- Only “Extra” was with Oscar winner Kim Basinger on Saturday as she was honored for her work to stop animal cruelty and exploitation.
At its annual Glamorous Hollywood Night gala, Last Chance for Animals honored Kim with the Albert Schweitzer Award for investigating animal abuse.
Kim was joined by Last Chance For Animals founder Chris DeRose. His organization has championed animal rights for 35 years. Watch!

When it comes up as to why I am a vegan and I begin to describe how industrialized farming of animals is bad for the environment not to mention the suffering it causes animals and their ultimate savage deaths, they stop me and say they don't want to know about it. I tell them if they watched videos about the truth they would never again be able to say "hamburger" "pork chops" etc....
I liked Kim's hooded eyes she didn't need to resort to plastic surgery...Her eyes don't look like her but I applaud her for the work she has done to stop animal cruelty....A very good actress too, I always loved her performances x

YES. Finally somebody says something about how people, when faced with what happens to animals on a daily basis, what happened to animal that they're currently consuming, they wave it off and say " I don't want to know. Don't tell me " which in a lot of ways, is just as bad as the cruelty committed against the animal itself. I so glad she said that because it is so incredibly messed up that people do that. It bothers me so much how the majority of humans on this planet act as though this is OUR planet. WE only matter. WE can push these animals around, push them out of their homes to build more, torture and kill more to satisfy an unnecessary want to consume meat. I really am embarrassed to be human most of the time just watching how selfish the average human is.
