Check out this video, which I just saw for the first time yesterday: ruclips.net/video/dyglnLD2joM/видео.html This is what they recorded to say "Goodbye" to Avi. Kevin is celloboxing in this video; the cello is playing the part Avi would have sung had he been there to sing it.
This brilliant piece of work was recorded in Avi and Kevin’s closet and filmed in their kitchen after their video recording company cancelled on them. I believe Avi and Scott (?) did quite a bit of the video editing(?) They spent $400 on it. It landed them Grammy #1, and with good reason! Thanks for your great reaction! Subbed!
I'm so glad you mentioned that about how they produced the video. Their amazing talent is obvious from the second they open their mouths, but when you add the fact that these babies, yes I said babies cuz they were so young and new to the industry and I'm old enough to be any of their moms'.. lol. But seriously, the fact they produced this video themselves with $400, in a closet and a kitchen!! UNBELIEVABLE! They are truly amazing. Their talent is absolutely unsurpassed. Seeing them live is on my bucket list. I live in the DFW area,.. keep thinking they will come "home" soon, or even in a city nearby-ish. I'm waiting PTX!.... Lol
I still remember their beginning at the acapella show. They were the smallest group with just 5 people and they rocked the house each time. Literally were always the highlight. And you could see even the other contestents loosing their shit at how they could make this full sound with 5 voices. incredible talent.
It was also originally just going to be Scott, Mitch, and Kirsten. Avi and Kevin were extremely last minute additions when they found out they needed a minimum of 5 people. They met and got their set figured out the day before they auditioned. (For those that didn't know that part.)

In my (admittedly unqualified) opinion he's probably the best beatboxer on the planet.
Scott, Kirsten and Mitch all knew each other from age 10 and started singing together. All 5 members are very musically talented. They have an ability to mix tonality and color of their vocals like a composer using instruments to create the arrangements. Enjoy your reactions and welcome to the very deep rabbit hole. Like to recommend Havana, 90s Dance Medley and Gold.
I agree. Kevin's vocal percussion is amazing. However, Avi often gets overlooked. People notice when the bass kicks in initially and then lose track of the fact that he's working with Kevin to add bass to Kevin's beats. Avi's atmospheric additions are also crucial to the amazing sound of the whole group. Just look at how much harder Kevin has to work when Avi is singing the lead. This is why Shawn Stockman dubbed the pair the "Meat and Potatoes" of the group.
Sry. Have you ever watched/heared any Beatbox in a while? What he does is good no matter but there are many many beatboxers which are way better in any way.
@@Scaidify the assignment is to create the backing for the singers in acapella music. Not to overwhelm them with the beatboxing performance. Kevin is an instrumentalist first. I knew you would look at them differently especially after this song. The 2 that you listened to are more typical sounding. You want to be blown away, watch Pentatonix "Wizard of ahhhs" (They take newer songs to tell the story of wizard of oz) 🤯🤯
Ditto!! “The Wizard if Ahhhs” is fantastic! They use popular songs in a mashup to tell the story of the Wizard of Oz and collaborated with Todrick Hall for it. The music is - of course - incredible, but Todrick crushed the production of it!!! It’s really freaking good!
Todrick Hall's Wizard of Ahhhs featuring Pentatonix. This masterpiece is his brain child. He simply asked PTX to sing. Todrick Hall from season 9 of American Idol...to Broadway x4. He grew up in the same musical theatre camps as the Trio, although he's a bit older.
Whoever does Merchandising for PTX, please take note. We need a PTX survival kit. It needs to contain blinkers (so our eyeballs don't pop out in surprise), a chin strap that ties on top our heads (so our chins don't hit the table as we grapple with astonishment and disbelief), tape for our mouths (to fight the irrepressible urge to sing along) and a thesaurus (so that we can find words to describe what we are hearing once we get over the inevitable stuttering speechlessness).
Won't allow me to edit.... wanted to add, you said the two magic words; Mitch Slapped. If you'd like to experience the ultimate Much Slap, I personally call it the Holy Mitch Punch, watch the live Aha at the Star Vista in Singapore. It is a fan recorded video, so you know that they are for real, no fake, they just are that amazing. The fan that recorded seemed obsessed on Mitch so it's mostly him in the shot. You don't see Kevin at all, but he is there. In the very beginning he was putting Beyoncè away (his cello that he lovingly named Beyoncè), but you hear him in the main portion of the song. Some people lovingly call it the Mitch and Avi Show because it shows them off the most. Avi blows the speakers going to the basement, so sound quality not the best, and Mitch was on fire, killing it. Mitch+severe jet lag+2 chugged red bulls= what you'll see in the video. You'll thank me later.
I think that one reason why we’re obsessed with PTX: their depth…rap skills, ballads/power songs, dance, medleys, covers, originals…they can do it all.
They shot this video in a walk-in closet. They edited it in the kitchen; all of them working on it. This was mentioned when they accepted their Grammy. How amazing! Peace and bright blessings.
Myself and some other Pentaholics I know personally call both Kirstie and Mitch chameleons because they change their looks so often. Some reactors think there's someone new, I can't help but laugh and think, "nope, you are just getting trucked by the chameleons of the group"
You really need to check out their “Evolution of…” videos. They did a handful of them (Michael Jackson and Beyoncé are my favorites) and they are ALL fantastic, so pick your favorite! They’re all done in one shot, basically live. Their transitions and arrangements are incredible, the beatboxing is astounding because of all the transitions and tempo changes, and they’re so well rehearsed it’s flawless! I believe they only do UP TO to 4-5 takes to try to get it just right, but they probably get most done in 2-3 I’d be willing to wager. Watching them film those in front of a couple mics is what pushed me WELL into Pentaholic territory!
I saw a video that the production people were saying they get it in 3 but always do a 4th to see if they can do it better 😂 I love the MJ one and evolution of music.
@@milissaleatherwood6837 Yeah! Maybe there was *one* that took 5 possibly and that’s where I heard that? I knew that wasn’t the norm though, and I doubt they need to do many takes. They are PROS and perfectionists and rehearse like their mouths are on fire! 🤣
The Blue is a tribute to Daft Punk. Ben Braum (friend of Scott since he started college) does the editing and has been with them from the start. However, they do some editing on their own. You have to listen to Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy....a song with no lyrics done by a group with no instruments! Only PTX! They won a Grammy for this one too! Thanks for reacting. Excited to hear more.
Since you have an appreciation for Avi's voice, you should react to his solo music. His most successful song so far, "Change on the Rise", which was released in March 2019, 2 years after announcing he'd be leaving PTX, is a great representation of what he's created on his own. He does all vocals and sounds in the piece (aside from a bit of synth organ and tambourine in the bridge). His entire catalog is excellent, but you might also react to his latest, "First Place I Go".
The crooked smile. If you notice, she smiles with the right side of her face most of the time. She can smile with both sides, but moves to the right most of the time. When you deduce what the reason is for that, you will be even more impressed with her voice and vocal skills.
@@bobcieslinski Totally agree. To a geezer like me; very very nice. Just most people don't understand what they are seeing. To overcome something like that so early in life and then be able to sing like that. wow.... much respect.
The 90's dance medley is one of my favorit they did this last year...Mitch is singing so high in some songs!! All sing exellend ofcourse!! And the arrangement is sooo good!!
This Pentatonix vocal arrangement of 5-7 DP songs has been played by instrumental ensembles including at least one college marching band and the French Army Band on Bastille day in 2017. Pentatonix members have the talent to flawlessly sing their brilliant arrangements to stunning effect, but that's the thing, their arrangements are just genius. So genius that they inspire not just choirs and vocalists, but instrumental groups of various types to duplicate them.
I have a suggestion. React to Kiera’s video “Gold”. It’s a cool video Then react to PTXs version. You will be blown away. It’s live and their timing is insane You probably will also love their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody. They do Freddy Proud
That's a very underrated performance by them. The vocal layering is totally insane in that. It also helps reveal how much Kirstin does that people don't usually notice (because its more noticeable in that one). If there's a tricky bit of vocal layering done in the background of one of their songs, its most often her, while Mitch is more overtly in the foreground.
Glad you enjoyed this, and I love that you're now getting a taste of their INCREDIBLE diversity. They can literally take songs from ANY genre and not only do them justice, but manage to put their own twist on them and give us a few musical "surprises" in each one. I think you would enjoy seeing their renditions of Imagine and Bohemian Rhapsody, and maybe check out a few of their original songs as well. A few of my personal favorites are Coffee In Bed, Love Again, and Happy Now. BTW, there is also a video of them doing this Daft Punk medley in a private performance, live and off-mic, and it honestly sounds almost exactly the same. It's crazy. They are literally changing the a cappella game.
This was recorded in Avi and Kevin’s closet (they were living in the same apartment when they moved to L.A. after winning the Sing Off); they did the video in the kitchen! The project had a basic cost of $400! Much of the cost was editing-related. Oh, and. How about those Kevin snare drum rim shots at the end!?
Your bobbing head, smile and appreciation for their talent is why I watch so many reaction videos for PTX. The arrangement, the depth of the sound, the way they did the video….it’s all amazing! I absolutely love how this video really showcases the beatboxing just as much as the other voices.
IMHO, all PTX songs are good. A few are true surprises, though: Bohemian Rhapsody, O Come All Ye Faithful, Can’t Hold Us, Amazing Grace, and their original Christmas song in 2020-“Thank You”. Ah, one more…Over the River and Through the Woods. I NEVER expected to hear that song the way they performed it.
One of my earliest realizations about Pentatonix was, "Oh wow, this is a super-group!" Like you said there's no weak link. Each one of them could easily lead a group of their own.
You have got to keep following Pentatonix. Try "Mad World", the singing, videography and editing on this one, to me is superb. They have a wide repertoire of music to choose from. Keep listening and I'm sure you will become a Pentaholic!
I ❤ watching people react to this video/ song for the first time! PTX is next level and is so fun to see people discover them! Can't stop 😊 ! PTX = pure joy
Great reaction! Songs like this are exactly the reason why we said keep watching PTX. They're not a one trick pony that's for sure. They're awesome! Keep them coming! 😊
I just love how it combines like all of their best songs into one comprehensive mix. As well as making it their own with their own voices. And it really makes me want them to just release an entire album that's basically just an a cappella version of discovery.
I have a feeling that you'll probably want to get more of an idea of their range. So I'd suggest the following: [with Avi Kaplan as bass] Love Again, La La Latch, Say Something, Bohemian Rhapsody, Can't Sleep Love (try to find the live version at Popspring), Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy (Grammy), Jolene (Grammy); [with Matt] New Rules x Are You That Somebody, Mad World, Blinding Lights, Love Me When I Don't, I Saw Three Ships.
New subscriber here for more Pentatonix. Their second Grammy was awarded for their version of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies. It was also well deserved. For original music try theie iHeart performances of Misbehaving and Cracked. They haven't recorded in either the jazz or the blues genre but I have no doubt they could do a fantastic job.
Their medleys and evolution compilations are phenomenal. 90’s Dance Medley is my favorite after this one. I’m annoyed it wasn’t nominated this year. Another must see is Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy. They got their 2nd Grammy for it…. A song with out words sung by a band without instruments.
PTX does the boxes thing a lot, to give everybody their recognition. Check out their "90s Dance Medley", it's great nostalgia. Kirsten/Kirsty rhymes with thirsty.
Especially as you appreciate the editing as well as the incredible singing and harmonising, please watch ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’, their third Grammy winner. Great reaction to this, their first!
I once saw someone comment about some acapella bands would be in high school. PTX would be the Glee club, Voiceplay would be the theatre kids and Home free would be the cool kids that hand out in the parking lot. I think that sums them up nicely.
There are a couple of really good live versions of this too. It might be worth checking some of those out. This is one of the staples that they tend to work into the set list of most of their tours.
Right after they won the Sing-Off competition, with a record deal with Sony, Sony dropped them saying essentially no one wants to listen to this kind of music so Scott said fine, we'll start our own youtube channel. Smart guy. If you don't mind getting "Mitch-slapped", try listening to "Come Along". It is the cover of Kosmo Sheldrade's little diddy and is crazy fun with Matt Sallee as bass.
Good for them. It really stinks that Sony would do that. It’s their loss because they are the real winners hear. They have a huge following of fans that know their stuff and appreciate what they can do.
The little vocal details are just bananas! Like the way they use the consonants at the beginning doing "Technologic" to create the almost robotic sound.
Some people have said that alot of their sound comes from post-production work , but you should listen to their singing this song live. It was in an office ,i believe and recorded on a cell phone.
I don’t think post production. Work is a big deal unless you are covering up something. PTX is not one of those groups. They are amazing and do t need it. They use it for effect.
Great reaction! One of my favorites videos they have done are their Evolution Of series. The Evolution of Michael Jackson, The Evolution of Ariana Grande, The Evolution of Rhianna, The Evolution of Beyonce, and The Evolution of Music are definite must -sees to see their vocal skills in action. Just them with microphones and their voices. These videos will WOW you even more! Keep up the good work and God Bless!
Every one of these kids are my heroes. I was in a dark place. PTSD and a traumatic Brain jury and I was giving up. Someone posted the hallelujah video and it save me from myself. They saved my life and actually brought joy to it.❤❤❤❤❤
Great Reaction!! Since you enjoyed this one so much, I would suggest you react to the video of their original song "Love Again". It is one of my favorites (of course, that is kind of like a parent having a favorite child! ALL of Pentatonix' songs are good!) I have enjoyed watching your reaction videos and look forward to seeing more.
If you loved Mitch's voice on this, then you have to see him in one of their first original songs, which has sort of the same theme as this one. The song is LOVE AGAIN and Mitch is a beast the way he works those high notes. Kevin makes an amazing 808 bass drop that sounds like the real thing. I lost my mind and started dancing, as if I was in the club. The video is styled very similar, which is their aesthetic choice. It has a Steam Punk Aliens theme. Trust me...you'll love it.
Perfume Medley has them singing in Japanese (and a bald Mitch) and Papaoutai has them singing in French (with Lindsey Sterling on violin while Kevin plays cello). Highly recommend both.
The most amazing part is that the video was made right after they were dropped by their record label post-SingOff. . They did it themselves for about $500 and filmed it in a closet in one of their apartments.
Lol...i left this for near the end of your list of Pentatonix reactions to watch, because i didnt know if you would like it as well as their slow stuff. But your reaction to this is much more animated in comparison. This is one of my fave Pentatonix covers. Good reaction.
This is one of the first two videos they ever posted to their RUclips channel. Also around the same time violinist Lindsey Sterling also posted her first videos.
My favorite song by Pentatonix is Love Again. I listened to it on repeat for weeks when I first heard it. Avi makes my heart flutter with his bass voice. The music video is amazing as well ☺️
All the comments have the information about this video, how and why it was made, and how raving we fans are for this group!!! There are no words. As many times as I've listened to and watched this video over the years, I get chills every time. I love that you loved it too. :)
This NEVER gets old! Great reaction. I’ve read a lot of other great suggestions in the comments and really you can’t go wrong they kill everything they touch. My suggestion for another reaction to PTX is Come Along or Gold ☀️☀️☀️
Their arrangements are legendary, the way they rework things and harmonize; along with their killer bassists (Avi being my favorite, no offense to Matt)... they work so well together.
I think they filmed this in their Kitchen closet. A bit of black fabric and couple of lights was all that was needed phisically. A TON of god-like editing powers, and pure talent and skill was also needed :)
A great video to watch that reveals the interplay of the original 5 members is their cover of "Gold" by Kiiara - full on view of all five for the duration of the performance, one take. To see how arrangements grow in the studio currently, watch "The Recording of Evergreen", their most recent video. I think most will enjoy watching how much concentration there is on combining the individual talents.
You should check out Love Again. I always think of it as the rebellious little sister to this Daft Punk video! Also, it’s an original!!! Hope you check it out!
the beatboxer Kevin was not able to tolerate the color contacts so they came up with the futuristic glasses for him. If you look closely, especially the bass Avi, their eyes are all red.
Long time pentaholic. Love your reactions. Original songs Love again, sing, thank you My favorites Imagine, thrift shop, can’t hold us, bohemian rhapsody, wizard of ahhhhs, radioactive and any of the evolution series Thank you.
Apart from all the other mind-blowing things about this arrangement and this performance, here's something else that blows my mind to bits: the Grammy they won in 2015 for this song was the Grammy for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella - but that was the first time that the award had ever been given under that name. In 2014 and previously it had simply been for "Best Instrumental Arrangement". That suggests that the Recording Academy actually expanded the award category specifically to include Pentatonix after realising they had no category for a cappella arrangement. You know you're good when the Grammies literally change their own criteria to allow you to win.
They did a very good rendition of Can You Feel The Love Tonight. Kristi and Mitch really blow the roof off with the house with the 4 key change transition rise throughout the song up to the climax. Highly recommend that you do a video on this song.

Myself and some other Pentaholics I know personally call both Kirstie and Mitch chameleons because they change their looks so often. Some reactors think there's someone new, I can't help but laugh and think, "nope, you are just getting trucked by the chameleons of the group"
Unfortunately her smile changed when she got her lips done 😬
Yes it does seem like they change often Larry. Thr smile is nice though.
@@heidi_d ya the girl in the video I saw said that they come in already knowing exactly how they want it. They are seriously to talented to be human.
@@milissaleatherwood6837 Yeah, truly! Hardest working band in the biz!
Me too. But my favorite is Rhianna medley
Friends with Avi first and connected Scott and Avi and Ben was the one who saw Kevin's video.
*Bram
Thanks Louella for the kind words!
I agree 100%, Charlotte. These two songs are just incredible! My favorite is "First Place I Go"
Absolutely! Avi's voice is beyond beautiful, and was rarely showcased in the years with PTX!
Thanks Charlotte for thr info and yes Avi has a great voice. Thanks for thr suggestions too. I’ll add them to thr list.
The crooked smile. If you notice, she smiles with the right side of her face most of the time.
She can smile with both sides, but moves to the right most of the time.
When you deduce what the reason is for that, you will be even more impressed with her voice and vocal skills.
Yes I’ve been told the story. Honestly I think it is a cute thing and is a plus for her.
Thanks for thr suggestion Marja! That video will be out next week. Make sure to check it out.
Thanks for thr info!
Bohemian rhapsody...amazing grace...90s dance medley.
Thanks Chris! I already did Bohenian and 99’s be sore to check them out.
I saw them live back in the day, original lineup. They opened the show with this, and it was magical live.
🔥🔥, great right? I’ve heard Mitch’s beautiful voice/tone described as once in a generation.
I have a suggestion. React to Kiera’s video “Gold”. It’s a cool video Then react to PTXs version. You will be blown away. It’s live and their timing is insane
You probably will also love their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Thanks Bonnie for thr suggestions! I did Bogemian Rhapsody. I hope you saw it.
Thanks for the info and suggestions Kate! Thanks for the suggestions! I did thr Bohemian Rhapsody video did you see it yet?
This was recorded in Avi and Kevin’s closet (they were living in the same apartment when they moved to L.A. after winning the Sing Off); they did the video in the kitchen! The project had a basic cost of $400! Much of the cost was editing-related. Oh, and. How about those Kevin snare drum rim shots at the end!?
Good call in the rim shots Michael. Geez I am continually blown away with each video I am watchjng and listening to. Amazing!
Your bobbing head, smile and appreciation for their talent is why I watch so many reaction videos for PTX. The arrangement, the depth of the sound, the way they did the video….it’s all amazing!
I absolutely love how this video really showcases the beatboxing just as much as the other voices.
Thanks for the kind words Stephanie! PTX are awesome!
Hello Stephanie
You have soooooo many more to see, both covers and originals!! Please don't stop.
THIS! ⬆️
Thanks for thr info and suggestions Barry!
One of my earliest realizations about Pentatonix was, "Oh wow, this is a super-group!" Like you said there's no weak link. Each one of them could easily lead a group of their own.
For sure they are all amazing !!!
You have got to keep following Pentatonix. Try "Mad World", the singing, videography and editing on this one, to me is superb. They have a wide repertoire of music to choose from. Keep listening and I'm sure you will become a Pentaholic!
Thanks Debra for the encouraging words! I have done several more LTX videos and they are incredible. I hope you checked them out.
I ❤ watching people react to this video/ song for the first time! PTX is next level and is so fun to see people discover them! Can't stop 😊 ! PTX = pure joy
Thanks Meghan! Hope you watch more!
Great reaction! Songs like this are exactly the reason why we said keep watching PTX. They're not a one trick pony that's for sure. They're awesome! Keep them coming! 😊
Thanks Sonia for thr kind words! I’ve done more and will be doing more down thr road. Hope you check them out.
Hello Sonia
I just love how it combines like all of their best songs into one comprehensive mix. As well as making it their own with their own voices. And it really makes me want them to just release an entire album that's basically just an a cappella version of discovery.
I appreciate how humble you are! You don't judge on artist on their craft but enjoy the individual talent. Teacher skills.
Thanks Vance!
I would also suggest Gold.
@@Tammy-km5uf Completely agree. Gold is a must.
@@Tammy-km5uf Yes, but must see/know the original first
@@taniareads8751 Absolutely. Hearing the original artist first should be a requirement for this one. lol
I would also suggest Imagine.....The John Lennon cover.....A work of art.....
Thanks for subbing MJ Bartholomew! Thanks for thr suggestions too I will put those in the list.
I enjoy amazing talent and PTX have it in bucket loads! Can’t wait for more reactions. Much love from England 🏴❣️
Wow England! Thanks Stella!
More good ones to watch: 90's Dance Medley, Behind The Scenes of The Making Of Evergreen, Sound Of Silence, Amazing Grace.
Thanks Cheryl for thr great suggestions! I just did 90s Dance Medley. I hope you saw it.
Thanks lynn2574! I’ll add that one to thr list.
Enjoyed your reaction...you're right that this video is a treat both visually and musically...now watch 90's dance medley!
Jones Donna that 99’s Dance Medley is coming out next week and wow what a suggestion. Thanks!
You should hear it live recorded on a cellphone back stage....its just as good.
PTX does the boxes thing a lot, to give everybody their recognition. Check out their "90s Dance Medley", it's great nostalgia.
Kirsten/Kirsty rhymes with thirsty.
Thanks for the suggestion and name pronunciation. I just out that video iut hope you saw it.
Especially as you appreciate the editing as well as the incredible singing and harmonising, please watch ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’, their third Grammy winner. Great reaction to this, their first!
Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy was their second Grammy. Jolene was their third.
Thanks for the kind words Shirley and thr suggestion.
I once saw someone comment about some acapella bands would be in high school. PTX would be the Glee club, Voiceplay would be the theatre kids and Home free would be the cool kids that hand out in the parking lot. I think that sums them up nicely.
What I love is that when I saw them in concert a couple weeks ago, they sound identical to their videos. Best concert!
They are amazing singers. Wow that’s awesome!
There are a couple of really good live versions of this too. It might be worth checking some of those out. This is one of the staples that they tend to work into the set list of most of their tours.
Thanks jcs1025!
This is a medley of 7 Daft Punk songs, not one song. Thanks for the reaction.
Yep you are so right Ro! It really added something special.
@@bobcieslinski I agree. Their voices do things together that other groups and performers only wish and dream theirs could do.
My favorite one is the one I'm listening to at the moment! They're all phenomenal!!
PTX got their 1st Grammy for Daft Punk.
2nd Grammy for Dance of the Sugar Plum Ferries
3rd Grammy for Jolene featuring Dolly Parton
I’ll work my way through those ones. Thanks John!
The Grammy was under the heading of "musical arrangement." The visuals definitely deserved a Grammy too.
Thanks for the kind words and suggestions rw716!
Every one of these kids are my heroes. I was in a dark place. PTSD and a traumatic Brain jury and I was giving up. Someone posted the hallelujah video and it save me from myself. They saved my life and actually brought joy to it.❤❤❤❤❤
Wow that’s such a great story. So glad they helped you. Hope you are doing well.
Love Again and Coffee in Bed are a few of their originals. Also try Gold and Havana...you will see a nice contrast of Avi and Matt.
Thanks for the suggestions Derrick!
Thanks Oanela for thr kind words and suggestion! I’ll add it to the list.
Thanks blackkatt! I will add it to the list. 808’s are awesome!
if I IIRC remember/recall correctly, they also did Carol of the Bells. The best Christmas song of all time, of all time.
i say that because i'm a fan of short songs. most songs are just filler to reach that 4 minute mark when it could be done in 2
Thanks Mike! Added to the list.
Perfume Medley has them singing in Japanese (and a bald Mitch) and Papaoutai has them singing in French (with Lindsey Sterling on violin while Kevin plays cello). Highly recommend both.
Thanks I’ll check it out !
I love that their general philosophy is that if they do it in a video, they want to do it just as well live. That's amazing to me.
The most amazing part is that the video was made right after they were dropped by their record label post-SingOff. . They did it themselves for about $500 and filmed it in a closet in one of their apartments.
Incredible Kimberly! I guess it shows it doesn’t matter how much money you have it’s about the talent.
PENTATONIX "Bohemian Rapsody" is the Best - and also "Home Free" all songs
I agree with you Roland.
Lol...i left this for near the end of your list of Pentatonix reactions to watch, because i didnt know if you would like it as well as their slow stuff. But your reaction to this is much more animated in comparison. This is one of my fave Pentatonix covers. Good reaction.
Thanks Randy! I loved this one!
This is one of the first two videos they ever posted to their RUclips channel. Also around the same time violinist Lindsey Sterling also posted her first videos.
They are out of this world!❤🎵
My favorite song by Pentatonix is Love Again. I listened to it on repeat for weeks when I first heard it. Avi makes my heart flutter with his bass voice. The music video is amazing as well ☺️
Thanks Heather! I’ll check it out. He does have a great voice.
All the comments have the information about this video, how and why it was made, and how raving we fans are for this group!!! There are no words. As many times as I've listened to and watched this video over the years, I get chills every time. I love that you loved it too. :)
Thanks Jeanne! So much to love with PTX.
You should react to pentatonix cant sleep love
This NEVER gets old! Great reaction. I’ve read a lot of other great suggestions in the comments and really you can’t go wrong they kill everything they touch. My suggestion for another reaction to PTX is Come Along or Gold ☀️☀️☀️
Thanks AJ! I appreciate the kind words and suggestions.
Their arrangements are legendary, the way they rework things and harmonize; along with their killer bassists (Avi being my favorite, no offense to Matt)... they work so well together.
They sure do work well together and the arrangements are awesome!
🤯🤯🤯🤯 sums up this video. So glad you enjoyed them -- from a long time fan of PTX. They are absolutely gifted!
They really are. This was such a great cover of all of these songs.
I think they filmed this in their Kitchen closet. A bit of black fabric and couple of lights was all that was needed phisically. A TON of god-like editing powers, and pure talent and skill was also needed :)
Thanks for sharing the info!
90's dance medley
I just saw "Love Again," by Pentatonix. I don't know if you have seen this one yet, but it's amazing. Peace and bright blessings.
Not yet I’ll have to add that one. Thanks Marie!
it's called an eargasm
A great video to watch that reveals the interplay of the original 5 members is their cover of "Gold" by Kiiara - full on view of all five for the duration of the performance, one take. To see how arrangements grow in the studio currently, watch "The Recording of Evergreen", their most recent video. I think most will enjoy watching how much concentration there is on combining the individual talents.
Thanks Beefan for the suggestion!
Great reaction! I'd highly recommend their rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Thanks Beth for thr kind words! Also I just did thr Bihenian Rhapsody video. I hope you saw it.
Just discovered your channel! Subscribing! Love the engagement and descriptive reactions! Very sincere!
Thanks for the sub and kind words Spoketlabolina!
You need to see the live performance of both on stage and a private show for a make a wish recipient 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This work is so magic!!
Like Holy Moly! 👍 This is such an incredible cover!
I do hope that is the real story behind this exciting and dynamic recording. The skill and visual effects are hypnotising.
They sure are Loupa57!
I got lucky in that this was the very first thing I saw of theirs. Immediate wow and I was hooked!
I can see that Randy this was so much fun. It made me want to see more.
You should check out Love Again. I always think of it as the rebellious little sister to this Daft Punk video! Also, it’s an original!!! Hope you check it out!
Thanks Jewlee! I’ll add it to the list.
the beatboxer Kevin was not able to tolerate the color contacts so they came up with the futuristic glasses for him. If you look closely, especially the bass Avi, their eyes are all red.
Thanks Jana for thr info!
They are incredible!!!
You sir are a true professional...wonderful presentation.
Thanks so much Donald!
Long time pentaholic. Love your reactions.
Original songs
Love again, sing,thank you
My favorites
Imagine, thrift shop, can’t hold us, bohemian rhapsody, wizard of ahhhhs, radioactive and any of the evolution series
Thank you.
Thanks for the kind words Denise! I’ll add those to thr list.
You should try their own song Love Again. It's amazing with a nice beat.
Thanks Frank! I’ll add it to the list. It sounds interesting.
