Alessandro IS handsome. Just not in the classic way. He is rugged looking with those beautiful eyes. He reminds me of Clark Gable,but you might not know who he is though he was the most famous actor of his time. Look him up if you dont know.
Today's idea of handsome isnt real handsomeness. It's pretty men wearing man buns,etc. Alessandro is more like a throw back to when men looked like men,..not models. :}

Just because some movies aren't made by Hollywood, doesn't mean they are bad! They don't get big promotion just because they weren't made by english guys! This is ITALIAN 2-part mini series and ITS AWESOME! I watched it few years ago (actor is one of the most beloved italian actors, Alessandro Preziosi, who also starred in Elisa di Rivombrosa (one of the most popular italian shows)) - and this is by far most realistic adaption of Beauty & the Beast - it has nothing magical in it, yet its so haunting & charming at the same time as it should be. It also takes elements from Phantom of the Opera. If you really love tale of BatB, you will for sure enjoy it. Its the best live-action adaptation if you ask me, and Im BatB expert.
Another example of a good fairytale non-english movie is Wild Swans 2009 in Denmark.

I actually think that the scars make him more handsome. Of course he is handsome regardless if he had the scars or not.
Scars always tell a story of a person's struggles. I don't mind them at all. If their personality is ugly, and they choose not to improve it, I go running in the other direction as quickly as possible.
The very idea of a good woman falling in love with bad man and they live happily ever after is strange. What about the other women he used . Why is the fate of debauched man different from a debauched woman . The man gets forgiven just as stops but a woman has atone or still carry the slime.

This movie is a mixture of Phantom of the Opera, B & B, and Cruel intentions. There’s even a small taste of Jane Eyre. Very interesting...
And Rebecca by Dafne de Morrier. My first association of him was Max de Winter of Manderley. He is much oldre than her, good looking, murdered his wife= Max de Winter.

Interesting I didn't know that. Now it makes a lot more since as to why he acts that way. On top of many of his behavioral problems and his PTSD episodes (the wife, the scar thing, and after that entire night that can physical and psychological traumas, at least the way I see it). I watched some of her films in spanish and that's her voice, so I think she's bilingual. However even the actor is not English but Italian and speaks English very well.

According to the film experts, it was originally done in English by the actors and then dubbed into Italian for release in the theaters. And then for some unforeseen reason it was dubbed back into English using other actors for the voice over. Frankly I would have preferred their original voices. Preziosi has a beautiful voice as heard in Restless Heart.

Im obsessed with all things Beauty and the Beast so I really want to watch this.
It's called Beauty and the Beast Miniseries (2014). So it only has 2 episodes (but about 1 hour and 30 minutes each) which is why it's only a miniseries and only 1 series. The lead actors are Alessandro Preziosi (The Beast) and Bianca Suarez (The Beauty). You watch it on Amazon Prime (if you have Prime that is and only the English Dubbed version), on Tubi TV (It's a free app and on desktop, all you have to do is sign in and it's free, but with adds though, but better than a subscription), Roku TV App (your TV or on smartphone and such), and recently actually here on RUclips under the channel name Movie Central that has the two full episodes (they bought the rights to be able to put on their RUclips channel). And more importantly, if you want to watch the Italian Dubbed Version (which I highly recommend and prefer before fully watching the English one and has most of the original actors voicing their parts such as the actor who played the Beast), just go to Tumblr and type in No Place for Sanity. This person was kindly enough to post it (with English subtitles she did all by herself but the mini series still in Italian) and I recommend you also download it and save it on to your desktop and USB or some sort. Another Italian mini series. Friar from Romeo and Juliet is in this making potion as well. Blanca Suárez is the reason why I’m watching this version of Beauty and the beast. Besides it’s in my suggestion box. Blanca is amazing in El Barko on Netflix. She’s Spanish actress in an Italian mini series.

Some follow-up information on my suggestion. Apparently, the full version is no longer available on youtube. However, there is a way around this by viewing the various segments in order. A bit of a pain, but you do get the whole story. Start by using the search engine and type in "alessandro preziosi beauty and the beast 1/8" This will get you to the start. Then repeat with 2/8, 3/8, etc. until you reach the final segment 8/8. Hope it works for you as this is a particular favorite of mine.

Corrine Donovan Yes, you can watch the series in English but it’s not easy to find.
According to the history of this miniseries, it was originally done in English and then dubbed into Italian for the official release. Then, it was dubbed back into English using other voice actors - go figure. Too bad, since I prefer Preziosi's voice better than the voice over actor and Preziosi speaks perfect English. Check out Restless Heart: Confessions of St. Augustine - Preziosi does an incredible job and it is his voice on the English version.
