15 yrs old, in Derby, England. i heard a song Kate is great by the bouncing souls. 25 yrs later, and a few bouncing souls tattoos. The best gig ever was in melbourne, Australia. hot water music and bouncing souls on one stage. best day ever
Philly, 1997:
My friends and I drove across the state to see these guys with NOFX and Hi-Standard at the Trocadero. We got there, it was sold out. Totally bummed, we walked back to our cars with heads hung low and who did we see? Greg, kicking a soccer ball around in an alley behind the club. Long story short, we went over to him to tell him we were big fans and when he heard we drove six hours to a sold-out show he said "That totally sucks. Wait right here..." He goes into the club and a minute later he comes out with a pen and some paper. He then wrote all of our names down and told us to wait in line and when we get to the booth tell them we're with him and we're on the list. And just like that, boom, we were in.
I'll rep these dudes for life because of that. Fuck yeah, to 30 years!
I was at that one. We got tickets like three months in advance.
@@philliesbob9745 Right on. Yeah, we were typical dumb teenagers from rural Pennsylvania with zero foresight about anything going wrong driving six hours to a big city to see a punk show in which we had no real prior experience and totally lied to our parents about. :)
Oh yeah I was like a sophomore in high school and took the train ocrr from Jersey. We used to always go to the Spruce Mart on 15th and Spruce to get 40's before shows at the troc. Looking back it's kinda crazy that a bunch of 15 year olds were getting served and drinking in alleys before shows and none of us got hurt or in trouble. Good times
What an awesome story!! Glad he got you in. I would love to finally see this legendary band someday when things get back to normal. 🤘
Awesome story!!!! Great memories.
WE ARE THE TRUE BELIEVERS!
Slim's San Francisco, my daughter held a little sign up for Greg. "Sarah Saturday says hi!", he makes a don't toy with my emotions face. She hands him her phone and he chats with Sarah until the band had to start the song over because he was on the phone instead of singing. Love you guys!
I love The Bouncing Souls. Catching this 2 years later but I love that Pete Bune from Slacker TV directed this. So many great memories.. Full train of kids getting off the LIRR chanting HERE WE GO HERE WE GO HERE WE GO AND OLE OLE OLE walking to whatever venue in the city they were playing. Once when I was 15 I changed my school ID to get into a 16 an up show lol. True Believers video shoot at CBGB's, the first time I saw them at Deja One on long island, I still have a jacket I bought at that show. Warped Tour right after you dropped the song KID before it was on Hopeless Romantic. The coolest punk rock band to be a fan of. I hope you guys do something at the Punk Rock Museum here in Vegas soon.
❤❤❤❤
I am honored to share my 30 years of life with one of my favorite bands
Gay
Bouncing Souls...
The only band that made me a run a circle pit, run to the toilet, vomit, run back, and finish the same circle pit.
MANTHEM.
You mean you actually left the circle pit just to vomit?
Such a great band! It's such a testament to who they are as people that they've lasted so long, with only having had 3 drummers. The nucleus of Pete, Bryan and Greg is so strong that you never have heard any infighting or major disagreements that caused the band to fall apart. They do it because they love it. That's such a great thing.
I miss seeing bands ☹️
Awesome! Have liked this band forever! I’m old now......
Awesome... I just pulled out my Bouncing Souls Dickies Butterfly Jacket i picked up from a show in Toronto, Ontario decades ago the other week (still fits after all these years).
Been a fan since 2k1, keep kicking ass.
Bouncing Souls and Weston. 2 great bands that love the Christmas time of year.
Love this band. Met the bass player once, super cool dude
Bouncing Souls weren't my favorite punk band growing up in NJ, but I always liked them. I remember seeing them at Casino Skate Park in Asbury Park for example (I think with Anti-Flag?). Anyway, over the years as I've grown a bit away from punk music, the Bouncing Souls were one band that I still enjoyed listening to. And I guess being in NJ, the opportunity to see the band has been there so I started going to the Stoked for the Summer shows, and they've been a blast. It wouldn't be wild for me, today, to say that the Bouncing Souls are my favorite punk band.
Man!!!! I got to meet THE PETE in 2000. Still remember it like yesterday. I got the signed record around here someplace.
here's to hoping we are back in AP in 2021. Bouncing Souls True Believers
until the day we die.
Awesome, thanks for making this video. Just wish it was a couple of hrs long!!!!
Love the bouncing souls
Thanks for getting me through some rough times. ❤
The Bouncing Souls is life.
I really hope to see you guys live again at the Stattbahnhof / Schweinfurt / Germany !!!
Everybody loves the Souls!!
Brian tattooed me at his house many years ago. Still one of my fave tattoos!
He works for tattoville right?
Well before anchors away... I'm from neptune city, it's literally right across the tracks from Bradly beach...a two minute walk
I got my first tattoo every at his house, I’m 16 tattoos in and 15 have been done at his shop
It is a beautiful thing when life works out better than you would have thought. Bouncing Souls, you never feel ripped off. Thankyousomuch l.a california. God bless this world's messes
So rad to see everyone grown up, kids lives wives homes...
Awesome
Saw the band in Cali, Florida, and behind the White House at 1 a.m. Thank you, from the bottom of my AI heart.
I want to learn creating videos like that!
Thank you BS. You guys must be my spirit band, because the way your music makes my soul dance, I feel the most alive. I've had so much fun and such great bonds with my best buds and fam listening to your magic. Much love.
At 13 years old I stole Greg’s bracelet at a concert when he was shaking hands in the crowd. At 28 I still value it as one of my most prized possessions.
Seeing how much they changed since 2006 makes me realize how fast life moves.
Saw them usually 3 times a tour when they were in North America. St. Andrew’s Hall in MI, Call the Office in London ON, and wherever they were in downtown Toronto, ON. Sometimes made the trip to Buffalo, NY. Caught them once in Sydney AUS.
Love the Bouncing Souls and it's interesting to me that Bryan Tattoos left handed and plays right handed. I guess not having a lot of left handed basses laying around influenced that. I wonder what foot he used in kickball
I can say as a left handed person that plays bass right handed, the biggest reason was that when I started playing, left handed basses cost more money.
i love greg. hes a down to earth person !
0:39 is that a nod to H2O?
👊🏽😎👍🏼
They are sick
Got to meet the band in 2004 😎🤘❤
Now I want to get a tattoo from Bryan
Honestly good luck getting an appointment with him haha, I’ve gotten a couple tattoos done by him but he gets booked quite fast
That’s a milestone
Holding heads with the Pixies.
Took me 27 years to figure out who he reminds me of, but it’s fn Bruce Willis!
Hahaha
Bruce Willis is also from jersey!
margauxwynne
Distant cousins?
Haha
And that took you 27 years? ^^ ;D
Bryan looks like J.K. Simmons
Neat! #AllNerdsThrive
Yo
First drummer was still the best, too bad he went nuts.
Michael McDermott and George Rebelo are way better and I like both their styles into the Souls
Shal had the groove. It suited the souls and particularly Greg's vocals so well. Michael was like a punk rock session drummer 1-0-1... yawn.
@Email Email went schizophrenia and they had to kick him out
@Email Email He went a bit Batty. Quit the band and went back to school. It’s all in Do You Remember? 15 Years of the Bouncing Souls.
I bet the music recorded there sucks so much!
I'm from New Jersey. I like the Bouncing Souls but this documentary is kind of boring.
Agreed. Glad im not the only one..super low budget for an iconic punk band..they can do way better!
