No, it was the best moment of Donald Ferguson. He saved people and managed to keep his loyalty to the very end.
In that alternate universe, Nolan practice that speech to Mark a bit more to convince him to join him.
or he just raise his son as a viltrumite and convince him easily

Honestly it wouldn't take much. Most of the multiverse Marks join Nolan. There's no end to examples of our own history he could show Mark that would convince him if he had the time.
Mark is very different in the alternate universe, he seems more of an outright sociopath even before these events. Plus Robot is still in his original form, not his Rex body.
Donald had the best reflexes of that whole team. Also somehow managed to raise a fist and slam it down on a button while a hand was wrapped around his spinal cord.

It was definitely adrenaline kicking in and allowing him to slam down his arm. His body allowing him to use his 300% one last time before he inevitably perishes.

With the materials they were using, there was probably nothing their armour could have done to resist any attacks from Omni-Man. If anything not wearing any armour would be more advantageous. Less encumbering.
I love how in the practiced speech he does say he loves Mark and Debbie more than…well whatever he was going to say.
Had he just chose his words carefully in the heat of the moment and really emphasized that to Mark, he probably would’ve gotten him and maybe even Debbie on his side
Considering in most timelines Mark sides with him, that's probably what happened. Him calling Debbie a 'pet' was what set Mark against him.

@@psyco829 That's pretty scary. It wasn't necessarily this version of Mark's virtue, but this version of Nolan's missteps that led to them clashing.
I don’t really buy that theory. Mark loves his home and his friends. He’s a better version than his multiversal counterparts.

And then we have his counterpart, Cecil... Not conflicted, gave up enough of his humanity to be a monster contained by what's left.
Guy had all these years to prepare for Omni Man to go nuclear and he still sends his men with machine guns to defend themselves with.

@@SkimboReloaded distraction how? They were supposed to be undercover ops until they gave themselves away and then gave their other base away. This would ultimately alert Omni Man to where his family would be. The cherry on top is giving them toy guns to play with Omni Man

Nolan really had to psyche himself up to try and not doubt his race's regime. I'm so psyched for what comes next.

Viltrumite hearing must be incredible if Nolan was able to pinpoint that first soldier’s location on the first try without being able to see him.

As someone who hasn't read the comics, I now see how Donald was a cyborg this whole time. Bro dodged one of Nolan's attacks and even Nolan was like "How did he do that?"

When Cecil said it'd knock him down for an hour or two, and then it had almost no effect, really did his much Nolan was lying about, he knew Cecil would make contingencies, so he lied about his strength
Debbie calling Cecil a monster for attempting to stop Nolan without endangering others is just ridiculous.
I mean she’s in shock so it’s completely fair for her to not make sense. She’s clinging to the closest person to her on the scene which was Omni-man.

Honestly insane Donald avoided that first hit.
He's got nothing but formal clothes and prrobably has the best training of all of the agents there. The other agents were wearing combat armor. Said armor was completely useless against Omni-Man but was still cumbersome for the agents to wear and move around in. Which do you think is gonna have a better chance at avoiding a punch from Omni-Man?
Donald was pretty smooth with that dodge.

After watching the second season and seeing regular Viltrimites at work, Omni-man’s little rehearsal at the beginning is just night and day compared to them. He’s so uncertain and worried about the feelings of others. Very un-Viltrimite of him.
This was like the 30th version of Donald we never got to see him as a full human once
