    The coffee maker converted into a steamer was an ingenious idea! Nice work!👍😎🎸🎶

    Thank you for taking the time to remove the neck, instead of just cutting it off, and cleaning out the neck pocket. Nice steam gennie!

    This is low key terrifying if you imagine someone bound and gagged in the corner, tearful and out of view. 😅

    i had a 1993 les paul birds eye top dark back made in Korea that was fantastic! the neck was a Gibson style long tenon neck with the Gibson style bolt head truss rod! you can imagine i was kinda confused to find these details, i expected to find an aleen key truss rod and a short tenon because not even Gibson was using them at that time.

    I’ve seen people approach the neck from the bottom and steam it . Heats the joint and not the neck ,and the water stays on the bottom .

    Seems like I would pull the truss rod saw the neck off about 1/4" out from the body joint and use a router with a template to clean the neck butt out of the body joint.

    What would think about cutting it off short, drilling the core, then steam the core to remove the stump?

    Heat is the best method. Moisture anywhere near or on is always a bad idea. But well done amigo for improvising.

    That was some amazing woodwork, but I'm a little confused why you chose to convert it to a bolt on neck?

  • @Vanaspatti

    Did you get an explanation for why they would make the neck tenon that way or is the fact it is not a one off and looks like that cause for concern?

    • @MonsterGuitars
      @MonsterGuitars  2 года назад

      From what I've found out, it just seems like a common design in cheaper Epiphones (not Gibsons), called an offset tenon.

    How about using a heat gun set on the lowest temp.

      Hi there - it's nearly finished. I've got other projects happening, and there was also some polyurethane curing time involved. There will be more video soon.

    If it was a Gibson, I expect that the glues would have softened up quicker because I think they use animal glues

    Had yoou thought it might have been a whole lot easier to just rout the neck off the body ?

    • @MonsterGuitars
      @MonsterGuitars  3 года назад

      At first I had intended to build an identical replacement neck, so routing the neck out of the body might have caused some damage that interfered with that goal. One the neck was steamed out, then I could decide more freely what to do: Make the copy, or do some routing and make something different.
