Thanks very much, You just clarified a night of trying to understand the manual on this aspect, it was straight forward and simple to understand. VE9MWB 73
This video was perfect, just what I needed. I downloaded both the user manual and the Advanced user manual and still had trouble. (Maybe I'm just dumb). This video made it easy. Thanks - Bill

Hi again it says minimum 20ah power supply.I found some on eBay 20ah-30ah 12.v for led cctv etc do you think will work with the radio? I’m new in ham radio and I don’t want to spend for fancy psu from radio shop I just want to simply to work with radio. Many thanks for reply
I can't say for certain without seeing the power supply. I read something about cheap power supplies in a ham radio facebook group but don't remember the brand or where they were sold. My recommendation is to buy a supply made for radio from someone like mfj, pyramid, jetstream, etc...you'll spend a little more but the supply will work better than a cheapo unit and you'll be able to use it for more things in the future. Or buy used from someone you trust. With radio gear you often get what you pay for.....
Your memory numbers are not the same in the menu, there are only 44 menu selections and, the naming a certain frequency by name is not working for me. What am I doing wrong.
I'm not sure if the power level is stored in the memory or if it is just set in the radio and applied to everything until changed. I'm at work now and can't check the radio
Don't you wish all videos were like that? Informative, concise, clear, easy to follow.
A picture is worth a thousand words and a vid is worth sooooo much more!

I LOVE your videos. They are so informative and highly useful. Be well and have a happy and healthy 2020!
Thank you for the kind words! 73 and wishing you a great 2020 as well!
Wow great video
Excellent information.
Thanks for sharing. Yaesu is known for having extreme menu driven radios. They are not intuitive for first time use. 73! WA4HTG
Nice
Thanks, I didn't want to drag out my programming cables for one frequency. KK6AUI
Thanks for the help, user manual not that good.
Is that the MT. Greylock repeater? You must be in Massachusetts.
I'm in NE CT

I've been running mine, and my ICOM 7300 simultaneasly with an Alinco DM-330MV for several years now. Never any drop out. It's well worth the money.
Is the FTM-3100R programming pretty much the same process?
As far as I know, yes
@SevenFortyOne Thank you, for the quick reply! I Just received my 3100R.
@SevenFortyOne The menu is slightly different, but your video helped a ton! Getting great reports. I'll get the rest of it programmed tomorrow.
Will this programming work for the 3100
Hope the instructions work with FTM-3100 too!

You lost me at the "automatic offset" at 1:03. Mine did not set any offset. How do I do that?
You'll have to check the manual...there is a way to turn off the automatic offset but I don't remember where it is in the menu tree
Why can't they make a radio that is actually easy to just change the pl tone
How do I change the power level from low to med on a preselected programmer channel?
sorry, I have the 3100
I'm not sure if the power level is stored in the memory or if it is just set in the radio and applied to everything until changed. I'm at work now and can't check the radio
Found it. TXPO is a button on the front. Just needed to decipher the code. Thanks
Any way to delete a memory?
Press the V / M MW button for a second, select the channel you want to delete, press the SQL button, confirm by pressing the SQL again.
@@valdirepj thank you!
