@Mr.Jon Snow What's wrong with that, after all, it is his composition and thus the owner of the tune and he had an agreement with the singer to that effect, it was indeed a violation of the agreement.
When ever I hear "RAJA RAJA CHOZHAN" song my mind starts to love everything..... Ilayaraja sir is the best musician ever...
Super singers would have made a better tribute... the singers and the band are not that good.. not justifying his music... esp the singer wasn't good at all

These two only know about Bollywood...they should explore out of that...
I would always feel the same for a couple of months but then I understood. Bollywood movies and their format is westernized and don't have a lot of cultural stuff(many).But south is a different case. Movies might be good but there's a lot of cultural influence, different type of music and all. How much of a cinema lover they might be but they tend to gravitate more towards the things they find similar.

This man was beyond Genius. I hardly watch Southern India movies and songs but I am floored by each and every song of his. I don't understand the depth of lyrics but I always understood the emotions in music. And this man leaves me weeping with more than 90% of his compositions.

There were songs and the violin theme was the background score from the film Nayagan. All the music played were creations of Ilayaraja for whom this function was to celebrate his 1000th film composition.
Ilaiyaraja not happy with his songs being used in new films without his permission . He scolded harshly of the violinist vasantha for using one of his track in 96. And vasantha responded back with playing his favorite raja song in violin and told raja sir will always remains his idol and inspiration!!

@@yahee13 I don't know about that. About Mammootty, it was something he himself told in an old interview. Personally I think that chances of Jagathy Sreekumar beating them both in number movies per year is very high.

@@yahee13 true. This feat can't be achieved in today's times. Old days were saturated with movies but there were only a few lead actors. Most of the movies that comes out were divided between 2-3 stars.
