I have the same 16’ equinox 2.4 ecotec, I have a noise on cold start that lasts until I start driving. It’s very similar to the noise I hear in your video BUT there is no bad smell even with the AC vents set to outside air. Is there another common thing that would make these engines rattle noise on cold start with a similar sound? The sound is as if there was something hitting the plastic fan blades but a bit more metallic and then goes away
This engines known to be loud in general after few years of driving. If the manifold has a small crack you won’t smell the exhaust gas yet but the reason why you don’t hear it as much after driving is the manifold expands just a bit enough to cover the crack. If I were you I would drive until the smell comes from events. The other reason is the timing chain rattle. They sound very similar but even if you change the chain it won’t go away. I do recommend timing chain replacement on this engines around 100k miles bc some of them jump timing around this mileage but it isn’t very common.
@@joebenjamins7399 hi there. It is not actually possible to attach the video on comment section as far as I know but if you want to share the video on your channel and put the link here I would love to check out your video and see if it’s something that I know.
@@aslanmammadov2230 he’s saying it’s more problems coming I have a 2011 Ltz equinox and after I got my manifold replaced the catalytic converter went bad this car has been in th shop 5 times within a year and a half and I hate it and it only has 71k miles on it worst suv. Chevrolet made

On this channel I don’t show how to change parts bc it takes so much time to record them. It’s only for diagnosing problems so you don’t spent so much money on extra parts that you don’t need.
It is really easy, there are several videos online, but you just remove the intake, the intake mount and you can access the exhaust manifold. Just a dozen bolts/studs. Some of the bolts are hard to get to and you have to be careful not to drop the bolts and the studs. Job is much easier with one of those electronic socket wrenches.
MY CAR DOES THIS EXACT SAME THING AND THE SMELL!!!! I've been searching everywhere to find out the issue. Thank you so much.
❤️
i guess it is quite randomly asking but do anybody know a good place to stream newly released series online?
Sell it and Move On That Car is The Worst Car Chevy Or Gmc Ever Made Trade it in and Move on You Will Thank me in the Long Run
I don’t get the smell but my equinox makes this sound when I start it. Mine is a 2012.
my is sound like a exaust leak for 5 -10 second it make a whistle sound then it go away then go away 2014 eqiunox
Once the manifold heats up it expands and kind of blocks the crack.
My is doing the same same year
