Man, Parting was just solidly on point for most of this game. What a ride!
the only thing I'm criticizing is that he took the high yield base on the right but didnt mine from it until the terran attacked....

Might also have been another 200 IQ strategy! Make it seem to your opponent like you have more resources in the bank than you actually might! Could see more like it in 2021 Starcraft haha

Nice battle! I'm a Terran player, and I wouldn't have did what he did. I would have built like 50 marines and would have forgotten about the 2nd base!

You cant forget about the natural. If you build the 3rd base and split your army in half, Protoss would continue to harrass both the bases non-stop with blink stalker.
I would have built 50 widow mines and a sea of missile turrets. Then walked away from my computer...

This game is pushing me in direction of playing SC2 and picking protoss. I wander if i can become one of the best in this game also.
16:00 is like a campaign mission where parting has to break these fortifications with only a few elite units lol

There is nothing I love more in SC2 than seeing the aggressive player win
Putting a Nexus in your opponents expansion is the SC2 version of the middle finger lol

lol why? Im a starcraft noob that likes the replays, but they seem decent enough on ground. Sure they're not as cost effective but they still do something.

@@CrumpetsNBiscuits They are pretty good on the ground with a hoard of range liberators backing them up since they keep your liberators alive by having air supriority, beat stalkers head on, and liberators can take care of anything other than stalkers or air units. HOWEVER, disruptors counter them hard because they are very slow on the ground, and because Maru didn't have medivecs his bio can't afford to stim, and therefore aren't fast enough to dodge disruptors either. Those disruptors at the end are absolutely fantastic by Parting.
I feel like when Maru was the best he used to marine drop much more and played everywhere on the map. Nowadays it feels like he is always playing from behind at defensive mode and that always translates to less minerals = lose.
Well, question is: How you gonna do that in the meta with terran? Yeah you can try proxy rax, to counter pressure the start of parting, but you probably gonna loose your main in this game. Cheese options or snkeay plays with terran are rare.
Terran has fallen behind in the meta. There is no game changing unit like disrupter, DT, HT, baneling or infestor. Only macro advantage works, or constant superior micro. Its getting boring, being just good in defense. That not how you win games.
@@theabstract100 ghosts are the most game changing unit in the game, being able to destroy an entire army in 1 shot if the opponent is distracted is more than good, they don't have units like banelings no, but they do have widow mines, they dont have units like high templar no, but they do have a capital ship that can teleport across the map instantly, Terran is a good race but people don't utilise its tools properly
@@gronkmen5746 nukes are just creep tumor clearers usually. Very very (I don't know how much more very to add) rare that they can connect with the army at this level. Banelings don't have friendly fire. That's a huge advantage of banelings. Widow mines have friendly fire. Disrputors do have friendly fire but they are way more powerful at zoning away the enemy. And they also recharge way faster than mines. Mines are good I'm not saying they're not. But oftentimes we see banes and disruptors changing the tide of the game. Very rarely can mines reverse a losing game once the enemy brings overlords or observers with the army.
@@gronkmen5746 Are you talking of useless Nukes, which no one falls for even in silver league, you have no clue if you think that thing is good? Or EMP against Protoss? EMP is a good tool, but just move back, shield will recover. Window Mines doesnt work well on high lvls, the pros are too fast and always have vision with observer and its just usefull for defense. Certainly no game changer, because you can rarely suprise large armies.
And bc are nice, but so expensive and good to counter. Thats why you see bc rushes, but not so much bc late game. Too expensive, too much counter. And if you loose them, try rebuild so much suply as terran, good luck! There is no 30+ larva waiting or 8 warp gates.
@@theabstract100 Being good in defense is one of Terrans perks, they're still very good in other ways. Nukes are not useless, like, at all, with all due respect, if you think nukes are useless, you probably arent too skilled at the game, it's why every single Terran professional player uses nukes lategame, because they're very good. 1 single cloaked unit can wipe out a whole mineral line and destroy several buildings for a few hundreds of minerals and a bit of gas, that's pretty fuckin good, and even if they don't destroy anything, it causes enough of the mining to stop that it still works out. Nukes are the best way to clear static defense and any locked down position. And as Herald said, they also work very well in clearing creep. The army gone in 1 nuke is a very rare scenario, but the fact that it has that opportunity is still significant. Same with banelings, as you said, pros are too fast and always have vision, banelings only get good connections if the pro isn't paying attention. Splitting is not difficult, at all, and to add to what Herald said, Widow Mines do have friendly fire, but if you get an armoury, they become invisible in the ground, and there isnt detection in every place at all times, there's been more than enough proof of widow mines destroying groups of Mutalisks. The difference is, Widow mines can attack the air, and banelings are green and very visible, you can see them coming and that gives you time to split. Though I'm not sure why widow mines have friendly fire, I do think Disruptors should have it just because their damage is so good that its just needed to balance it out, and to theabstract, EMPs can instantly remove energy from another unit, so can high templar, Infestors can't, BCs do have counters and are expensive thats true, but if you fly it across the map chances are you'll never lose that unit because you can just warp it back, after you have a BC it takes you causing a mistake to lose it

I LOVED the dynamic unit composition Parting had !! Stalker-Zealot to Colossus to Carriers to offing the Colossus to Disruptor, High-Templar for splash at last !! Just following along his unit transitions to counter the Terran was a ride in and of itself !! Lowko DELIVERING those "creme de la creme" SC2 games !!

That was an awesome game. That being said, can we talk about Lowkos ability to totally stop his train of thought, comment on an intense moment then return to the tat train of thought without forgetting? Because that impresses me.
Even though I'm a Protoss player, I flinched after every disruptor balls at the end of the match (30:08)... So painful, they make me feel dirty...

24:00 I have actually been using that way of building structures now when I play Terran if you have good amount of money grab like 6 secs off of the mineral line then shift click them back to the minerals after you build x amount of structures gets everything done in the time zone it takes one to get done it’s super helpful if your struggling as a Terran player try to use that don’t make 1 scv do all the building structures your not Protoss pull some scvs off and build x amount all at the same time
Lowko casting like a BOSS, this is a prime example of High level god tier players! Still DT are op with their blink ability and terran doesn't have the necessary counter for that, tho it would be easy to fix that : give the Terran their defensive structures like Swann has and this is an easy fix for both races (protoss and zerg) and for the love of Lowko pls give the Terrans more AOE damage that isnt static !!! Yes am talking about tanks and liberators!!! (the first should have Nova's spider mines) & (the later one should have an upgrade that makes it able to attack structure for the love of Maru!!!)
Terran has a pretty good defense for that though. Sensor towers, missile turrets, ravens detect, and any sensible player leaves some units behind to ward off drops/run-bys. DT blink is strong but it relies on careless or distracted players to be useful.
@@joshuafischer684 all you said is true but protoss put photon canon and it replace all that you mentioned so am not asking for a all in 1 like protoss but some static defense.
@@joshuafischer684 DT blinks with 15-16 units can flat-out kill 1 CC with a single strike. And they can wreck the entire bio army in 1 step as well. I dont have problem with DT sneaking in, because Terran supposed to defend against that. its the freaking mass blink-and-strike tatics that drive it nut.

I think disrupters play is becoming my favorite composition to watch because I’m constantly asking are the purification’s gonna land or won’t they, and I feel like at least for this game the answer to liberator play since the liberators don’t attack the purification novas
