  • First mow for my brother-in-law's new battery-powered Super Recycler. He and his family just moved into this house and the yard has been neglected for some time. See how the Super Recycler handled the crazy tall grass, especially in the backyard.

    You did't mention how long the battery last

    • @JimmyLewisMows
      @JimmyLewisMows  2 года назад +3

      I did mention that the front yard used 25% of the battery. We had the mower in "auto" mode there. The rest of the battery lasted through the majority of the backyard, and we had it switched to "max" power for most of that. I had probably 100-200 square feet left to finish before the battery died. I regret not mentioning that at the end of the video. Both of us were pretty strapped for time. Battery life will for sure be covered in the review video later on.

    Jinny, thanks for the intro about the sun Joe dethatcher, I de thatched my lawn and I could not believe how much dead grass was on my lawn. I collected 9 large black trash bags of dead grass, the sun Joe works great, when my mail man stopped by to deliver my mail he said he has the same machine and he said it works great. Oh I also used the Scott’s lawn Rake it worked perfect collecting the grass was faster then using the lawn mower, I did use the mower on the final sweep of the lawn 2 times and still picked up a full large black black of dead grass. Then put some top soil down in some areas and the seed and feed. Thanks again, I like your channel keep up the content. 👍🏻👍🏻

    Great demo Jimmy. Love the slo-mo of the grass dumping into the toter. Also hilarious how your brother-in-law got you to do the hard part in the back😅. Thanks for the review - professional as always, and now I have a new toy to hope for. I’m a Toro fan myself and didn’t know they made an electric mower.

    Definitely something to look into when battery technology gets to the point where they can last a lot longer. For now I’ll keep my old HRX, but that Toro is quite the mower.

    I’m glad you guys liked the new mower! The performance blade will cut your battery time almost in 1/2, but the quality of cut is so much better. I love mine! 👍

    • @JimmyLewisMows
      @JimmyLewisMows  2 года назад +1

      I will be curious to see how the performance blade changes things. There doesn't seem to be a dramatic different in the shape of the blade. I'm surprised to hear you lost so much battery time.

      @@JimmyLewisMows Sorry Jimmy, there’s actually a third blade which is what I ordered from TORO. TORO Performance Bagging Blade Part # 108-3759-03.

      That’s what I’m talking about with batteries. We need to try and figure out ways to make the battery last longer and possibly invest in better battery technologies

  • @paramotorbrandon
    @paramotorbrandon Год назад

    I'm interested in the Super Recycler for sure, but I've got to say, I'm so glad my first gen 60v 22 Recycler has a side discharge. I use it if grass ever gets that tall, and the battery lasts much longer than trying to recycle 12 inch grass. Afterwards I take the side chute off and go over it again

    • @LL-mt2nz
      @LL-mt2nz Год назад +1

      The SR also has a side discharge capability with an attachment that attaches to the rear and directs clippings to the left

    • @paramotorbrandon
      @paramotorbrandon Год назад

      @@LL-mt2nz I should have clarified, I don't like rear side discharge 😂. But you make a good point, at least it's still an option

    That’s pretty amazing. Electric is getting better but just not quite there yet at least for commercial use. Maybe 3 to 5 more years. I mean who wants to carry about a handful of expensive batteries all day lol great video man. Have a great weekend

    • @matthewmueller4776
      @matthewmueller4776 2 года назад +1

      Great point - when they eventually do get better, maybe commercial folks can grab a solar charger and a stack of batteries, then no need for stinky and expensive gas cans to fill up all the time. Ryobi has an electric rider mower - wonder if it will eventually be fit for commercial use. Probably not now though!

      @@matthewmueller4776 I’m hopeful that the batteries will last the day like electric cars. I know those are totally different but with better battery technology and more efficient electric motors who knows. Guess we will have to wait and see. Good comments Matthew

    Hello, is the hourly battery usage the same for the performance knife and the standard knife at economy rpm

    • @JimmyLewisMows
      @JimmyLewisMows  Год назад

      Hey Roman, I find the performance blade tends to push the mower towards the faster rpm more regularly, which draws more from the battery, so you lose a bit more battery life than the standard blade, all depending on your environment - length and thickness of the grass, etc.

      Just wanted to knock down the tall grass and get it out. No way should anyone mulch grass that tall. I plan on testing this not only at his place but in my yard also. I’d like to have a full review out by the fall season.

      I like how Toro advertises it as the most powerful BATTERY instead of saying anything abt its motor. Do you know how much torque the motor generates? How does it compare to the milwaukee and ego select cut xp.

  • @btsllc9676
    @btsllc9676 Год назад

    By the evidence of the cutting capability at 2:50 in the front yard and at 5:00 in the back yard, I am not wasting money on one of these mowers. I was hoping battery power would have been better than what I just witnessed. Disappointing, extremely disappointing.
