Man you should create your own DaVinci resolve tutorial for beginners. You explained everything so clearly and to the point. This video could apply no matter what camera you’re using.
I would just like to take a moment to thank you. This has REALLY changed everything in terms of video from my Z8. Using LUTs and plugins has worked ok but is hit and miss. THIS was the missing info I needed to get the most out of my camera. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much. I just started using N-Log footage, but my grading results were disappointing. Following your workflow I'm really happy now with the results.
why did you address contrast on a parallel node rather than on the same node as exposure? and why did you choose to do a parallel node rather than a second serial node? does this preserve the footage better?
Is it possible in Da Vinci to save that as a template to quickly duplicate that with new footage and make changes from there? I am sure there would be but I am green as grass with Da Vinci. Cheers
I shot underexposed for the heck of it just testing my D7100.. I found this video out of nowhere... This whole tutorial literally made the footage look absolutely fantastic(despite the noise for my underexposure) but typically everything is all screwed up if I used Gamma 1% the whole durn video is screwed up... This tut set me in the right direction and the results are awesome! Yes, the DSLR footage took well to the n-log as well as every profile and for once in my youtube time, what he did that I followed... actually matched!!!!!
In color management area, you chose Output color space to be Rec.709 Gamma 2.4. Ive seen other tutorials just do Rec.709.... does this difference matter?? does it matter if you are working on a Mac as opposed to a PC?? many thanks
I assume that since the color space transform nodes are exclusive to that (those) clips you can import different camera footage from another source and edit them together?
GOLD!!! Thank you so much! I had no idea how to handle my N-Log footage correctly till now. Thanks again! Anyway, Ninja V displays it's BT.2020. Is that the same as Rec.2020?
I followed all these steps and once i export the colors look completely different. What do I need to do to make them look the same as the timeline once exported?
hi, my footage looks oversaturated and horrible ( reds have gone mad ). I've recorded my material on Z6II in 4k. I did apply Your workflow and it didn't help. Can You help me?
Thank you so much for Breaking down nlog, I didn’t know it shoots rec 2020... Very informative and well done sir. 👏 What's your optimal Z9 camera setting for video?
Nikon Log needs some improvement to get more DR. I think Panasonic’s got the best Log of all, at the moment. Also, if you like film emulation I would strongly suggest you try Dehancer. Developing process works differently, ( not adding but subtracting).

Yes more videos like this. For example with the new luts, settings and exporting
This was "the" lesson I was looking for, thanks very much Daniel
Daniel much appreciated your tutorial especially the LUT correction process, thanks.
Just what I was looking for. A workable process. Super helpful!
This was SUPER helpful. Thank you!!! Did not know we actually had to use rec.2020.
Fantastic tutorial ! Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much !!!

Thank you for this demo. It really was a great help. I’ve been grading with the wrong settings all this time. 😅
Thanks again Daniel, you know your stuff, and know how to explain it.
Anything you can post to help Nikon Z users is going to be very welcome by us owners.

Can you do a tutorial on how to use the nlog LUT? Showcase the specific parameters it works in?
wow, great tutorial
Thank you for this!
Your audio is improve able...but your color grading know how is for all n log shooter really great 👍
please make a video on the color tab... using the qualifier, masking of peoples faces, etc
wow !!!
this was super informative , thank you .
Mega cool...how could I now integrate a color checker for the colors???

What about premiere pro I don't use the DaVinci resolve
I followed all these steps and once i export the colors look completely different. What do I need to do to make them look the same as the timeline once exported?
Check your export settings…
@@russellwright9961 that is obvious. What settings is it supposed to be
Exactly what I was looking for, thank you!
Thank you so much!

I tried now and oranges got red.
Why not just set davinci up in colour managed. It recognises n-log and gives same result as using CST?
Very interesting - more videos like that
Merci beaucoup
How about a video on outputting HDR? Why record in Nlog to output rec.709?
Wish they had film look in the camera itself without using editing apps lol😂...
This was a helpful video tho... thank you so much ❤

Music needs to be turned down, who reviewed this? This isn't a music video!
And the final grade..... LOOKS AWFUL))
Looks like he was done at 5:50 but kept going as this is an explainer video about editing N-Log.
