Maestro Ilayaraja is the greatest composer of this century from India and no one is comparable with him. He composed the music for more than 1000 films which is a record to be placed in Guinness Book of world records and no one will break it in the coming centuries. His music is the soul of our country people and he lives in our hearts for ever.
Watching at almost midhight CET...always amazed by your choices ad this is such a beautiful tribute to the Maestro - 1000 films! And each film has at least 4 to 5 songs....and then in every song the interludes are never repeated. I do not think that any other film music composer has achieved this extraordinary feat!! The Maestro's music is classic and contemporary and very few composers have experimented like him - take totally classic Carnatic/Hindustani Ragas and completely transform them into modern/contempary tunes. Even after 50 years his tunes remain fresh. Not only his use of the swaras/notes but his rythmic knowledge is mind blowing too. One can do research and earn a doctorate by studying his compositions ... the reactions of the public bears witness to the marvels - even the stars and celebrities are carried away. It was wonderful watching this marvellous tribute with you.THANK YOU!!
