@amadincreations I haven't read pastor Wilson's world view books but his perspective in woven through all of the ones I have read. I love The Covenant Family!
It is a reprieve, but any chance at a revival depends on ppl acknowledging their errors, and that is something human nature doesn't like to do. As it is, most professing Christians don't want to admit that their beliefs are wrong. That is especially true for the ppl who consider themselves to already be born again.
We should question the assumption that culture is upstream from politics. We can see around the world that many agendas are being set by politicians, disregarding the views of the general public.
II Kings 9 God raised up Jehu to deal with Ahab and Jezebel's intense and accelerated apostasy of Isreal thru Baal worship. Trump is the equivalent in our times. Unfortunately, Isreal did take advantage of this reprieve. Prayerfully, we will!!! Thank you for your pointed, detailed exhortation for practical repent to this end!!!
You are theologically and historically wrong. Israel did not receive a reprieve when Jehu ousted Ahab and Jezebel, and God mentions Jehu as being just as evil as the 2 of them. Secondly, God did not give the northern kingdom of Israel a reprieve from the curses until the reign of Jeroboam II(2 Kin. 14).
@@theeternalsbeliever1779 I didn't mention anything about Jehu's character. He obviously was not a true God-fearing Israelite. However, he did successfully do what God commissioned him to do. Cut off the line of Ahab completely. In fact, he did more, He got rid of Jezebel and all known Baal worshippers and was rewarded with four generations on the throne. Just as obviously Trump is no Christ following born-again believer. Yet, seems poised to more than could have been imagined just a month ago! I am only using the term "reprieve" as it was used in the podcast, i.e. everything is contingent on repentance and revival, which didn't happen then, and we have yet to see if it will happen now as Doug is exhorting the Church to heed. So, where am I theologically and historically off?
When you mentioned Breitbart's quote about politics being downstream from culture and then you added to this that culture is downstream from worship, I've been saying this for probably around 6 months or so. This is why I have no problem talking about controversial political topics when I'm preaching, because we have fallen for the kinard that things like abortion are political issues. Ultimately, all these issues stem from our view of who God is and whether we will follow Him or Molech. So I still do not talk about politics when behind the pulpit. Because these are not political issues. These are spiritual issues, which we are called to speak on. Thank you for the reminder.

... I certainly don't worship anybody besides God at Thanksgiving. It's not even historically got any odd connections, given its origin in the 1600s and the 1800s rather than pagan times. As for Christmas, I celebrate the goodness of God in sending His Son. I fail to see how that is idolatry. I suppose you could argue that it's a violation of the ordained means of worshipping Him- i.e. an innovation on the weekly worship and a return to the OT feasts. Yet I do not assert Christmas or Thanksgiving to be feasts in the OT sense, where it is morally incumbent on all believers to celebrate them as best they can, or as being directly demanded by God. Nor are they part of the ecclesiastical institution, though certainly churches can and do engage in directing the celebration God-ward. They are simply times to focus on certain of God's blessings and to strengthen my relationships (God-ordained) with family and with history.
Thanksgiving was created by Puritans in the north and Cavaliers in the south. There were numerous subsequent Thanksgivings called for by the civil magistrates in our Nation’s History. There is nothing pagan about Thanksgiving. It’s one of two truly Protestant Holidays on our Nations calendar.
@@robertlewis6915 The Israelites were also worshipping YHWH, the God that took them out of Egypt, when Aaron created a holy day and worshipped the golden calf. It didn't end well for them, (Ex. 32). American Thanksgiving is a perpetual holy day created by the US government. This same government was instituted by the US Constitution as a polytheistic entity that prides itself in its duty to promote and protect idolatry. Thanksgiving violates the First Commandment because the State encourages all people of all faiths to gather and thank whatever devil they worship (1. Cor. 10:20). In 1863 Lincoln called for a day of Thanksgiving. Notice how he didn't exclude Jews, Muslims or any other idolater, but encouraged their participation. He also promoted false worship by Christians. Lincoln did not call the people to proper Christian worship, but to worship according to their our conscience, (Judges 17:6). "Now, therefore, be it known that I do set apart Thursday, the 6th day of August next, to be observed as a day for national thanksgiving, praise, and prayer, and I invite the people of the United States to assemble on that occasion in their customary places of worship, and, in the forms approved by their own consciences, render the homage due to the Divine Majesty for the wonderful things he has done in the nation's behalf," Lincoln 1863 American Thanksgiving violates the Second Commandment also, because Jesus never authorized a Christ hating State to create a holy day for the Christians. Second, Christ never gave authority to this same God hating State to create perpetual holy days. Thanksgiving is clearly a violation of both the First and Second Commandments; thus it reveals the wrath of God is very heavy upon the Church. The fact that professing Christians so easily join with idolaters, and those that practice false worship, shows that they lack even the smallest amount of spiritual discernment (1 Cor. 2:14). This leaves the all important question: What presupposition do you and other Wilsonites believe that would cause such blindness and put you under God's eternal wrath?
@@TheNeoPuritan-f7g The Puritans didn't invent Thanksgiving. It is part of all religions. Every religion has its ways to thank or worship their gods. The Greeks and Romans certainly has feasts at their temples, (1Cor. 10). It's not enough to say that a thing is Christian. The thing must also be done in a God approving manner. It's also not a proper test to say if something is Pagan or not. As a Wilsonite, I would have expected you to have the Westminster Standards at your disposal. The Directory for Public Worship allows for days of thanksgiving, but it does not allow for a Christ denying government to call for one, especially when it encourages idolaters to participate. It also doesn't allow for this same Christ denying government to make it a perpetual holy day. It does allow a lawful minister to call for a day of thanksgiving when the occasion calls for it. I would highly recommend meditating on the Westminster Larger Catechism questions on the Second Commandment. Here is an excerpt: WLCQ 109: The sins forbidden in the second commandment are, all devising, counseling, commanding, using, and any wise approving, any religious worship not instituted by God himself;…(See, no mentioning of Pagan.) …whether invented and taken up of ourselves, or received by tradition from others, though under the title of antiquity, custom, devotion, good intent, or any other pretense whatsoever;
