Nice video that covers the basic format for coding. Due to COVID, all my interviews were over zoom which also provides a text transcript. The redaction and correction process of the transcript is a form of coding as well, in that you are immersing yourself in the data. IfD gives you a good starting point in this process~
Hi Amila, these days I just use the dictate function in microsoft word - I I let my audio read aloud and it captures it. Or you could upload your audio to RUclips and you will get an automatic transcript. We will do a video on it soon.

@@wendygalvan2774 RUclips may be an issue I suggest you ask your school's Ethics Committee (or IRB) about this, but I believe the answer would be no. You may need to read RUclips's copyright policy and show that RUclips will never use these videos anywhere, will never claim any ownership rights on these, and will keep them secure and confidential. I don't think you can be sure about all of them. Anyhow, I would find it uncomfortable if I see that the researcher uploaded interviews to RUclips since you cannot control the security of your data on RUclips databases. But, still follow your school's suggestion. Apart from that, MS Word should be working very well for this purpose. Also, try to make your interviews on Zoom with cloud recording. This will generate a quality transcription. Hope this is helpful. @James DiLorenzo
