Ryan Reynolds came to film 6 Underground in Abu Dhabi! The Netflix film features a host of other Hollywood stars aside from Ryan Reynolds, including Dave Franco, Mélanie Laurent, Corey Hawkins, Adria Arjona, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ben Hardy, Payman Maadi and Lior Raz. Known for its high-octane supercar haven and incredible architectural feats, Abu Dhabi is spectacularly showcased in the action film, 6 Underground, a 2019 American action-thriller film directed by Michael Bay and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
Talking about filming in Abu Dhabi, Michael Bay said, “Abu Dhabi is a unique place to make a movie, with a lot of great looks. It's got the diversity and architecture I need in front of the camera, plus the professional facilities, crew and infrastructure to back it up. I'm very excited to be shooting here over the next few weeks.”
Featuring the capital’s circular Aldar HQ building, with masked accomplices scaling the side of this unique structure; the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s iconic ‘rain of light’ dome; the skyscrapers of Al Reem Island set against a backdrop of blazing explosions, and the craggy Jebel Hafit mountain in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi’s garden city, the movie’s adrenaline-fuelled scenes showcase the capital’s most mesmerising locations. Want to know the best thing? You can visit all of them.
Abu Dhabi’s stunning diversity of landscapes and dramatic locations continue to inspire Hollywood and Bollywood, with other Hollywood and Bollywood films also being shot in Abu Dhabi, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Bang Bang!, Furious 7, The Bold and the Beautiful and many more.
