saved on my computer into the Cricut software for manipulation. If I want to scan an image that is not a digital file, I scan it with my printer and upload it to my computer, creating a file I can load into the Cricut software. None of this is hard. When it comes to working with a computer, I simply tell myself I'm smarter than a machine and move forward. If I have a problem I can't figure out, I'll look online or call people I know that work with computers to get answers. When it comes to creating something, whether it be a scrapbook page or a journal, I want to do the absolute best job I can. What I create reflects on my talent. I don't want to be judged for doing a halfway job. So, learning how to use my Cricut has been a very rewarding experience on so many levels. I may not be the Michaelangelo of crafting but when I give a project my best and expand my knowledge of how to create things used in a project, I gain a huge boost in confidence. Best of luck with your decision! And, thank you for sharing your talent with us RUclips subscribers!!
I’ve been trying to make some tags similar to yours and I’m loving how relaxing it has been! It has been very addictive and I wish I had more time to play☺️tfs🌺
I have a scan n cut, to be honest it sits in the cupboard collecting dust 😔 i keep procrastinating to take it out and do all the updates that is required for it. I need to find inspiration again. I loved it when I first started using it but then I moved and have not used it since that was 3 years ago
Your napkin project is lovely. Thank you, I enjoy ur tutorials. I have a question bout ur stencil. I would like to how I can find & purchase one. Like the design. Be blessed & safe!! Happy crafting!!👍🔖🦋
Hi Gale, Another great video as usual. Just a thought, would it work to use the top tag on the layered tags as a flip up. To increase the journaling space and not lose the pretty papers on the back. Much love. Xxxxx
Beautiful work Gayle. Wonder if you hinged that top decorated tag to the large tag, what that would look like. Your smaller tag then could be used for hidden journaling. Just a thought. Have a great day!
I’ve had my Scan’n’Cut for a few years and love it for cutting out my stamped images. It didn’t cut correctly in the beginning cause I had to calibrate it a few times and customer service was no help at all, and it needs good lighting in the room to scan correctly and make precise cuts. The mat also loses its stickiness pretty quick..at least mine has and I’ve read a lot of reviews that said the same. I usually tape my paper down with tape now 😋 It took me a bit to figure out all the blade settings for the different paper thicknesses so the blade wouldn’t cut into my mat. I also own a Silhouette Cameo now and use it more often and only use the Scan’n’Cut because it can actually scan and cut. I think it would definitely be helpful for you if you have a lot of images to fussycut. You can also have it leave a border around your images which is a nice feature. It’s a bit of a learning curve but once you figure it all out, it’s fun! Hope this helps 😊
I agree completely, as I have an older Scan n Cut. The mats are frustrating sometimes and expensive. The newer model you don't have to make blade adjustment etc., But I assume you still have mats to deal with.
THANK YOU Alex, for so much info! I've not heard anyone say the fussy cutting works great...better with just bold black boarders. Can you please clarify if you can take a sheet of fussy cutting from a digital kit and have them all cut out perfectly? I've been trying to know for sure, for a long time now. I know Angela has one for that reason, and I've heard mixed comments she's made about it. Thanks again!
Robin Powell Back when I wanted to buy a new mat I had a hard time finding the standard one...and also not having to pay an arm and a leg for it. I haven’t checked lately if that’s still the case though. Good to know though that you don’t have to deal with figuring out the blade adjustments anymore with the newer models. I went through all my different cardstocks and tested until I found the right settings for each one and wrote it down. My mat suffered a lot 🤣
Margaret Comella Good point! I forgot to mention in my comment that the fussy cutting I did was just images that had solid/clear outlines. I’ve never tried using it on ephemera that comes in digital kits. I don’t know if the newer machines are better than mine (I’ve had mine for 4 years) but if I colored over the lines of my stamps just a little bit, it would cut funky (not on the outline).

Love the double tags, I have some large ones and ty for the this idea. The napkins blend in so nicely with the decoupaged paper. Enjoy your weekend! 👍🌸🌸🌸
Good morning! Just love all. These tags and flip outs! Be praying for your upcoming surgery! Thanks for sharing! Blessings!💕
Stunning ❣️🌻💚
Fun pieces.
🌞Good Saturday Morning Gayle. Love all the napkin creations. Thanks for all your great videos. They are so FUN 😉. Blanca 🙂
Morning Blanca! ❤️
Love your tags. I cant wait to do some tomorrow's. It makes all the piecing you've done brings to mind all the paper I'd fogotton I had that would be great on the tags
Thanks! Love them and a great way to use all my scraps.
Love these also. You've got so much talent and creativity.
I like Tim Holtz's flower and butterfly ECT pkg's because they are already cut out. There's no fussy cutting lol !!l
I also love Antonio's stencol. It's very pretty with the two colors !!
Good morning dear Gayle 🤗. Love the double tags, they are really cute. Thank you for sharing 🤗
Good Morning, Marilyn! ❤️
Big hugs. Stay cool. Love, M.
Just love these
I recently got rid of my Silhouette for the Scan n Cut.
My Silhouette you needed ear plugs to be in the same room with! haha.
May I ask which model you bought? I am also looking to buy; instead of fussy cutting. Thank you.
@@SHYsArt The SDX125
@@kchaystack Thanks for the quick answer. :)
I'm so confused! Why do you think some people say it's horrible for fine details & "broken outlines", and then you make it sound like a dream?
Thank you so much, Sharon, for all your kind words! You brighten my day, my friend! ❤️
Awww - Ditto sweet lady!!! 🤗🌷💕
I missed out on the journal with pouch. People must just sit on etsy and watch.....lol
I'm going to look for the video on this project, I have made something similar using brownpaper lunchbags as the base .
I love the tag kits from Tracie and artymaze , I made an ephemera folder just for those kits, I love getting ideas on doing them up.
didn't think they could get more beautiful than they were, but it happened.....I LOVE these so much! tfs
Daisy Collins or Tsuamirose has one and recently did a whole video on the Scan and Cut.
Gorgeous ephemera, I love all the embellishments you used 🤗
this is my favorite kind of video Gayle - i love what you did - very inspiring - thank you xx
lovely projects as always Gayle :) Just ordered myself some napkins, id quite forgotten how beautiful they look, so im looking forward to playing with them, tags & journal cards as well as envelopes now :)
Also a quick note, I have just put up some of my favourite vintage handwritten letters and documents on my etsy, Krafting Kitty Kat, hope you enjoy gals.
I appreciate the input, Roxanne! ❤️
Like the double tags and the neutral collages!
I really want a SNC but its not in my budget however, how much are you selling your old one? And would it be something that could be mailed? Ty
I love my scan and cut you can fussy cut and it you can update info when available love it.
Ooh! They came out beautifully. Love the tag on tag idea.
They all turned out so gorgeous!!
Happy happy Saturday morning sweet Gayle! I hope you have a great day! 🥀🌹🌷⚘🌻🌿🌾🌴
Happy day, Lorie! 😘❤️
Wonderful ephemera pieces!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)
These are terrific ideas on how to decorate & layer, thanks....
Your neutral tags are really pretty. I can't wait to try this.
Thanks so much for the info!! ❤️
The tags are beautiful. Have a wonderful weekend. hugs.
Waouhhhhhhhhh bravo superbe 👏👏✨✨🦋
I’ve been trying to make some tags similar to yours and I’m loving how relaxing it has been! It has been very addictive and I wish I had more time to play☺️tfs🌺
Sure enjoy watching you work. Where did you get the zippered poaches please. I want to downsize the number of boxes (I'll recycle them instead).
Thank you for all of your videos it help me a lot
Morning Gayle - beautiful ephemera - Hugs.
Great ephemera, Gayle! Hope the surgery is quick and easy! 💗
These are all so pretty.
Beautiful tags!❤️
Do you have a video on how you made your sticker storage book?
Wow, all so beautiful! The tags are so amazing too...may have to buy the kits.
I love your book of ephemera! Did you make it?
I have a scan n cut, to be honest it sits in the cupboard collecting dust 😔 i keep procrastinating to take it out and do all the updates that is required for it. I need to find inspiration again. I loved it when I first started using it but then I moved and have not used it since that was 3 years ago
Thanks for that...it’s what I’m worried about too. ❤️
Your napkin project is lovely. Thank you, I enjoy ur tutorials. I have a question bout ur stencil. I would like to how I can find & purchase one. Like the design. Be blessed & safe!! Happy crafting!!👍🔖🦋
I’m sorry I’m no help, I received it in happy mail. 🥴❤️
Hi Gale,
Another great video as usual. Just a thought, would it work to use the top tag on the layered tags as a flip up. To increase the journaling space and not lose the pretty papers on the back. Much love. Xxxxx
Great idea, Deborah!! 👍❤️
You got a lot done
VERY LOVELY TAGS-TFS-HUGS/BLESSINGS
I missed out again, only by one hour this time; Nature's Remedies Vintage Junk Journal w/Travel Pouch. I was too busy watching your videos, lol.
Beautiful tags !! Tfs 💖
Beautiful work Gayle. Wonder if you hinged that top decorated tag to the large tag, what that would look like. Your smaller tag then could be used for hidden journaling. Just a thought. Have a great day!
Love that idea, Ellen! ❤️
What a cute organizer holding your birds and butterfly's...did you make that?......Love Watching you
My friend, Martha Manigross, made it. She’s Shabby Craft Studio on Etsy. ❤️
It's so cool woow beautiful 😍
@@codegrrl It has to have a good outline or it won't cut well. The newer models may not have that issue. I don't know.
Hello Gayle, that white kinder messy looking stuff that under bird card can you identify n tell me what it called so I can purchase please I'm looking for all different kinds of stuff like that for background, just got cheese cloth n burlap ,that looks real nice what you used thank you Alanna,so happy you had a great holiday n I love listening to the whole story

Hi Gayle, I love your videos and the chatting you do. After hours of watching you, I am finally trying some tags and journal page layouts. I have to ask about your wooden handled distress ink applicator. If I am remembering correctly it was a gift. I can’t find something like it online or in Etsy. Can you point me in the right direction? From a fan of yours, Felicia in CA (fa-lisha)
Absolutely, Felicia! Find the handle at www.etsy.com/shop/TheRamblinCrafter. They may not have a listed item, but if you request them to make you one, they will. Feel free to tell them that I sent you over. ❤️
Thank you so much for your quick reply. I enjoy spending time with your crafting videos. Thank you 😍
