I work in mental health and substance abuse for unfunded/Medicaid clients and cannot tell you how difficult it is for people to get access to services. It’s so sad. People who truly want help cannot get it because of funding issues etc. 😥
Kelly Scott- That really sucks that your place of work is having a funding issue, but there are other sources out there that provide counseling/therapy for those in need. You'd be surprised how many programs are out there for low to no income people.
I've been on both sides (needed drug abuse assistance and mental health care AND I've helped patients get drug abuse treatment and mental healthcare, I'm a CMA) there are definitely some great programs for low income/no income people but you're really limited and usually there is a waiting list or certain restrictions (like some places can only help you if you're actively homeless, etc) really what it takes more than anything is for the patient to WANT to get better... to follow up and do the work that needs to be done (return appointments, taking medications as prescribed, telling all health care providers ALL their health problems/concerns.) Here in Oregon we have some wonderful mental health resources but unfortunately I feel like a lot of our homeless here are people with mental health problems that have fallen thru the cracks. And I don't care if you don't agree with me but I'm convinced 90% of drugs addicts are self medicating for serious mental health issues. We NEED to address the REAL problem and then maybe they'll be able to STAY clean. Sorry for my rant, lol. But yeah the doctors and facilities (top educated providers and specialists in their field and four star rehab facilities!?!?) that these nit-wits have available to them and they just turn their noses up at it? Blows my mind that they take it all for granted. If people only knew the real costs of some of these places it would make their heads explode!
Nihilism Is the Only Way- I agree for the most part, I know if you're using drugs and want to get help; your best chance is through a homeless shelter, but you also have to meet a bunch of requirements. There are churches and other programs that help out with it too you just have to look around and ask questions, the health department/welfare also has programs for drug addicts; but the main topic is non addict counseling (Brianna turning down counseling), it is a lot easier for families or a single person (not drug/addict related) to get counseling. There are even hotlines you can call, or you could admit yourself to a hospital (feeling suicidal) and they could start you on paperwork to find a Therapist with medication. What I'm trying to say is that it isn't non existent or "extremely expensive" for low income to non income persons. I've gone through multiple outlets/programs to get help when I was low/no income, the addict part I learned through trying to help my mom; she used Meth for most of my childhood and young adult life, she has been clean and sober for 8 years and still goes to therapy through free programs. I also completely agree that addicts are self medicating, I haven't come across an addict that didn't start using because of a painful loss or traumatic experience.
I understand Barbara's frustration with Jenelle and David but why isn't she seeking custody of Kaiser and Ensley like she did with Jace? David obviously hates Kaiser.
It bothers me that there is this whole facade that this show is meant to spread awareness about the challenges of teen pregnancy...Maybe it started out like that, but it has just turned into another rachet reality tv show where the problems of troubled young adults are exploited in exchange for D-list "fame". I hope you get to chat with Dr. Drew again and address some of these issues, Grace!
Agreed! I won't even watch the show anymore because I don't want them getting my "view". I just come to Grace instead. I really wonder what would have become of these girls and their children's lives if they actually had to work to pay bills and not just continue spitting out babies for a story line.
Jacqueline Milowski I think his hands are tied by MTV. I listen to a few podcasts with him and occasionally teen mom is mentioned. He is so careful about what he says and kinda dances around the topic. But he is usually extremely outspoken on any other topic. Even thinking way back to the beginning of teen mom he used to be harder on them and have much more to say then he does now.
Kails segment was so embarrassing. I don’t believe for one single second that her and Chris EVER had a relationship. They were banging and she got knocked up then he dropped her and she claimed to “love” him because kail only likes guys when they don’t want her anymore!!

My son has ADHD and takes meds for it. I'm a recovering addict who used to take anything I could to not feel. But when you have bad anxiety(as Janelle does)you will stay away from uppers, trust me. So I don't think she is taking her sons meds just because I know how bad anxiety is and how bad that type of medication can make the anxiety turn into a panic attack because it makes your heart rate jump up, it would kill me if I took my sons meds because I have severe tachycardia/anxiety/panic attacks. If I took any upper it would more than likely send me into a myocardial infarction or stroke or both. Since her anxiety is so bad she will be doing downers like pain pills/benzos/heroin etc.. Not coke/meth/speed(which is what her sons meds are, a very low dose speed but still speed). I feel bad for these girls. Almost every one of them suffers from some type of mental illness and their lives are blasted in public for all the world to see and the judgement and hate these young girls get is just sad. It's sad how MTV just ignores this and keeps making money off of them. Can any of you imagine your life being filmed for the world to see? How would you feel when people start tearing you down for everything in your life? No one is perfect, not a single one of us. Just stop the judement. This show needs to be ended so these girls, their baby's/family's can move on! MTV is creating the drama in these girls lives more than anything and all for ratings!! No one likes to watch Chelsea because she's "boring" but yet put down these other girls for their problems and drama!? Make any sense? Doesn't to me....
Janelle is obviously a terrible mother and should not have custody of her children or be allowed around anyone else's children for that matter. That being said, I hold MTV accountable for allowing this trainwreck to continue on for ratings. It's all about greed, not the well being of these innocent children. They continue to coddle Janelle, excuse & downplay her abusive behavior toward, not only her children, but basically anyone else she encounters. The road rage incident, putting her child in danger & then accusing him of lying about it moments later while he was obviously already traumatized, was the straw that broke the camel's back. Dr drew is terrible at his job. As a doctor (is he even really a doctor?) and as the host of these reunions. Also, I feel so bad for Jace, Kaiser, and Ensley. Spencer Allegra Barbara has said she just can't raise another one. I don't blame her at all. We are too close to the same age. She is already on her second generation and I know she at least babysits for some of her other grandchildren. There is just a time when you have to say no more. We raised our children now it's time they raise theirs.

Kailyn runs to whoever will love her(girl/guy) it doesn't matter. She's for sure a love & sex addict and I love that Dr. Drew said it to her but, here she goes, passing it off as, "intensity" Bye Girl! Everytime someone calls her out, on something she ALWAYS deflects but, she can call out everyone else. I remember when she was first on here, she was about being "real" and "no bs" but, almost ten years in, every other situation is, "I don't want to talk about it on camera." The things she aren't willing to talk about, aren't even a huge deal, such as arguments off camera. Hell, they argue about everything else on here.
I know this is an unpopular opinion and it 100% doesn't justify being a deadbeat dad, but I really think Davon stays away because of how crazy the family is. Me cousin Brees own issues about her dad being gone she is way hard on guys. Like not even letting them see their kids unless they sit down and have a couch while her and her mom and sister dog them and scream at them the whole time. So who knows how much of a father he was actually being cuz she ain't going to see it for what it really was. I think Bri thinks therapy is for crazy people. I grew up in the ghetto, and everyone thought therapy/counseling was for crazy people. I know when my mom had to take my brother to counseling for behavioral problems, he got a little better; but she told a lot of people about how it helped her out, they were so stubborn and uneducated that they still believed it was for crazy people. Even one of my mom's closest friends laughed at her and said that she doesn't need it, because she's not mentally unstable. It's really sad how some people still think that way

ADD medicine is pretty controversial and there are plenty of good parents who opt for behavioral therapy or natural approaches to aid the child. I definitely don't think that opting not to give your kid those drugs is anywhere close to medical abuse. If she were keeping him from cancer treatment or asthma medication or something I could maybe see that. I do however think it's foolish of her to not give the medicine on the basis of not being the primary custodian of the child and making a medical decision that is against Barbara's is probably against court order and could cost her in the long run. I don't think she's in the position to make those decisions. I also think it could be a bad idea to not give the medicine if going on and off of it is harmful to Jace which I bet it is. But going against a doctor's advise and not gving those drugs in it's self is not medical abuse. A lot of people don't believe it's safe.
You could really tell Brianna needs a Posse/ hypeman to fight her battles. It's a shame that they couldn't act like adults and just talk their problems outs. But of course Kailyn watched one too many Avenger movies and wanted to Hulk smash Brianna. And Brianna just got done watching Bad Girls Club and Love & Hip-Hop so neither one of them knew how to act.

I've gone through multiple outlets/programs to get help when I was low/no income, the addict part I learned through trying to help my mom; she used Meth for most of my childhood and young adult life, she has been clean and sober for 8 years and still goes to therapy through free programs. I also completely agree that addicts are self medicating, I haven't come across an addict that didn't start using because of a painful loss or traumatic experience.

My son has ADHD and takes meds for it. I'm a recovering addict who used to take anything I could to not feel. But when you have bad anxiety(as Janelle does)you will stay away from uppers, trust me. So I don't think she is taking her sons meds just because I know how bad anxiety is and how bad that type of medication can make the anxiety turn into a panic attack because it makes your heart rate jump up, it would kill me if I took my sons meds because I have severe tachycardia/anxiety/panic attacks. If I took any upper it would more than likely send me into a myocardial infarction or stroke or both. Since her anxiety is so bad she will be doing downers like pain pills/benzos/heroin etc.. Not coke/meth/speed(which is what her sons meds are, a very low dose speed but still speed). I feel bad for these girls. Almost every one of them suffers from some type of mental illness and their lives are blasted in public for all the world to see and the judgement and hate these young girls get is just sad. It's sad how MTV just ignores this and keeps making money off of them. Can any of you imagine your life being filmed for the world to see? How would you feel when people start tearing you down for everything in your life? No one is perfect, not a single one of us. Just stop the judement. This show needs to be ended so these girls, their baby's/family's can move on! MTV is creating the drama in these girls lives more than anything and all for ratings!! No one likes to watch Chelsea because she's "boring" but yet put down these other girls for their problems and drama!? Make any sense? Doesn't to me....
Janelle is obviously a terrible mother and should not have custody of her children or be allowed around anyone else's children for that matter. That being said, I hold MTV accountable for allowing this trainwreck to continue on for ratings. It's all about greed, not the well being of these innocent children. They continue to coddle Janelle, excuse & downplay her abusive behavior toward, not only her children, but basically anyone else she encounters. The road rage incident, putting her child in danger & then accusing him of lying about it moments later while he was obviously already traumatized, was the straw that broke the camel's back. I think Bri thinks therapy is for crazy people. I grew up in the ghetto, and everyone thought therapy/counseling was for crazy people. I know when my mom had to take my brother to counseling for behavioral problems, he got a little better; but she told a lot of people about how it helped her out, they were so stubborn and uneducated that they still believed it was for crazy people. Even one of my mom's closest friends laughed at her and said that she doesn't need it, because she's not mentally unstable. It's really sad how some people still think that way

Put a warning out to all men, who plans to make one/or all of these women pregnant. Make them see the clips of how the fathers are being treated. Almost like, if they had had to rape Briana, and not a mutual decision. RUN, RUN RUN. These women blame those dads, that they are scumbacks, but listen, Briana should have protected herself, AND demanded, that her partners also used protection, unless she did want to get pregnant,
ADD medicine is pretty controversial and there are plenty of good parents who opt for behavioral therapy or natural approaches to aid the child. I definitely don't think that opting not to give your kid those drugs is anywhere close to medical abuse. If she were keeping him from cancer treatment or asthma medication or something I could maybe see that. I do however think it's foolish of her to not give the medicine on the basis of not being the primary custodian of the child and making a medical decision that is against Barbara's is probably against court order and could cost her in the long run. I don't think she's in the position to make those decisions. I also think it could be a bad idea to not give the medicine if going on and off of it is harmful to Jace which I bet it is. But going against a doctor's advise and not gving those drugs in it's self is not medical abuse. A lot of people don't believe it's safe.

You could really tell Brianna needs a Posse/ hypeman to fight her battles. It's a shame that they couldn't act like adults and just talk their problems outs. But of course Kailyn watched one too many Avenger movies and wanted to Hulk smash Brianna. And Brianna just got done watching Bad Girls Club and Love & Hip-Hop so neither one of them knew how to act.
It was super low for Brittany to come up behind Kail like that. Yeah, she was going after her sister but Briana is the one who invited it. If Brittany would’ve stood back, it probably wouldn’t have escalated how it did.
